I stumbled upon this while browsing Wikipedia for some weird, offbeat classic movies, and I finally gave it a watch on YouTube.
I honestly expected it to be a bit of a letdown since there isn't much info about it available here in the States.
Watching it on a big screen in a theater would have been the ideal way to experience it, but you can still tell how high-quality this is even through a screen.
It would have been an even better experience if I had watched this one first, before diving into the later films he influenced.

After those gray 28 minutes—feeling like you're watching black-and-white slides synced to a tape recorder, where that weird mix of narration and eerie sounds tries to make sense of the unknown—all you're left with is silence and a hollow stare.

I’ve been wondering why the director tucked that tiny, barely noticeable video clip into a film made entirely of still photos. My guess? He wanted to show that the protagonist only felt truly alive when he was watching his partner sleep. It’s like they finally became one the exact moment she looked back at him with love.

Judging by how you write, you should honestly just be grateful they even let you live under their roof... what a circus.
If she thinks she’s some kind of princess while you're stuck being underpaid, your only move is to bury your head in the sand, ignore the drama, and hold onto whatever boundaries you have left.
The longer this goes on, the fewer chances you'll get to set any rules that actually matter. If something irritates you and you can't stand it, you might as well speak up now. You'll probably look like the "weirdo" to them, but that's just how people act these days.
You're fine. You'd actually be the strange one if you thought this behavior was normal.
It’s sad how things turned out—that someone as sane as you has to come to the internet to find perspective.
