And nah, not everyone fits that stereotype. Not everyone wears cheap knockoffs, flips people off in every photo, or drives an old Mercedes-Benz with an eighteen-year-old engine. Besides, even the ones who do all that? They aren't exactly role models. Honestly, none of them are.

I know the guy who got picked up by the cops personally. He was backing some dude up—just because he's one more bottom-feeding cop enthusiast—and he fits the profile perfectly, both online and IRL. I know his history. I know the people he's caused trouble with. I know how much time they've spent behind bars and exactly why.

Obviously, we shouldn't label a kid riding a bike at 15 as a psychopath, nor is it so dire that no minor should ever touch a motorcycle. I'm just saying, from what I've seen, these are the types who'll clock 70 mph through a neighborhood where kids are playing. I personally know two people who grew up with that "lifestyle" and ended up causing massive wreckage. One literally cut a woman in half with reckless driving through a residential area, and the other—after years of terrorizing neighborhoods—ended up killing both themselves and their passenger.

What an absolute fool. 🙏

Aren't they just a collection of misguided individuals? It seems to me they are often people with limited opportunities who harbor grand ambitions they can't quite reach—perhaps having squandered their chances through education or career paths—yet they find themselves irresistibly drawn to a certain lifestyle. Consequently, they end up on the fringes of society, drifting into a gray area at best. I don't necessarily think these guys are inherently evil, but rather that their circumstances mold them into who they are, though that certainly isn't an excuse for their actions.

This isn't directly related to what happened here in the States, but I wonder if any of you caught that YouTube video regarding the attack on the Vanguard CEO back in New York about six months ago? If you look closely at his profile, everything becomes crystal clear. Out of the three individuals who assaulted the security guard, two are currently serving time and one didn't make it out alive. Even in a different country and coming from entirely different families, isn't it striking how similar the psychological makeup can be?

I wrote that just to make a point. My argument is that we shouldn't hand everything to kids on a silver platter because it often backfires; they fail to appreciate what they have, they lose respect for their parents, and they grow up expecting the world to serve them everything without effort.

Of course, things might have turned out differently; perhaps he would have lost his mind and caused some sort of catastrophe if he had been spending five hours a day meditating at a Shaolin temple since he was a child, but the core idea remains: children shouldn't be allowed to have every single whim catered to.

As Zinedine Zidane pointed out, there isn't much left to say about this situation. It reminds me of that recent tragedy involving the young woman; it’s often those who seem to have everything handed to them on a silver platter who struggle most to value what they actually possess. If these people had been sent out to work a field instead of driving around in Mercedes-Benz cars since they were eighteen, wouldn't they be thinking quite differently?

I’d love to hear everyone's thoughts on the current state of the political subreddits. Honestly, what’s been going on lately just doesn't feel right, does it?

It seems like one side is constantly getting hit with warnings, bans, or deleted posts, while the other side gets a free pass to say whatever they want, from blatant insults to relentless trolling. The criteria being applied are incredibly biased; I truly believe there isn't a single thread on this entire platform where you won't find such glaring double standards.

Most of the conservative or right-leaning users have already moved on from this site because they refuse to participate in this kind of environment, and while I know I could easily just stay quiet, I find myself tempted to speak up—only to risk getting a warning or a ban simply because my views don't align with the moderators' ideology.

What is the actual purpose of targeting users who don't echo the moderators' opinions? I suppose the goal is to transform this community into a complete echo chamber where no conservative or right-wing perspectives are allowed to exist, which is perfectly fine if you actually believe that's a healthy or balanced way to run an online space.

There are two moderators who are actually fair and professional, but that's far too few to make a difference.

What exactly do you mean by "depending on how they conduct themselves"? Does that imply that insulting organizations run by unknown is acceptable if their behavior warrants it? If I personally feel their actions are misguided, am I then permitted to label them accordingly? If we allow such scrutiny for Catholic groups, shouldn't that same standard apply to every other organization out there? Surely we wouldn't want to be accused of hypocrisy, would we?

Just shut everything down, pull the plug on the internet, and call it a day; there's really no point in anything else at this stage.

I just wanted to drop a quick note to recommend the series Mr. Robot—it is truly fantastic, just absolutely brilliant. The story follows Rami Malek, who spends his days working at an IT firm while moonlighting as a hacker by night. Wouldn't you agree that it’s well worth your time? It currently holds a solid 8.8/10 on IMDb, though if you ask me, the show easily deserves at least a 9.5/10.

It seems like nobody is watching anything lately, so...

The Nice Guys - an absolute disaster of a crime film, truly dreadful, about as thrilling as watching a bottom-tier NFL preseason game, 3/10
Warcraft - another total catastrophe, 3/10
The Brothers Grimsby - just as much of a wreck, 4/10
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - 6.5/10, and even that is only because I was thirsting for this movie like a man dying of dehydration...
Pawn Sacrifice - 9/10, especially if you have any interest in chess.
The Big Short - 8/10, more than just a good film; the ensemble cast is simply fantastic.
Demolition - 7/10, a decent enough watch where Gyllenhaal’s wife passes away and he loses his mind, eventually meeting a quirky woman working in customer service and bonding with her and her gay son. It just moves at such a glacial pace that it really could have been thirty minutes shorter.

Anyway, I finally got my hands on The Man Who Knew Infinity yesterday, which tells the story of Ramanujan, the Indian mathematician who published groundbreaking work despite having no formal education—for instance, one of his theorems wasn't actually proven until 2012, though the man passed away back in 1920. You wouldn't find it on the usual streaming sites or in theaters, mainly because it isn't the kind of film that benefits from flashy Hollywood marketing. I'd highly recommend reading his biography before diving in. I'll be getting to it in the next few days.

As for TV series, I've been watching Preacher, and while it certainly has its merits, I'm currently on the penultimate episode of the first season and finding the pacing to be agonizingly slow.

Anyway, moving on, I've watched two excellent films recently:

Ex Machina — a sci-fi masterpiece, a solid 10/10 for me.
Redirected — a comedy with some wild scenes, also a 10/10.

I considered deleting this post, but I decided against it; I won't dwell on politics anymore, but I simply couldn't resist responding to this specific point. I can certainly talk more about movies, or series—there's a great new one out regarding the subject, Limitless, starring Bradley Cooper.🙏
