Hustlers (2019) - Wall Street Scammers in Movies ·
Constance Wu was honestly tragic in this one. She had zero percent charisma—not even a hint of the magnetic energy needed to pull anyone in. I caught her in Crazy Rich Asians once, and she was totally underwhelming then, too. I really hope she doesn't try to make a career out of this, because that was just such a massive fail.

Now, Jennifer Lopez didn't do a bad job acting, but the movie itself is mediocre at best, so you can't really blame her.

I'm giving it a 4/10. It was pretty forced.

Are you talking about one of those giveaways for kids' stuff?

Just scissors—simple, right? But isn't it funny how such a basic tool can be so incredibly versatile—and yet, so easy to lose when you actually need them? kaže:
Or maybe just... don't bother buying those tiny newborn sizes since kids outgrow them in a heartbeat? I totally get the logic behind that—but seriously, what am I supposed to do? Let my kid go around naked for the first three weeks?😁

I only ever bought the 56—mostly because I was told it was the absolute best way to go... but was I really making the right call? 😵When they're born, everything feels a bit oversized—it takes forever to grow into things! Right when he arrived, I actually sent my husband over to Target—I happened to stumble upon some tiny sizes while browsing their online selection—to grab some newborn onesies and little pants, just so he wouldn't be swimming in all his older clothes.

I still don't own anything smaller than a 56 myself!🤣

And let me tell you, even the Walmart 56s run bigger than most other brands! 😂
If it makes you feel any better, the breasts usually swell up the most right at the beginning, and then they kind of settle down, or at least stay calm until near the end. Then, once breastfeeding kicks in, it’s absolute chaos! 🙂
Even my grandma commented about how the baby "comes to life" around the seven-month mark when you really start feeling those kicks 😲

I honestly hate that word, "comes to life."

It’s like, I already tried explaining to her that I could hear that little heartbeat thumping away before I was even six weeks along! 🤣
Daniel Palmer, you haven't seen anything yet! This is just your first little brush with Mother Duck. Just wait until you have your own—you'll realize how many there actually are, and honestly, if you aren't complaining constantly about how exhausting everything is, people will think you aren't being a "real" mom. 🥳

A friend of mine was practically assassinated by pure judgment. She got hit with a wave of disbelief and total outrage just because she admitted she was actually loving maternity leave! She told them it felt easier than her old job and that life felt surprisingly chill right now... People reacted like she’d just committed a crime. It was honestly like watching one of those ridiculous commercials where a woman smiles perfectly while claiming she absolutely loves her big national bank. 😁
Ugh, the absolute worst comments! 😲😲

Luckily, I only ever run into lovely people. I honestly get the feeling that Americans just love pregnant women and can't help but shower them with compliments! 🎉

Bringing back the parental control theme to Reddit? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I am all for this initiative! In the current pregnancy thread, everyone keeps asking where they can go to keep the conversation moving—half the people don't even realize we have these other discussion boards outside of that specific subforum.
Rachel Williams said:And here we go... I just hit the 9-week mark today, and honestly, I’m still not even brave enough to bring up the pregnancy topic yet. We’ve already broken the news to my parents and the folks at work (because, unfortunately, I have to).

At the office, the water cooler talk has already shifted to those endless comments about how "once the baby starts kicking, the morning sickness will finally vanish."

Then there’s the situation tonight: my parents are "offering" (to use a polite term) to come stay with us after the baby arrives. The thing is, the two of us live in a tiny 300-square-foot studio apartment. They know this perfectly well; they used to stay with us for ten days at a time back when they could visit more often, but now that we aren't living in the same area, things are different. They want to move in this summer, right around the time I'm due... and they just don't get why that's a bad idea. My husband has spent the last ten minutes on the phone trying to explain it—not by saying we want privacy, and not even by pointing out the lack of space, but simply because we don't want them there. A flat "no," thank you. Let's see how long this goes on... 🤦😵

Grumpy: I truly love these people and they are wonderful, but sometimes, even with the best intentions, people just fail to realize when something doesn't fit.

Ugh, that is such a creepy way to put it!😁 "Once the baby comes to life"?!🙄

My grandma used to say the exact same thing to me. I really hope your coworkers aren't all ninety years old and stuck in the Stone Age like my grandma was back in her elementary school days😁
Megan Newman83 said:My boss is seriously getting on my nerves, honestly. Before this pregnancy, I actually dealt with a miscarriage, and then almost immediately after that happened, I got pregnant again. For those first three months, I had to take some time off to rest, which gave him way too much opportunity to run his mouth at the office; he was going around telling everyone he thought it would take forever for me to conceive again after a loss, so now the whole damn company knows my private business. And now that I’m finally back at work, he’s acting like my pregnancy is some kind of contagious disease.

What a total jerk.👎
I honestly felt so awkward when my coworkers—and yeah, it was an all-female office, no guys in sight!—started counting my age by pointing out how I’m still rocking heels at my age. 🙄
... And honestly, let’s not forget about venting all that frustration onto the people who actually have it easier than you! Whether they really did vacuum the whole house themselves or their live-in daughter-in-law just did it for them 🤣
I honestly don't get those intense, militant moms who feel the need to go on the attack and throw subtle insults at anyone with a different perspective—even if they're just saying they find life with babies easy.

Like, seriously, what's the point?
I haven't experienced any of that magic firsthand yet, but looking at my friends and coworkers, I’ve noticed another weird phenomenon—there are just some women out there who complain and vent way more than others.

Take this one coworker of mine, for example. She lived with her parents, so they jumped in to help with the baby from day one. Honestly, I have never met anyone so sensitive, constantly emphasizing how hard everything is for her (as if she can't imagine anyone else having a difficult time too!). On the flip side, I have a friend who has zero grandparent childcare support, and she doesn't whine nearly as much.

As for me? I'm going to be completely on my own without any "grandparent services," plus my partner is away for work several times a week—sometimes even overnight. Despite all that, I’m still hoping I won't turn out to be as much of a crybaby as my coworker, who somehow manages to complain the most despite having the best support system ever! 🙂

But I’m honestly not feeling stressed at all! 🤷

The only thing is, I’ve really started hitting the gym lately and totally overhauled my diet, so maybe that shift is playing a part...
Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
So, my period showed up a full four days early this month! It’s super weird because I’ve been on birth control for years now and my cycle is usually incredibly predictable, almost down to the day. 🤷

Does anyone have any clue what might be causing this?

Angela Reyes3 said:Look, I’m currently sitting at -9.5 and -11 (those are contacts, my actual prescription is even higher!), so just imagine me without them! Just go in for an exam. They’ll try to check how you see with your current lenses, and if they realize you aren't seeing clearly, they'll just have you pop them out and get a proper measurement... I totally get where you're coming from, but honestly, I think what you're worried about is pretty much impossible. Your prescription is what it is, and you should be seeing okay with it regardless. They'll put those test glasses on you and you'll be able to read just fine... Trust me, these professionals know their stuff, so don't sweat it! Or, if you can manage to go a day without contacts, just leave them out and head to the appointment the next day—that way the results will be super accurate. I personally can't do that because I'm basically blind without my contacts. Anyway, I know they have contact lens catalogs over at Ghetaldus; just flip through it with the doctor and pick whatever works best for your vision. With your prescription, you actually have plenty of options, whereas I really don't 😢

But look, this is what I meant! Back in the day, I wasn't wearing anything and I actually saw better with my nearly -2 prescription than my dad did with his -1. If he took his glasses off, he'd actually see worse than I did! It’s all about how your eyes adjust, you know? Does that make sense?
That's why I'm thinking if they measure my prescription without my contacts right now, it might come out looking way worse than it actually is.
Honestly, I have no clue how the whole process works, I just want whatever is best for my eyes! 👍

Kimberly Davis52 said:Honestly, they really need to give us better contact lenses! They’re such a disaster lately... 😠 I mean, imagine buying a yearly supply, and then—bam—they're useless and you have to buy more. Ugh, what a joke.

My money wasn't even refunded, and my wife actually laughed at me when I showed up holding that little bottle 👎

And as for those contacts, they definitely shouldn't be thrown away like that.
