Alright, let me try to jump back into this topic... How is it that in America, we just don't seem to have any real "spiritual" "techniques"? The "reason" behind it is honestly the same thing you see with those fake "meditation" trends out there: Basically,
The US is way too much on the yang side of things! Even women here in America—they’re becoming increasingly yang nowadays! It's all about "making an impact"—which is exactly what yang energy fights for!
yin---------------------------------------------yang 🤔 receiving---------------------------------------giving accepting---------------------------------------rejecting learning----------------------------------------not learning feeling-----------------------------------------rationalizing succeeding--------------------------------------trying entering meditation naturally------concentrating (hard) being intuitive------------------being rational not proving anything---------------proving oneself implosion-------------------------being explosive! simply being----------------------applying techniques not fighting-----------------------fighting! asking questions------------------claiming to know perception------------------------collecting knowledge
And when someone caught up in the American crowd hits a crisis of their own yang identity—maybe through stress (too much yang) or emotional outbursts (a flood of suppressed yin)🙂 they immediately pivot toward some yang-style course or a yang-driven technique!
Or they grab some yang book by a yang author, looking for a yang technique to get an instant yang boost for their current state! Even "meditation" falls into this trap! Most American products fall under the yang category: pay-to-use techniques, mantras, or hiring a yang teacher: meditation classes, yoga, aerobics, and even the rise of various yang-style yoga cults! 😁
In the US, maybe only Tai Chi, certain martial arts, or Aikido actually attempt (at least!) to be yin! 😂
And that is exactly "why" true spiritual development has never really taken root in America.🙂
Real meditation is actually about deep concentration, not just zoning out and getting lost in some daydreaming haze.
Not quite! Real meditation actually sits right in the sweet spot between those two extremes. And honestly, meditation is always going to be that middle ground between two states! The thing you're describing is just pure concentration! Because if we think about it, true meditation is a STATE OF CONSCIOUSNESS, not just a mental exercise!
quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Amanda Evans29 says: Concentration? Isn't that what causes cancer? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nah, but maybe you'll get an inflammation or something. That would actually make sense if a rudimentary organ like your brain—which is basically offline anyway—suddenly started working overtime.
Man, Alexander Parker69, you gluttonous hound, thinking meditation is all about mental focus... 🙂 😂 Look, I don't need concentration to meditate! I need awareness! Alexander Parker69 is just barking at nothing again. 🙂
Are we seriously talking about Chaldean Kabbalah? Please tell me you don't mean that fake Jewish nonsense cooked up back in the 13th century.
I honestly half-expected you guys to start preaching some Celtic spiritualist garbage at me next! Or maybe even our dear friend Žika! Man, what a bunch of Jesam-ti-židovs! Total race traitors! 😁
First off, let's get one thing straight: nobody actually found enlightenment through those "Western" spiritual techniques! (And honestly, they didn't find it out "West" either)
The psychiatrist basically explained that the whole Eastern approach to spirituality doesn't really click with the average American. It’s mostly because our subconscious archetypes—the stuff we're hardwired with—are fundamentally different from people living in the Far East. Diving deep into those Eastern spiritual practices can actually be pretty damaging to an American's psyche because you end up triggering all these mismatched archetypes. To top it off, the doctor mentioned that if this guy had just turned to a local Christian church instead, he probably never would have run into these specific mental health issues in the first place!
If they actually caught a glimpse of their god, whoever the hell 😂 that might be, there’s no way they’d still believe!
Personally, whenever I see those little bugs circling a lightbulb on my wall like they're praying to it, I just grab the bulb and fry them. It’s my way of giving them a tiny taste of what their god and their North Star actually look like!
