Bryan Adams6 said:For those of you wondering how long it actually takes to get your cash out from the sportsbook—just a heads-up on the withdrawal process.

So, I put in a withdrawal request from BetMGM to my PayPal late Sunday night—just before midnight, actually—and now we wait.

The 2 dollars hit my PayPal account on Monday afternoon—took less than 24 hours, actually. Not too bad.

Pulled 3 dollars out of my PayPal around 7:30 last night.

About 4 dollars hit my foreign currency account over at Chase around noon this past Tuesday.

So, they claim it takes anywhere from two to five business days for funds to move from PayPal over to my checking account—which, let’s be honest, usually feels like an eternity—but this actually went through way faster than expected. 👍

Did they end up taking a cut from you?

jadesailor said:So, I ran into a bit of a mess with my PayPal—I had everything set up in the old currency, and since there’s no way to just swap it over, I figured the easiest move was to just close the account and start fresh with USD. Simple enough, right? Wrong. Now I’m stuck in this weird loop where I can't log back in because it says my account is locked, but when I try to sign up for a new one using the same email, it tells me I already have an account. It's one of those classic "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situations. Anyone ever dealt with this kind of headache before? What's the trick to getting out of this loop?

Edit: So, from what I can tell, I can't even open an account using the same email address—which is just incredibly stupid. Now I’m sitting here thinking the bookies are definitely going to mess with me since I didn't fund the account through my PayPal.
edit2: They won't even let me use the same mobile number—honestly, who are these geniuses?

Maybe try clearing your browser cookies—it’s worth a shot, honestly. Sometimes things just get stuck in the cache and acting like nothing's wrong when everything is clearly broken. It’s a classic fix, I know, a bit cliché, but sometimes you just have to wipe the slate clean and see if that does the trick.

The limits are absolutely brutal, man.
I’m pretty sure I just witnessed the slowest customer service interaction in human history. Seriously—if they were any slower, they’d be moving backward.
They’re starting to limit things—just thought I'd mention that. It feels like every time you get a decent rhythm going, some gatekeeper steps in to tighten the leash. Typical, really. Just one of those things you have to expect, I guess.

Do I really need to spell out more reasons? ☕

Every serious tipster worth their salt ends up following him.
Look, as a completely unprofessional tipster myself—if you can even call me that—I’m definitely staying far away from him. ☕

Henry Hayes3 said:I mean, honestly—if you look at any legit betting community site out there, they all have those sidebars with the odds listed right there... just sitting there.

If you're looking for a solid list of actual, legitimate sportsbooks—you know, the kind that won't vanish into thin air when you actually hit a parlay—here’s my take on where people usually land. It's a bit of a minefield out there, honestly, but some names carry more weight than others if you want to avoid the headache. For the big players, most people just stick to the heavy hitters like BetMGM or DraftKings. They've got the apps, they've got the liquidity, and they generally don't give you a hard time when it comes to payouts. If you're more into the massive variety of markets, FanDuel is usually the go-to, though I find their interface can be a little... much, sometimes. Then you have the guys like William Hill, which feels a bit more old-school in spirit, even if everything is digital now. There's also DraftKings if you're looking for those specific deep dives into niche stats. Just a heads up, though—stay away from any site that looks like it was designed in 1998 unless you enjoy fighting with glitchy menus. Stick to the household names if you value your sanity.
A quick rundown of those "hilarious" sportsbooks that love to slap you with limits the second you actually start winning—you know the type.
Honestly, those betting sites are just absolute trash.

DraftKings and FanDuel—they just aren't going to limit you.
And honestly, BetMGM has stepped up their game quite a bit lately—they’re pretty much the biggest player on the planet at this point, and nobody really touches them when it comes to live betting options.

Could you drop a link to those lists? I'm curious which ones you think are solid besides the two you mentioned.

Also, quick question for the group...
The other day, I got this "offer" in my inbox inviting me to join something called "ssport"—and yeah, that was the exact name, no joke. It’s an online sportsbook that uses the exact same logo, font, and color scheme as DraftKings, though from what I can tell, they aren't actually affiliated with them. They claim to have a full casino selection too, so I was wondering if anyone here knows anything about this outfit?
I have no clue how they even got a hold of my email address in the first place...

rustymaker5 said:I am absolutely livid right now, and honestly, here is why: I picked up some expensive Hershey's "griotte" chocolates at Walmart, and let me tell you, they were a total disaster... the candies were gray, sunken, dried out, just completely inedible, and to top it all off, there wasn't even a single label inside the box—you know, that little slip of paper you need if you actually want to file a formal complaint with Hershey! What kind of rights does a consumer even have at this point, other than just staying far away from a company that isn't even half the brand it used to be...😠

I had a similar thing happen with some Koestlin wafers I grabbed at Kroger—I called the factory and told them what happened, and the woman on the line asked me to send over some photos. I snapped them, sent them off, and ended up getting a whole care package of products from them as an apology.

You should try that too. If it was a storage issue, blame the retailer; if it was a manufacturing defect, take it up with the factory.

Roger Patel87 said:Quick question for you guys—is a seller actually legally required to take back an item if the customer realizes the price was way too high after the fact?

😂😂😂🤣

But wait, wasn't the price fine when you actually bought it? And this is all happening within just a few days of the purchase...

Look, just because they screwed him over doesn't mean he gets a free pass to screw them over too...

If you shake hands on one thing and then deliver something completely different—that’s just not how things work. It isn't right.

@Charles Wells71

Regarding those declarations—they usually get sent straight to the company—you know, like one single declaration covering an entire semi-truck load—especially if the goods are coming straight from the factory packed up on pallets

Some flooring comes packed with a mix of long and short planks—maybe 60/40 or 70/30—supposedly because it looks better when you’re laying it down (though honestly, I think it’s just a matter of taste)—and you really ought to mention that to the customer...

With those massive lengths (like 2 or 3 meters), you're going to end up with a ton of scrap during the cutting process, which is why people tend to avoid those sizes... what are the room dimensions, anyway? If you have to cut boards that long down into pieces of a meter or less, the final look is going to be pretty ugly and just won't pass the eye test...

But look, if the deal smells fishy—it stinks... take the money and run!

it was supposed to be steamed oak with an oil finish and a high polish... but instead, we got this absolute disaster. the photo doesn't even do it justice, but honestly, if you felt the difference between these two pieces, it would be night and day.
first, he tries to gaslight us into thinking it's the exact same stuff, claiming he'll just "polish it up" a bit for us... then, when he comes back for the second time, he starts making excuses, acting like he doesn't know anything, yet still insists that the floor needs a final polish after installation.. obviously, none of this bullshit was mentioned when we paid the deposit. on top of all that, about 30% of the planks were only half a meter long when they were supposed to be between 6 and 10 feet long... again, totally unmentioned at the start. the flooring showed up without any actual packaging, just tied together with some cheap plastic straps. because they were stacked so poorly during transit, the edges of some boards turned this weird shade—like they'd been sitting out in the California sun or something.
that polished sample he supposedly made for us is the one on the left in the picture, and trust me, it feels nothing like the mess on the right that we actually ordered.

the price per square foot was $297...

I don't get the whole "I didn't know" excuse
Why does it have to be those specific lengths? You can find premium brands like Bruce or even bamboo and exotic hardwoods for way less money...

😲😲...good grief. Was this somehow custom-made specifically for you guys regarding the dimensions?? You could get way, way better high-end flooring for much less money!

The price tag is insane... honestly, if I were you, I'd be asking for a refund. If he won't budge, call the Better Business Bureau immediately... sent you a DM

Maybe try uploading a larger photo next time... which one is the actual flooring you bought versus just the sample, the left or the right? Also, what kind of hardwood are we looking at—what species, how was it finished? And what did it run you? The more details you can throw my way, the better I'll be able to give you an honest assessment of the situation

What's the actual difference we're talking about here?? Maybe post a photo—or just drop a link if the company has a website—of the display model versus what was actually bought, just so we can compare them side-by-side

Which flooring are you referring to, and what kind of price point are we looking at?

I was actually kind of surprised that Kellogg's doesn't have a dedicated consumer hotline listed... all they provide are just various department numbers 😕

The wafer cookies are packed in a bag—it’ll be quite an experience trying to break them up in this heat...

How does one even ship stuff like this, considering it's food? Can I just grab any random box at the Post Office, or is there a specific way to do it? Could I maybe use FedEx or something similar?

so, if you aren't feeling that one—which, fair enough—which sportsbook actually works for you?

I’m honestly not sure if there's any point in posting here on a thread that’s ten years old—mods, if you could just move this to a more recent discussion if one exists (and maybe let me know once it's moved, please 😁), I'd appreciate it.

So, I picked up some fruit snack squares from Kellogg's and found some black stuff inside them—pretty sure it’s mold. Since this isn't exactly the shopkeeper's fault, but rather something went wrong at the factory level, I'm wondering what my next move should be.

I actually reached out to the consumer protection groups, but they just pointed me toward the inspectors, who then told me to contact the manufacturer... basically, it's just a big circle of people pointing fingers while I'm left standing here looking foolish.

Does anyone know if I'm actually entitled to any kind of compensation? (Not that I can say for sure how many of these bad snack bars I've already eaten, since I didn't notice the dark spots until I'd already bitten into them.

🤦 I honestly can't tell if you're just playing dumb or if you genuinely aren't following what's being said here—I'm starting to suspect you're just trolling for the sake of it...☕

well, that’s really just how the terminology works... if you move from America to live in Australia, you’re an emigrant, but then your kids who get born there later on—they're part of the diaspora, you know what I mean?

Drunkards are just hammering away at the bottom-shelf moonshine... beer isn't even worth their time anymore—they have to go through an entire case just to feel anything 😬

@Christian Miller14

So, what were you actually up to—if you don't mind me asking, of course...
Struggling with independence in Psychology & Therapy ·
That’s not really how things work anymore... I mean, sure, maybe that was the standard back in the day, but in this era of constant internet access and smartphones, you can't expect much. Nowadays, if an applicant doesn't take the initiative to look up the company on their website before even making first contact, they aren't getting very far. They'll probably be stopped at the front gate before they even get an interview

Times have just changed—plain and simple. I'm not saying that in some tiny mom-and-pop shop or a local repair garage you won't see it happen, but honestly, that used to be the exception rather than the rule... In any real corporation I've worked for, you couldn't just show up unannounced and demand to see the CEO

You also forgot to mention that if you actually land a decent position, you’re gonna have to pay some protection money—sort of like a kickback to keep things smooth

I’m honestly not sure which thread this belongs in—this one seems pretty much dead, and the other one is strictly off-limits for questions about moving abroad—so I’ll just ask the mods to move this wherever they think it fits best (and maybe give me a heads-up when it happens)

My question is about these new regulations regarding the LMO. From what I can gather, an LMO is now required for everyone, though if I remember the old rules correctly, you couldn't really get by without one anyway... 😕
Clearly, I’ve missed something here, so I’d appreciate it if anyone in the know could walk me through it—what’s actually changed? What exactly is being restricted now that wasn't before?
Based on everything I've been reading, it doesn't look like they're trying to make it easier to move to the States—if anything, it feels like they're doing the exact opposite.

urbanhawk17 said:I was just moving my funds over to Moneybookers first, and then eventually sending them straight to my Bank—honestly, I didn't even realize there was another way to handle it.

No, honestly—it looks like Moneybookers has finally started acting up big time, especially when it comes to that transaction from... $1000 You're really looking at me like that? Fine, take a look if you must. $67So, you end up with about 2,800 through Bet365—not a bad little haul, I suppose.

Since when has this been happening? I’m wondering if they're actually taking a percentage out of every transaction or if these are just flat fees—it makes a difference. If this becomes their standard way of doing things, it's going to be completely pointless to use them.
