I’m seriously ready to just deactivate my profile if the mods don't step up and protect me from these girls who act exactly how their bios say they will.
I just want to give my buddy a heads-up on what his little crusade actually looks like to everyone else watching. (Which, by the way, is exactly what this lady is doing to me.)
Look, stopping the posts isn't the hard part. Anyone can go silent. The real trick is stirring up all that drama over at CPAC. It’s just like that old joke: "Oh, he's making me so mad, somebody hold me back before I lay him out."
Henry Campbell5, that’s straight-up misinformation. I’ve got absolutely nothing to do with Sperm and I don't even touch politics. I'm strictly part of the civic initiative Providing obvious experience to the inexperienced in finishing and right now we're just debating whether we should suggest our volunteers support the Pond program.
Honestly, meeting some of those Paravinja types on this forum hasn't been my best experience.
As for Alternative, I don't have much to say—you're right there. But let's be real: implementing a new bad policy isn't going to fix an old one that was broken to begin with.
I disagree. If we actually want our streets to be safe, we can't let Paravinja dictate the narrative and just walk away scot-free. Even if they happen to tell a damn good story.
Grace Edwards92, look, even among the regulars, you’ve got a few George W. Bushs and some Paravinjas hiding in plain sight. I want the red, white, and blue to protect us from the Paravinjas lurking on this Forum, and honestly, I'm not a huge fan of that automatic system where a post just turns into a ban. It feels too heavy-handed. We need a more personal touch here.
That’s exactly what I was getting at, but it looks like Guns N' Roses and Grace Edwards92 are seeing things differently. Honestly, I don't see any parallel here at all. I mean, who knows, maybe there's something there, but I'm just not feeling it.
I honestly doubt that permane would give a damn about cutting a ban down by just one day. 😁
If we’re talking about reopening the Gray Folder, regardless of any suggestions to shorten bans, that should be handled exclusively by someone from the admin crew.
Even though they haven't always seen eye to eye, Parsifal is clearly putting in the work to bring Belk back to its former glory. He’s either setting up polls or just stirring the pot to prove he’s the one you need running things...🙏
That’s just how you see it, I guess... Look, we talked about all sorts of stuff on the homeworker chat, but that wasn't actually what I was planning to pitch. If homeworkers had a shortcut to some kind of amnesty, they’d definitely be abusing the system left and right. On the flip side, if you aren't getting anything out of this besides participation points, and some random gray user shows a bit of actual enthusiasm, you're basically just boosting the odds that someone—maybe Linda King, Scott Long71, or a speaker...—will decide they’re actually contributing something valuable to the Forum.
Linda King said:Just like every other idea I've brought up, this one got shut down because the mods and Scott Long71 are being way too sensitive.
I'm not totally sure what you're getting at here, but ever since I realized the lockdown era would be the perfect time to get more homeworkers involved since everyone had extra downtime, the admin team hasn't tried to stop me once. Honestly, it’s the opposite. Every time I reach out for something the blue team can't handle—like setting up polls or locking threads—someone jumps in to help.
And nobody is breathing down my neck about my idea to let people in the ban corner participate. If I say it's cool, then they're part of the group. Any special rules against them would just be straight-up discrimination against the regulars.
Alright, for all you folks hanging out in the ban corner, make the most of this downtime. Head over to the KZB and drop a story under the "Roads" thread. 🙏 You’ve got until Sunday night to get your stories posted for this round.
This round stays open until Sunday at 10 PM. After that, we move straight into voting through Tuesday night. As soon as our winner drops a new topic, the next round kicks off immediately.
So, here’s the deal with the new schedule: we’ll be posting from Wednesday through Sunday, then hitting the polls on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Hey everyone in the ban corner, if you're feeling up for it, come join us for some weekly forum homework.
We drop a new topic every single week. This week’s theme is dream. If you want in, just write something based on the prompt and post it over in the ban corner. Our friendly mods will handle moving it over to the main homework thread for you.
Just a heads up: don't use your entries to complain about the mods or any general forum drama. If you do, we won't accept them.

(Mods, let me know if this belongs here or if I should move it over to the KZB.)
My buddy’s wife and their five-year-old son were riding a streetcar somewhere in Chicago one evening. It wasn't packed to the gills where you couldn't even move, but there were plenty of people hanging around them. At one point, the little guy grabs his mom's hand and says: "Mommy, I just let out a really great fart."
The people nearby absolutely lost it, while she was just standing there feeling super embarrassed. Honestly, she probably shouldn't have been, since he's just a kid and hasn't exactly mastered the art of social etiquette yet. We adults are constantly practicing self-censorship. We don't burp at a fancy dinner, we don't act up in church, we don't rudely cut off older folks when they're taking forever to finish a sentence, and we definitely don't tell a gorgeous woman standing in front of us in line that she's a total smoke show... Self-censorship is just baked into our reality from the moment we're born. Even that little kid on the streetcar—who didn't quite realize he shouldn't announce his gas—already knew better than to repeat the swear words his parents yell when they're pissed. Proper communication isn't about stopping us from expressing ourselves; it's just teaching us how to say things without being a jerk. So, forgive me if I disagree, but I don't think having rules on Reddit is being overly stuffy. There's a big difference between following guidelines and someone whining about being "censored" because they don't like the rules. Like I said, how we express ourselves matters everywhere, all the time, and I'm not going to buy into the idea that an online forum is some special exception that's somehow stifling your creativity.
Rachel Jones8 said:Where can I find the assignments from rounds 1 through 4? Can we add links to the previous rounds at the top of this current thread (round 5)? I can't search right now, so figured it might be a huge help for everyone else too.
We actually already have that, here you go:
Every new round includes links to all the previous ones in the intro post. That’s why I suggested setting up an index thread (and Jack was ready to jump on it immediately 🙏 🙏) so we wouldn't just have links to the threads containing the assignments, but direct links to the individual assignments themselves. We've already piled up over 100 pieces of work across five rounds, and since each round has its own thread, things get messy fast. Without an index thread, everything is going to get lost—even if we keep everything in one PDF, let alone if we turn this forum into a total circus.
