wearyowl29 said:rowdydriver52; why is it that men always find a way to wreck a relationship? Honestly, things were going just fine for us, hero.😛

And why is it that women always go nurturing these little fantasies about the wrong guys—or worse, someone else's man?

Now, don't go spiraling into that typical, dramatic American melancholy just yet... that version of me could actually turn into a decent, loyal friend—the kind who knows her way around a kitchen, understands how guys and kids actually tick, and isn't busy gossiping about you behind your back...

😁 😁 😁

Honestly, some women just have a knack for ruining everything. 🙄

They take a perfectly interesting discussion and turn it into a total battlefield...
Just imagine what they do to a simple dinner when they bring all their daily frustrations to the table.
It becomes this toxic cocktail—a literal lake of sulfurous fire 😠 😲 😲 where her partner ends up completely submerged. Then, he starts flailing around just trying to stay afloat, which she somehow interprets as him being aggressive, and suddenly those sweet little kids are transformed into tiny agents of domestic apocalypse...

wearyowl29 said:Where have you been? You absolute disaster—a frantic little feminist, a decrepit old hag, some hybrid lesbian, a hot-headed drug dealer, a political amateur, a matriarch sitting on her own eggs, a polished brat without a hair out of place, a lying Eve without the snake... ugh, there’s more where that came from. You really left me speechless, rowdydriver52.😲

Well, I suppose if you're looking for a man, you'd prefer someone more like an outlaw...
may the Easter Bunny hide in those thorny bushes of yours...
just so a bolt of lightning or a prophetic thunderclap could strike you down.
to purge the evil from within.
and instill some good.

Since that's not happening, maybe just take your substitute husband over to the local Adventists—I think they host weekend prophecy workshops.

As for the woman in me,
I guess I can only identify
with that list of insults you just rattled off.
🙂

Well, whether you’re ready for it or not, there’s no avoiding the decision of some confused woman in middle-aged crisis mode...
listen up, and listen good:

Maybe—using that innate female intuition of yours—you could gather the whole family around the TV next time they run "Star Trek" reruns. Captain Kirk has all the answers and actually knows how to handle women. Your husband will probably see himself in him, and as time passes, he’ll slowly morph into Spock. Just a total cool guy with fewer and fewer of those human traits that define the average American. Meanwhile, you can catch "Voyager" on satellite, where the Captain rules the fleet with absolute sovereignty... and we all know how men project their desires onto anything close to a car, so why wouldn't they project them onto a massive starship capable of firing photon torpedoes?

And you should definitely pay attention to which characters your little ones identify with...
If your daughter identifies with Seven of Nine, well, she might have some identity issues... she's clearly lacking a sense of community...
If your son starts identifying with Romulans or Klingons, he’s probably missing a father figure.
And if he identifies with some virtual characters, like a Doctor or an android, then he’s likely a closeted guy with some libido issues. You might need to find him a girl for him to "scan" with his tricorder.
The only real problem is if your husband starts getting too interested in Seven of Nine. That’s a sign he’s looking for maternal comfort that he isn't finding in your embrace. In that case, my dear Nebuchadnezzar, you might want to hit the gym or visit some Actor, especially since you can find cheap workout gear at Walmart to squeeze into while you strut around the kitchen...
Just imagine the kitchen is the bridge of "Voyager"

Love enters through the stomach anyway. And it usually finds its way out through a "wormhole."

wearyowl29, my dear old Dragon, look,
I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I’ve grown rather fond of you—even if you are just some overlooked, struggling, totally average American mother, wife, and Catholic... and since I know I’m basically your unreachable idol, I suppose I should let you in on a little secret. It's a secret that might actually give you and your family a fresh start. We're talking about a certain kind of pedagogy that is, well, "out of this world."

So, are you actually ready to hear it?

wearyowl29 said:That’s why his ego expands to the size of
a massive football stadium—he feels entitled to announce things like, "I am the man every woman would want as a father, a mother... you get the idea."

And what was I supposed to say? That all those sightings and the chaotic crowds in the UFO corridors over the last few years were solely due to my flawless genetic makeup? I mean, I still have at least a tiny grain of modesty left in me.
Besides, how was I meant to explain this to my wife? Tell her that aliens are constantly trying to kidnap me? She’d lose her mind. How else am I supposed to justify being gone for months at a time? This way, she just assumes I'm out on a field assignment... it might not be her ideal situation, but she’s happy enough. Even I.L. has openly admitted he spends a lot of time over at Orion, which is probably why wives don't quite wrap their heads around it.

At the end of the day, what woman actually wants to know that her husband is out there sharing his DNA with half the galaxy?
Parenting in the new millennium? in Spirituality ·
So, that’s your big realization? Why didn't you just say so from the start?

But look,
Nemruth, let me be clear—I am not your son. Remember that.
You can take that attitude elsewhere.
It’s probably too late for me anyway... right?
🙂
Why are you even bothering with rowdydriver52?
Just stick to the topic at hand...
Unless they're actually coming between you and your husband,
then maybe your kids aren't getting that foundation—
that primary environment they need to grow into functional adults—
but honestly, what does that have to do with me?

Where did this sudden attack on me come from?
I guess rog baba is right... the second someone hits a nerve or triggers a stereotype—like that "perfect mother" persona who fusses over her little geniuses (while secretly blaming the whole world for her own inability to handle those close to her)—they immediately start hissing like a snake on a hot stovetop...

Don't project your husband onto me, because I am not him.
And please, don't project your personal issues onto society as a whole... or onto the supposed lack of perfect parenting for your wunderkind, okay?
Why open up discussions you clearly aren't prepared to handle?

And by the way.

I have no issue with children; in fact, I let the child in me learn from their wisdom. When the soul that chooses my wife and me as its closest circle descends into this realm—because souls choose, not us, where they continue their journey—it will be received in exactly the way it needs to be for its development at that specific moment, whether that's "optimal" or not...

In other words, I am the kind of man any woman would want as a father, a mother, a friend, or an elder—for herself and for her children.
😁 😁 😁 😁 😁

😁 😁 😁 😁 😁

"Don't go having kids, Portisiti, because there isn't some perfect parenting manual out there that'll make you happy while turning your children into decent human beings—you'll end up having to beg the gods for help anyway..."

As if I'm just manufacturing them on an assembly line? Like the Holy Spirit is going to descend on me while I'm out in the field?
And what kind of "parenting philosophy" am I supposed to follow to find happiness? Yours? Or maybe something from Ante Bakovica? 😁
Do you honestly think life is just about procreating and then dumping the entire burden of raising those kids onto society?
I mean, let's be real—99.99% of kids are basically accidents...
You have people who are completely immature—intellectually and emotionally speaking—deciding to bring children into this world...
There used to be a time when a single, mature morphogenetic field shared by parents and the community would take responsibility, providing a healthy foundation for these new little lives... Even "primitive" Aboriginal tribes seem to maintain a healthier collective energy than our entire modern, academic Western society's approach to pedagogy... and yeah, they actually pray to the universe and the gods to prepare them to honorably welcome a new—or rather, ancient—life into their fold... they dedicate their very essence to the space the child will eventually occupy...

Besides, why even start a thread if you aren't interested in an actual dialogue?
Maybe you should just start a blog where you can write your own columns; perhaps someone will notice and feature you alongside Magda Weltrusky in the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal, and the rest of us won't get in your way...

😎

The "pedagogy" I'm referring to is actually quite straightforward:

We need to understand ourselves first, if we ever hope to truly understand our children.

hmmm, ladies, mothers... do you honestly believe
that those ancient, battle-hardened beings you see staring back at you from those "tiny" little human shapes are actually fragile and helpless? 😁 😁 😁
those magnificent, imposing creatures that you try so desperately to shrink down—to force them into "smallness"—just so you can feel less inferior compared to the sheer spiritual inadequacy your own parents passed down to you?

what exactly is the delusion here? do you really think you’re the ones who need to explain reality to them? you, who don't even grasp the significance of the fingers you keep crossed behind your backs while you forcefully shove your own illusions of existence, your supposed "virtues," and your narrow views of good and evil onto them?

instead of actually learning from them—since, I guess, every generation that follows is technically on a higher evolutionary rung of spiritual development than the one before it—you just obsess over how to mold them, constrain them, and stunt them, all so they can become... YOU?
just some "perfected" projection of your own ego?

well, let's at least be honest with ourselves for once.
focus on your own inner child...
you are primarily responsible for that part of yourself and its growth,
whereas this little energetic PARASITE you look at and fill with "love" and "care"—the one that manipulates you so effectively because it understands you better than you understand yourself—just let it go.
let it develop in whatever direction it was meant to go.
all it really needs is a bit of wind in its sails—meaning, the quality energy from your own field and the collective field of your parents...
because if you've already taken on the responsibility of bringing a human life cycle into being under your roof, then that's really all there is to your purpose.

work on the purity and the quality of that energy field...
and the true, actual Parents will naturally ensure their child receives the best that Life has to offer.

but first, maybe try shattering your own illusions.
it might make things easier for both you and "your" child.

p.s.

this is a thread about spirituality, isn't it? not a column of letters to the editor in a local newspaper?
or am I mistaken?
🙄

Well, isn't that just lovely... why not go all out and infuse them with everything that makes you, you?

All those little fears, frustrations, complexes, projections, and unfulfilled ambitions—not to mention the local culture and traditions. And don't forget the most vital part: ensuring they grow up believing every single thing their ancestors did...

That should turn them into perfect little warriors, I suppose—ready to square off against every single danger this nasty world has to throw at them!
Spiritual practices in Spirituality ·
Ryan Wilson2:

I recently stumbled upon some info regarding a certain Wu Wei practice—apparently, it involves things like physical strikes from other participants, working in a pool, and whatnot. I assume there’s some meditation involved too, but it seems like you have to attack the body first before you can even touch the mind.

That’s what people call the "MTV Stunt Wu-Wei practice," though most folks just know it as
"JACKASS, The Movie"

😲 😲 what, you aren't some constitutional authority like those hardcore athlete sisters who snap on those rubber gloves—*SLAP!, SLAP!*—just to do a quick checkup or whatever...

hehe, sweetie, just don't touch me then; I mean, what would Jesus say... maybe just keep me in your thoughts or something...
🙄

Honestly, maybe I should just send you a photo instead... you know, the one with Isusek doing some crazy backhand top-spin passing shot parallel with Sjaji-Baba wearing those new Yolotek hair ties and sneakers? It’s tucked in the bottom right corner... upside down...

Not me. My particular brand of nonsense is a completely different beast altogether.
You’re just jealous because you haven't seen the picture yet.
Honestly, what exactly is your issue here...

My actual problem—if you want to get technical—is that I am constitutionally a "swamp person," so my homeopathic doctor insists I should be dealing with hemorrhoids...
which, for the record, I don't have....
😕
An unusual photo in Spirituality ·
Ah, since we’re already bringing up Sjaji-Baba...

Whatever was on her mind—whatever she was dreaming about—that's exactly what she got....
An unusual photo in Spirituality ·
Alright, come on, give me a straight answer—where exactly did she let them develop?
Do you have any idea just how many people out there possess a truly sick sense of humor?
My neighbor, this hardcore Catholic woman, spent years basically worshipping a lady in her window—all because we were the ones drawing her...
Honestly, it was one of the best pranks I’ve ever been a part of...
You can probably picture the look on her face when she finally saw it—this lewd figure, complete with a head, a beard... and horns...

Man, youth is pure madness...
If I worked at a local photo lab... and had certain types of customers constantly harassing me with hundreds of photos of pilgrimages, shrines, crosses, and whatnot... do you really think I wouldn't eventually wander off and let Sjaji-Baba slip into the frame? And not just upside down, either, but maybe playing ping pong with Jesus.

And by the way, please, enlighten me—what am I supposed to make of someone appearing in a photo with Sjaji-Baba, especially with a "smile on his hand" instead of his lips, as you put it? What kind of unfathomable nonsense is this within the Logos plans, huh?
You know, maybe Logos has a sick sense of humor too?
That’s what I’ve been claiming from the very beginning....
An unusual photo in Spirituality ·
Maybe..., errrr.., Lucifer !?

Look, wearyowl29, that’s exactly why it’s called Sjaji-Baba...
It’s because it illuminates and exposes the films...
Don't you know they've rolled out this new tech for developing film? You can actually pick up special orange lamps rated at 10, 45, or 75 SB-a (Sjaji-Baba)

And it doesn't stop there... those lamps allow for instant enlightenment—even for people! Especially those who are obsessed with their various Eastern films!

There’s also a third possibility... maybe they had the film developed over at that Adobe shop on Frankopan Street... the one with the storefront completely covered in Sjaji-bab images... they were the first ones to implement this new enlightenment technology...
A Spiritual Guide for the LIVING in Spirituality ·
Sure, I mean, we basically start dying—both physically and ego-wise—the second we're born...
That’s why we should probably just let the dead bury their own dead; after all, the gospel of Jesus Christ was intended for the living.

As for what people are reading these days: personally, I’m just over here obsessing over Sai Baba.
Stages of Spiritual Growth in Spirituality ·
That’s an interesting way to break it down...
But I think there’s actually one more level to this whole progression.
Those first four stages you mentioned—they really just describe the evolution of the ego...
By the fourth stage, a person is supposed to become their own "spiritual ego"—essentially the very thing they used to navigate those initial four steps...
And then, presumably, you have to let that go too. It's just another intellectual construct, really—a transitional phase before moving toward something else entirely. Something characterized by acting and walking the Path based on a completely different set of principles.
Once you start operating from that second principle, it begins to pull the seeker away from everything their mind, logic, or conscious intellect might normally cling to in this reality...

We could call it a Gnostic level...
Though, I suppose there's no point in getting hung up on specific labels or rigid divisions...
Call it whatever you like...
For instance...
Mara walks through the countryside, lightning flashing above her, feeling perfectly at peace...
My Big Fat Greek Wedding in Movies ·
I basically spent the entire movie passed out—or at least trying to—while constantly taking an elbow to the ribs from my better half... she was being downright sadistic about punishing me for even suggesting we see it, especially since she was the one who shelled out for the tickets... I don't know, the whole thing felt like all style and no substance, almost like some watered-down version of a comedy for people who haven't seen anything real. I just can't bring myself to laugh at stuff like this after growing up on those gritty, dark comedies back home...
