Solaris said:it feels like this Christian fellow is acting out of pure jealousy😁 😁

Honestly, he’s green with envy! 😁

As far as the topic goes: I found it quite charming 😲 😁
The film was alright, I suppose, but if I’m being honest, I think it only worked because of the heavy hitters in the cast. If they had filled those roles with some unknown actors or even just mid-tier talent, the whole thing would have felt incredibly dull and forgettable.

I actually spent most of the runtime wondering if R. Williams was even going to show up at all—it felt like we were waiting forever for his entrance! But once he finally graced the screen, the movie suddenly gained enough momentum to be worth watching. At the end of the day, the chemistry between him and Pacino is easily the highlight of the production, regardless of how much the script might let you down. 😁

Well, I guess it’s about time you actually found something to enjoy! 😛 😁 😉

Oh, absolutely—Phoenix is fantastic!!! 👍 In my opinion, it might even outshine Potter himself!! 😁 😛

Oh, come on now, please! Suddenly everyone here has transformed into some kind of elite film critic! That snake looked absolutely, undeniably lifelike to me! 🙄 🤮 And then you compare him to Dobby? Give me a break! Honestly, you guys are acting like children. If you actually used your imagination and just let yourselves get swept up in the moment, you wouldn't be jumping out of your seats at every tiny little animation hiccup regarding Dobby, shouting, "Ugh, how tacky!" Please, spare me the elitism! 🙂

Now, I will admit,
Dobby’s animation isn't flawless—it feels a bit stylized to me as well—but if you engage your imagination even just a little bit, he’s perfectly fine!
And he feels real! 😁
Regardless, he’s adorable! 😁 He even has that moment where his strap slips off his shoulder and he pulls it back up! See? That’s exactly what makes it feel authentic! 😁

Aside from the fact that they both feature multiple installments, were released around the same era, and happen to fall under the fantasy umbrella, there really isn't much else connecting them!

I couldn't agree more!

Actually, I haven't gotten around to watching the second one yet.

It is a must watch! 🙂

Jack Harris3 said:I’d go with "something like that." Rickman is just insane.

It isn’t even just about Rickman being great, it’s about Snape himself!!! He’s such a dark, incredibly cool figure... honestly, he’s just legendary...🙏 😁

You think so? Like he isn't pure, unadulterated malice?

I don't know... personally, I don't see it that way. There's something almost artificial about him. I can't quite tell if it's a result of the acting or just the way the character was written, but he feels a bit like a cartoon villain—just perpetually angry and wicked, only to be defeated by everyone at the end while he just stands there going "Damn!" 😁 Regardless, he really resonated with me; you can disagree all you want, but I'm standing my ground on this one! 🙂

And Dobby is so obviously fake that it's painful.

Well, he absolutely IS NOT!! 🙂 😁

Haha, Charles Sanchez6, if we're going by that logic, they'll probably carry that "his name is Potter, Harry Potter" energy all the way to the end: he’ll just happen to be in the right place at exactly the right moment every single time. Or perhaps some other force will just drag him there...

Look, I get it, but when you bundle all those tropes together into one narrative, the whole thing starts to feel rather pathetic—transparent, even, and just incredibly predictable...

Aside from the fact that the visuals are absolutely insane, I could have easily spent the whole time just enjoying the two villains: Snape and the elder Malfoy.

Well, for me, a Snape is everything!! If only he were my uncle or a neighbor or something...😁

Jason Isaacs as Lucius Malfoy is such a perfect fit. He completely blew me away.

Not me! 🙂
To me, he isn't particularly special or mind-blowingly good... nothing out of the ordinary... 🙂

Some friends were raving about Dobby as if he were this massive achievement in computer technology... Please. For me to consider him impressive, the animation would need to look significantly less artificial. Honestly, it might have been better if they had just hired a little person to play the part...

Oh, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about!! 🙂
Pesica, don't be like that!! 😁 😉 Everyone else thinks Dobby is wonderful; you're just being difficult because of your own specific tastes...🙄 😉
It's almost as if you're some high-end CGI specialist looking at the frame rate and spotting every tiny imperfection in the animation. 😛 You managed to fully immerse yourself in every other aspect of the film, yet you can't connect with him? Come on now, pull yourself together, please! 😁

I honestly find it hard to believe that nobody has started a thread about Potter yet! 😉

Or maybe it’s already been done and I just somehow missed it 😁

Regardless, I finally sat down and watched it yesterday.

Here are my thoughts: visually speaking, the film is absolutely flawless, but personally, I found the pacing a bit sluggish and perhaps a touch too fantastical. It felt as though they leaned a little too heavily on certain plot resolutions. It reminded me of how Bond always seems to find a way out of every impossible situation—it’s almost too convenient how he’s always untouchable. That said, even with those gripes, the story remains somewhat digestible as a whole. If I were ten years younger, I suspect I would have absolutely loved it. But at my age? I don't know, I think I preferred the first installment much more...

So, what are your thoughts on it??? 😁

Rating: 3.9 🙂

It’s a genuinely charming little flick. Very much centered on family dynamics. While it doesn't necessarily reinvent the wheel or break any cinematic ground, it remains quite endearing, fun, and deeply romantic...🙂
