Back in my day—which wasn't even that long ago—I was always playing Monopoly, Hide and Seek, Battleship, or Sorry!.....
But I really think it’s messed up if someone touches you or tries to play doctor when you're clearly uncomfortable...
Someone in the thread put it a bit more bluntly, but they're right...
There are plenty of other ways for kids to figure things out...
so....if you ask me, it’s just not right..... I mean, when kids hit puberty and start exploring things on their own, that’s just part of growing up kids are curious, they're just figuring life out but this kind of thing... especially with a family member.....
and yeah, if she felt uncomfortable during that little game then we definitely need to talk about whether that counts as abuse.....

Anyway, thanks everyone so much for all the advice and sharing your thoughts with me🙂
man, you can totally 👍
personally, I find it way easier to vent to people I don't even know... I feel like they're more objective than my own friends or family since they don't have all those preconceptions
besides, you already opened up to us, so you'll be able to handle a therapist or whatever👍
you said it yourself... no amount of self-help books is gonna do as much heavy lifting as an hour at the Mayo Clinic 🙂
it’s easy for me to sit here and tell you to just stop spiraling about everything that could go wrong and focus on the good stuff instead, especially when you're already struggling to even see the light...
I honestly don't think they even grasp what you're going through... you really ought to sit down with someone at the Mayo Clinic because they'll actually know how to handle this
It feels pretty pointless for me to be sitting here playing therapist and throwing advice at you when it's obvious you've already heard enough of this nonsense from people like me
And don't sweat the older generation too much... sure, they might act shocked at first, but eventually, they'll realize this is actually the best way to go 😉
when you guys head out, just drag someone else along... maybe you two could hit up a Starbucks together next time and just "accidentally" bump into someone there... try that instead

maybe it's just because you're miserable yourself, so seeing other people fail gives you a little kick? 🤷
Amanda Sullivan3 said:It could be something like that—or maybe they’re just making faces because they’re bored... there are all sorts of reasons, really. Personally, I think I have a pretty good handle on things here😁
basically means they're insecure they'll do anything just to get some attention
I honestly think people just turn toxic the second they feel threatened...
like... if someone even looks like they might be a problem, they strike first... sort of a preemptive strike thing
and then there's the whole insecurity issue, where they're so convinced everyone is out to get them that they just lash out first to avoid getting hurt themselves
plus, when you dare to tell someone the truth they don't want to hear... they come at you like you're trying to take their life or something....😕
but I still believe any kind of malice can be stopped..... you just have to be smart about it, maybe even a little sharp around the edges sometimes....☕ because in my book, bad people actually need kindness to realize that being a jerk isn't worth it, so... if someone throws a stone at you, throw back some bread ( though... sometimes that bread is just as hard as the rock....😉 )
