Q-master said:Hey Lewis Hamilton, why don't you tell us a bit about yourself and introduce yourself to the group:www.teme.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6350 You can also use this link! It feels like everyone here in San Francisco is rooting for Ferrari!👍
Same here... also from San Francisco, and I've been pulling for Ferrari since the mid-90s😉
GO LEWIS HAMILTON!
Elizabeth Hughes says Luca Montezemolo:
👋 nice one, Mastermind... keeping it objective and realistic, honestly, nothing more to say here...
Exactly.
If Rubinho had been ahead of Michael Schumacher, there’s zero chance he would’ve caught a penalty. Even if MS was ahead of Fernando Alonso, for instance.
Come on, get your head out of the sand, Elizabeth Hughes.
Everyone knows MS gets special treatment.
And let's be real, the guy can drive circles around people without needing them to baby him constantly.
And don't even start digging up old examples trying to prove they don't protect him—this race alone was all the proof I needed.😉
It doesn't matter, Mastermind 😳
just look at the standings...
McLaren 16 points....Ferrari 6 🙂 🙂 🙂 😁 👍
I've gotta admit, I'm a little bummed that my guy Kimi Räikkönen didn't take the win!
GO KIMI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!👍
Q-master said:1. Not just recently, but basically every single day!!!!!!!!🙏
2. Well, those are just the smokers and the die-hard Jacques Villeneuve fans. As weird as it sounds to any sane person, people like that actually exist. Luckily for us, there aren't many of them and they're pretty easy to spot!😁 Just steer clear of them and you'll live a happy life!!!👍
1. Okay, I didn't realize that.
2. Why on earth would people rooting for teams with zero points be considered "smokers"?
Look, not everyone has to root for the favorites. For instance, in plenty of American football leagues, I find myself pulling for teams that probably won't win a championship anytime soon. We don't all have to cheer for the "WORLD CHAMPIONS"...
Personally, I'm a Mercedes-AMG Petronas fan, and I'd still be if they fell to the absolute bottom of the standings all season while Minardi finished second.
GO McLaren!!!!!!!!!!
Kimi Räikkönen & David!!!!!👍 👍 👍 👍
I've got a couple of questions here::::>>two things...
1. Why is this thread so quiet? Did we run a similar poll RECENTLY or something?
2. Where did these two BAR HONDA fans come from... haha😁 😁 😕 😳
props to you guys!👍
Kimi Räikkönen
I’m curious to see where everyone stands this season... basically, who are you actually rooting for?
For me, I've been pulling for McLaren for a long time now, and honestly, that isn't changing anytime soon.
GO McLaren
Kimi Räikkönen
VADER
Look, you can be as salty as you want about missing VADER, DECAPITATED, KRISIUN, Prejudice, or Supremacy...
The whole thing was insane—just pure death metal madness. Prejudice and Supremacy were killer, though Vader seemed a little off by the end of their set. Probably just exhausted from the tour, I guess.
But honestly, ignore all that crap people are posting on United Forces claiming the show was "total garbage." That’s straight-up nonsense (even if we were all pretty wasted, haha😉 😁 )...
Don't sweat it, there'll be another chance next time...👍
Yeah, I’m listening to Nile right now. Honestly, all I’ve got on hand is *Amongst Catacombs of Nephren-Ka*, but hey, I'm just sticking to the list for now.
I've got three Nile albums in my collection now, including this one.
I’d honestly love to hit up the Marduk show, but I’m still on the fence about it. I haven't even reached out to any of my buddies yet to see if they're down, but I'll try to pull something together. I'll see if I can make some magic happen.
So, here’s the deal... me and three of my buddies are still totally up in the air about whether we're actually going to make the trip. We haven't made up our minds yet.
IMMOLATION, MARDUK, MALEVOLENT CREATION, NOCTIFERIA (Denver, April 27th) Or... maybe not.
Cannibal Corpse and Sinister are hitting Denver on April 20th. Look, if you can somehow engineer a way to make it happen, just get down here with us. Either we'll run into each other out there, or we'll figure something out on the fly. Honestly, as long as there's booze involved, I don't care how we pull it off. 😁
It depends.😎 If we can manage to snag some rides for the Immolation show, we'll be set. I'm sure those die-hard RI DEATH metalheads will be out in full force for one of those gigs.👍 )...
And you better believe we’re heading to the Maiden concert in Cleveland on June 17th. That’s non-negotiable.
Yeah, I'm from the Midwest, just a bit outside of Cleveland.
Look, there’s really no point in stressing over this. We’ll figure it out. We always do.
Right back at you, Brandon Castillo4.
Long live true metal.
Lord Belial said:What’s your favorite genre???
Black metal, hands down. We're talking Marduk, Dissection, Nocturnal Mortum, Dark Funeral, Immortal, Darkthrone, Emperor, Borknagar... you name it.
Death metal doesn't lag far behind either (Vader, Decapitated, Death, Nil, IMMOLATION...)
I also dig melodic death (In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Soilwork)
As for other stuff, I can handle some Power Metal (Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica, Iced Earth), Gothic, Thrash, and so on...
But mostly, my heart belongs to Death and Black...
NP: Nil - Beneath Eternal Oceans of Sand
Here he is, the man himself!!!!!! LORD BELIAL
Finally, a real metalhead shows up!
So you listen to Nil, huh? Heh. I was actually blasting Black Seeds of Vengeance just earlier today.
Nil is the absolute truth.
Did you catch Vader when they played in Chicago?
You mentioned DEATH (Chuck Rip!). Man, Chuck was a total metal LEGEND, and more than that; he was a guy who lived his convictions completely and honestly.
Have you heard the good news?
CONTROL DENIED (When man and Machin Collide) is actually coming out after all !!!!!! Despite all that bullshit about labels, it's happening!!!!
According to Chuck's mom, THIS album is the most important one in Chuck's entire career (check the news over at
www.emptywords.org)
Where are you from, man?
You leaning towards IMMOLATION, or maybe CANNIBALE?
Anyway, let's talk soon.
Greetings from Cleveland....

hehe, I wasn't even doubting it...😉😁😁😁
dustybadger3 said:I get where he's coming from.🙏
Yeah, I get him, and you've gotta respect that... but let’s be real, he always had this massive ego, acting like he was the sole authority on everything. Like, "I know it all, and none of you have a clue." Especially when it came to DTa.
It was like nobody else was allowed to have an opinion because he already had all the answers.🙄

Cradle of Filth - gothic/black metal
The term "epic" should refer to the lyrical themes a band tackles, not be used to describe a musical style! Everyone knows what "epic" means—it’s poetry and epics, stuff you learned back in elementary school—and it reflects the songwriting itself. In the metal scene, people started using it for power metal bands that wrote about grand tales, knights in bright armor, or holy wars... it's about the lyrics, not the music. So many people, even in major US music magazines, use the description completely wrong...
In the case of COB, you could throw "symphonic" in there, since they occasionally use orchestration, operatic female vocals, and things like that...
Children of Bodom is absolutely not melodic death metal... listen to At the Gates, Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, or Dimension Zero and then you'll actually hear what melodic death metal sounds like... COB blended power/heavy metal guitar work (just listen to the solos and the actual riffing on their first two albums), though they leaned more into thrashier guitars on their last two (especially on the latest one, "Hate Crew..."). The vocals have a black metal vibe, even if they lean slightly toward melodic death styles (but it's just a hint, it's definitely not a death vocal)... most people describe them as black/power metal, which works fine... melodic death? Not a chance!
Sure, even if many magazines label COF as "Epic symphonic black metal"... I don't listen to COF enough for it to bother me or for me to get too worked up about it. They have a few good albums and a pretty recognizable sound, but I wouldn't call myself a fan. Still, they're a solid band with a strong backing team (management-wise),
and now that they have their own label (ABRACADAVER), they're basically untouchable.😁
As for COB, yeah, I went too far there. Real melodic death is In Flames, At the Gates, and that crowd. I only group COB under melodic death because that's the genre they fit into most closely in terms of their style, their look, and who they tour with.
COB draws from a ton of different influences like power metal, thrash, and so on...
COB CANNOT BE BLACK METAL, because having SOME black metal elements (like the vocals—which sit right on the line between melodic death and black vocals)—the sound and all that—doesn't mean, and CANNOT mean, that they are black metal. No one can pigeonhole COB as "black." It's a bigger mistake to call them black metal than it is to call them melodic death.

feralstag11 said:I don't even know what I'm listening to anymore.
You guys can interpret it however you want, but if you ask me, it's all just Black metal.
COF, COB, Satyricon, Vader, Immortal, and stuff like that.😁
Honey, what are you even talking about?
COF—EPIC BLACK METAL
COB—MELODIC DEATH
SATYRICON—BLACK METAL
VADER—DEATH METAL
IMMORTAL—they used to do black metal, but now... ehh... they're doing some kind of Black experiment... haha.
Back in elementary school, I started out listening to Doom metal—think Tiamat, Anathema, Morbid Angel, Paradise Lost, stuff like that. Eventually, I drifted toward more brutal sounds... Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Decapitated, Krisiun, Death, you name it. Then I stumbled onto Dream Theater and got hooked on prog rock, which led me down a rabbit hole of their side projects and all sorts of other underground prog bands.
What I really look for in music is just a solid feeling. It doesn't matter if it's Fusion, Funk, Jazz, Blues, or Death, Black, Grindcore, Progressive, Thrash, or Heavy Metal—if the vibe is there, I'm listening.
That said, most of my rotation is definitely metal. If I had to rank my favorite genres, it would go something like this...
Progressive rock (Dream Theater 😁)
Progressive Death and Grind (Death, Decapitated, Nile, Krisiun, Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, etc.)
Black (specifically that nihilistic progressive Black style—Mayhem, Grand Declaration of War, or cult classics like Emperor, Anthems to the Welkins at Dusk, Tartaros, Isengard, and that whole scene...)
I don't exactly love Thrash, Power, or Heavy Metal... BUT I respect them.
I have a soft spot for the classics, obviously... Slayer, Pantera, Iron Maiden, Destruction, Megadeth, Anvil, sa avag...
Power metal isn't my thing.
Cheers.
😁 👍
little_imp said:When you're playing music for the masses—and we're talking about a high school here (I really hope you aren't in middle school, because you're sounding like it)—it’s totally normal to play mainstream stuff that most people can actually stomach.
The single the DJ probably dropped was that Dr. Dre track everyone's been obsessed with lately; it's easily one of the most played singles from this past year. I actually think it was even number one in England for a bit recently (Pocket Venus held that top spot earlier in the year).
The fact that you're stuck in puberty and can't control yourself (and by the way, you still think that makes you look cool) is your problem, not the DJ's...
1. I'm with you there, little_imp. When you say you need to play music for the general public at a high school, it would be freaking IDIOTIC and INFANTILE to blast Immortal or Dark Funeral (😁)
2. That Dr. Dre track is a catchy little tune; I found it pretty funny, even if it isn't my style. But hey, it's fine for walking outside; people will literally Rage if you don't have something decent on. Honestly, I rarely even hear stuff like that since I mostly stay isolated from that kind of music (😁)
hehe
3. One thing though... leave my Gothic music alone.
😎
Edward Robinson6 said:Honestly, schools shouldn't be playing music at all. It’s pointless. There’s always some person trying to force their own crappy taste on everyone else just to act like they have authority.
EXACTLY!👍 👍
I'm with you—keep the music out of schools.

The band I was rambling about is called:
the grand silent system
There, now you know.
I've listened to them... nothing special... I'm pretty much neutral on their stuff... But honestly, I don't get why anyone would start a thread about how much they "hate" them, or begging people not to mention them... I mean, who is even talking about them anyway??😕
Man, people have just lost it.😁
Gothic said:So what, you think the Barons or maybe even Thompson sing better? 😲
No... what I'm actually saying is that the whole thing isn't even worth comparing... that music... is absolute bottom-of-the-barrel trash.
