So I had this encounter at my local Target with this super awkward cashier who always seems to ask the weirdest things, and today was no different... I walked in feeling incredibly bloated, just really uncomfortable, and she looks right at me and goes, "Oh wow, are you still in one piece?"
- So I just told her, "Nope..." - And then she follows up with, "Aha, so when did you have the baby? Is that why your stomach is still there?" - I told her it was about three months ago - And she just goes, "Oh my goodness..." 😲
I ended up trying to play it off by saying, "Just kidding!" but honestly, what kind of question is that to ask someone? It was such an odd response to give...
I didn't really mind when people I knew reached out to touch my belly...
I always make sure to ask if it's okay first, especially if it's someone I'm already acquainted with and they happen to be pregnant... I never just lunge in like a hungry pit bull, because honestly, that's just not how I'd want anyone to treat me either...
mellowridge94 said:just because I'm pregnant doesn't mean I'm stuck inside all day... scrubbing floors and ironing everything for my husband 🙂🙂 yeah right, as if 🙂🙂
oh please... just lying around pretending to be sick. how exactly do you plan on coughing constantly?🙄🙄🤣🤣
hahaha, I was actually emailing my OBGYN about absolutely everything too...
During one checkup, I even ended up apologizing to him, which just made him laugh...
But honestly, after hearing about that other woman last time—where her husband was calling the doctor just to ask if he was actually allowed to drive a car or sit in one—I realized my questions were at least somewhat "normal"...
You know, just the usual stuff about moving the baby around or dealing with cholestasis...
Then again, I’m the one footing the bill for every single ultrasound and appointment, so he might as well stay informed about what's happening with us☕
I really do drive myself crazy sometimes, though. I already told my husband that I can't wait to finally have the baby, mostly because I'm getting so tired of being on my own nerves...😬
Joseph Wells81 said:but seriously, what kind of gorgeous 3-in-1 strollers are we talking about for $333??? and don't even mention Craigslist, because I have zero interest in buying stuff sight unseen without any actual protection—unless we're talking eBay, where you're at least somewhat covered, blah blah ours are considered "cheap" compared to the average, yet somehow a few geniuses decided they could find them for $267.....
Well, it doesn't even have to be a 3-in-1.
Honestly, you really don't need all three components; just having a solid jogging stroller is more than enough.
We ended up getting an AS stroller..
but we actually purchased a 3tec.
The latest trend seems to be people acting surprised that I'm cleaning the stroller... I mean, you aren't even going to take it out immediately anyway.
No, my little one is staying indoors until spring.
Though if we get a few beautiful sunny days, we might sneak out for a little stroll...
Jeffrey Stewart27 said:Everyone seems to have an opinion on us buying a new stroller, and apparently, they aren't fans. 🙂
Honestly, I don't get it. Since you aren't the ones footing the bill, why does it matter? I don't judge anyone else for upgrading their car, buying a house, or even picking out new shoes. At the end of the day, it's our kid, our money, and our calls to make. I just don't see the issue. 🤷
It’s honestly been such a shocker around here, people acting like we’re totally crazy for wanting to spend over 3 $0.00 on a stroller, especially when they claim there are plenty of cute ones for $1,000.
But I just can't see myself pushing my baby around in something that starts squeaking and falling apart after only three months of use...
And let's be real, our stroller is definitely going to be seeing a lot of miles on those neighborhood sidewalks...
I’ve honestly gotten so used to people taking shots at my midsection—not that I mind, since I pretty much know everyone in this town anyway—that I just don't have the energy to get worked up about it anymore...

Then I simply changed the subject. Everyone went silent. Perhaps they will think twice before trying to act smart next time. ☕
well, my dear husband just tells me he's an artist 😁
If I actually managed to find some sign posted somewhere, then I guess I’d be absolutely floored...
But honestly, there isn't a single sign to be found anywhere 🙂
It really gets under my skin when people start acting all sentimental, constantly talking about how they just can't wait for the baby to arrive or how much they want to hold and spoil her... it's just too much. Honestly, forget it. You shouldn't be getting all wrapped up in a newborn you don't even have yet, because once you're gone, someone else is left doing all the hard work of actually raising her...
Jason Brown68 said:I was at my last checkup in the OB-GYN office when I found myself standing right next to three guys who were just sitting there... apparently exhausted from accompanying their better halves. Let me repeat that: an OB-GYN clinic. A place where they truly have nothing to ask for—other than maybe being a support system—let alone taking up precious seating space.
Oh boy, those "protective dads" always try to act so tough against women like us...☕☕
But honestly, nobody even lets me past the entrance at the local grocery store... though I guess I've just gotten used to it by now, so it doesn't even rattle me anymore...
And then you get those ridiculous comments, like, "Oh, we'll teach you how men are made." And I'm just like, nope, we'll be the ones teaching you how women are made...
Amy Green4 said:Some gems from my sister-in-law: - When you're pregnant, you should just live your life however you want instead of constantly catering to the baby, especially when it comes to what you eat and drink. - It honestly doesn't matter which hospital you choose for delivery. - She keeps giving me these intense, play-by-play accounts of her friends' births—complete with graphic details about stitches and uterine ruptures—and I’m just sitting here waiting for her to start providing photographic evidence.
The funny thing is, she considers herself some kind of pregnancy and childbirth expert, despite the fact that she has never actually been pregnant or even given birth. You have to admire that level of confidence, I suppose. 😍
Then there were those precious pearls from my cousin, who had the audacity to ask why I’m still busy cooking and running around, and if I’ve gotten, well, "huge." I just looked at her and said, "Honestly, honey, I'm so immobile and overweight that they'll probably have to bring me into the delivery room on a forklift." She didn't have anything left to say after that.
Honestly, none of that really gets to me... I mean, give me a break, right? At the end of the day, I’m going to have my own delivery and my own unique experience to go through anyway
Christian Brown67 said:I just hope you don't go past your due date. I was honestly ready to chuck my phone into the ocean and let the tide take it. The sheer amount of stupidity people can spout—or text—to a swollen, hormone-driven pregnant woman... ugh! 🤣
🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
so yeah... please, just leave me alone... hahaha
and I haven't even hit that phase yet. I’m seriously thinking about getting a burner number that only my mom, my sister, or my absolute best friend will have access to...
but whatever, they can still find me on Facebook if they really need to🙂
honestly though, I’ll probably end up blocking half my contact list by then hahahahahahaha
Honestly, my blood pressure is hitting the ceiling just hearing people claim we aren't supposed to buy, prep, or get anything ready until after the baby actually arrives 🙂 🙂 🙂
I mean, what if this were my second kid? I’d already have everything staged and ready to go, wouldn't I? 🙂
Oh man, they spent days trying to brainwash me into going out to Target to pick up a stroller when I was about 24 weeks along... I just told them I was doing it and that was that. If something is meant to happen, it'll happen, and buying a stroller isn't going to change fate or anything like that...
If we were being totally logical, we probably shouldn't be buying anything at all since you never truly know what might happen next in life...
Thomas Morales2 said:Honestly, what’s getting under my skin the most right now is having to run to the restroom constantly. When I'm just hanging out at home, I feel like I could practically live on the toilet... It makes no sense, because as soon as I step outside, everything seems to settle down and stabilize perfectly enough.🤷 I didn't deal with any of this during my first pregnancy... I see people debating about waiting in line... For me, the thing that really bugs me is when someone pushes ahead of me, whether I'm pregnant or not. You never truly know why someone might be in such a rush, and they might have a perfectly valid reason for needing to skip the line or for needing a seat on the bus regardless of how old they are... Take me, for example—whenever I get my period, I suffer from these absolutely brutal migraines. If I were to board a bus after a long lecture in that state, I know for a fact I wouldn't be able to stand up, not even for a pregnant woman or someone who looks a hundred years old. There was this one time when my little guy was only two months old; we were out for a walk and I had to drop off some paperwork. I told my husband to wait for me while I took a quick stroll around the area. There was only one person ahead of me in line... I called my husband to let him know I’d be right there since I was next in line. Right then, this woman walks in. To be honest, I didn't even realize she was pregnant, even after she took off her coat (it was freezing out!). Just as I was about to head into the office because the person ahead of me had finished, she turns to me and asks if she can go first. I told her I was in a hurry too, but then she mentioned she was pregnant and would be super quick, and she just pushed right past me into the room before I could even process what was happening! I was totally caught off guard. She was gone for five minutes—my husband was calling me in a total panic because the baby was waking up and asking when I'd be back (I told him, "Hold on, I'll have the pacifier in his mouth in five minutes!"). Ten minutes later, she still wasn't out... 😠 My husband calls again, and I'm like, "I'll be there in a second!" So, I didn't even get my errands done... If I had been able to catch her right then, 🙂🙂🙂 I don't judge anyone anymore, and I'm definitely not asking for special treatment or for people to let me cut in line... But please, just stop pushing! 😉
Oh, the bathroom situation...😁 I don't even let it get to me anymore; I've just accepted that I have to go every fifteen minutes and that's just how it is. It’s not even as bad during the day, but once evening hits... it's literally every ten minutes...
And today, I ended up standing there so politely in line at the Post Office in front of two ladies because they were just leaning against the counter chatting away...
I was just sitting here thinking about how much I love our little community discussions, because honestly, there’s nothing quite like diving into these deep conversations with all of you... It really makes my day to see everyone sharing their thoughts so openly, and I just wanted to pop in and say hello to everyone while I enjoy my morning coffee... kaže: So, I just got the news from the doctor, and they told me that fertilization actually happened in the fallopian tube, which means we’re going to have to have one removed...
I have to be honest with you all, after everything I’ve just been through, I’m feeling pretty shaken up... I find myself looking toward the future with this heavy sense of dread regarding pregnancy, mostly because I’m just terrified that we might have to go through this exact same ordeal—or perhaps something even more intense—all over again...
Oh my goodness, I was just sitting here wondering, where exactly is this whole fertilization process supposed to take place...
I honestly just feel so bad that it didn't descend into the uterus properly... and I can't help but feel a bit frustrated because I knew exactly what was happening when I could smell that ectopic pregnancy starting...
As for what comes next with the pregnancy, I really think everything is going to turn out just fine... I mean, a close friend of my mom's actually dealt with an ectopic pregnancy between her two kids, and despite how scary that sounds, she ended up being completely okay in the end... 🙂
Jose Robinson61 said:Alright, thanks. Honestly, I was starting to get a bit anxious about this...🙂>
Hahaha, oh man, I was doing the exact same thing with my research before I even sat down to write my first draft... 😁
Honestly, people can be so incredibly rude sometimes... I make it a point to never cut in line, except maybe at the DMV or when I'm waiting for a doctor's appointment.
I’ve seriously never had anyone try to push past me in a grocery store, and trust me, I’m a pretty big woman, so people definitely notice me...
The only time I feel like I get any special treatment is when I'm visiting the local farmers' market vendors, because they always seem to give me a little extra of everything and let me pick out the very best produce...😬
