Moderator Statement: PDF Politics in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I won't go into all the details.
But it’s pretty telling that none of you even brought up the other guy (linked).

To wrap things up.
They're both hypocrites: just different packaging for the same crap. 👎

A thumbs down for both of them. Honestly, it isn't even this good...

I steer clear of local topics because of people like this. A massive detour...

Look, you aren't an editor or a moderator here, so I’d appreciate it if you didn't try to police the forum's editorial policy. I'm just waiting on the actual admins to weigh in on my original post.

And that’s exactly the issue! It’s because of stuff like this—redundant, triple, even quadruple threads—that the whole online community gets cluttered...

Anyway, I actually posted about this on Reddit recently, but nobody seems to care.
(So now I've just stopped posting in all those threads where I used to show up almost every single day)...

The forum is public, and so is this discussion. As long as I follow the rules and stay on topic, I should be allowed to share my opinion...🐔

That's all.

Is there already a thread about Mexico? There is .
Why bother starting a new one when you can just drop a link and a quick comment in the existing Mexico thread?

The whole forum is getting cluttered with endless variations of the same topic...

Madrid?
They aren't offering California anything besides a massive ego trip.

Goodness.
First off, I've already laid out the background on this whole referendum...

Second...
California already enjoys plenty of autonomy, just like the rest of the states. They don't need a separate country. And honestly, France and Germany will never recognize some self-proclaimed Californian state anyway (everyone else in the European Union will just follow their lead).

Third... maybe try reading the Spanish news for once. It might clear things up for you...

Oh, absolutely. 😁
I’m actually about to declare my own little republic in Miami, complete with a parliament based in Hawaii. President (me), Secretary (my cat), Treasurer (my dog).

Betty Ross6 said:we'll see, but you can smell trouble on the horizon. maybe the Californian resistance won't even be that big of a deal. it would help them if they could get the Basques on board too, better odds with two groups instead of one, considering they're some of the oldest people on the continent. besides, there are plenty of Californians against it and a ton of newcomers just trying to live their lives...

If they manage to win over the Catalans and Basques on the French side, well, then they'd be in real trouble...
Just pure nonsense.
California Discussion Thread - All in one place in European Union ·
They won't allow it. And honestly, they have every right to say no.
If Madrid declares the referendum unconstitutional—which they absolutely will—the Catalans will be left with one choice: declaring independence unilaterally. But then nobody will recognize them. Period.

Here's the backstory...
Back during those regional elections in November 2012, Mas didn't secure a majority. So, he pivoted to grab votes from the next biggest party: the ERC, the separatists. To win them over, he had to promise to call a referendum.
The fallout from that deal is this exact mess we're seeing now. He can't back down, because doing so would be pure political suicide...

For Mas, the smartest move—a way to save face—is exactly what the Spanish government is doing: ruling the referendum unconstitutional. That way, he can tell his partners at the ERC tomorrow that he kept his word, fought like a true Catalan lion 😬, and fulfilled every agreement. It’s just that, alas, Madrid wouldn't let him...

Oh boy...

This guy keeps following me around, calling me a paid shill. It's a total obsession!

Right now, everyone's talking about @Palestinian children.
I keep filing reports, over and over. But they just get deleted every single time. Then he's right back at it the next day on at least two different threads. Well, I guess why not, when nothing gets deleted and nobody ever gets punished...

@supermod has all the tools; maybe take a look at those posts from this clone of a clone. If I can't quote the comments because the mod wipes them out, surely the supermod has access.

So much for the clones...

Paul Kern12 said:The links are in Cyrillic because that's how they're written in Russia, and most of those links are Russian sites anyway. What's the big deal?...🤷

It’s honestly pretty questionable when a commenter clearly doesn't know a single thing about the Russian language or even recognize their Cyrillic script... they have absolutely no clue what the text in that link actually says. Just fire up Google Translate to get an English version, then slap on a headline that only makes sense to them: "take over Peter the Great"... 😂
To be honest, I didn't have a clue what he was even trying to say, even in English...
That wasn't the only one either... though that last one definitely gave me a good laugh!

If you don't understand the language, the alphabet, or even how Google Translate is handling it... just don't post the link! ...
On the contrary...
Let's dive into some Chinese links—which we definitely don't understand. Then, we can throw the titles into Google Translate to see them in Basque... which we also won't know. Just keeping things on topic, day after day, across all these different threads...

First off: did you report those inappropriate posts using the flag icon? No doubt about it???
If you already did, I must have missed it! If you don't mind, maybe do it again or just shoot me a DM... if not, please report them and we'll see how things go.

Of course I reported them!
There's zero doubt here. This isn't even the first time. Last time, the guy just made a whole new profile right after getting banned and kept posting on the same thread...
What kind of message does that send to the rest of us? 🙂

Charles Fox10 said:Second: an anonymous poll is just a poll, so how would you even know if someone voted with their main account and then again with a clone??

I didn't say anyone was voting with both their main and a clone... + though I really hope people can't vote once their main account is banned. That would be a total joke! I just meant that people keep voting even when they're banned from the thread!

My actual point was: how many clones do the non-banned users have, and how often are they voting like that?

Basically, this poll is pointless. But hey, I mentioned that at the very start of the thread...
And specifically that question: "in this conflict?" (really?!). Which one? 🙂 This conflict hasn't just started yesterday, for goodness sake!

Charles Fox10 said:Third: this is the PŽK, so political debate isn't exactly......

This isn't some political debate at all.
I was just stating facts regarding the Hamas military wing, the EU, and the US as an ally... We should stick to the facts. Simple as that.

So, @Charles Fox10/">@@Charles Fox10, I hope that answers everything!

P.S. @rowdytiger13/">@@rowdytiger13, much respect for the patience shown in this thread. He stayed dignified despite all the ad hominem attacks. May his harvest be plentiful and his wine always sweet!🙂

One more thing regarding the poll.

There are quite a few people from Canada on this thread. Regardless of whether they're atheists or not, they're pretty much all against Israel. So, how realistic is this survey really? And does it even make sense to have someone in charge—someone who actually approved the poll—answering it?
That sounds harsh, I know. But someone has to say it, even if it means getting a strike 😁. We can't just play dumb forever.
you can fool me once ....

That's all.
I tried to provide some broader context here. If you need any clarification, I'm right here.

William Bennett53 said:Alright, this is veering way too far into the Israel-Palestine conflict instead of actually discussing thread moderation, and it's just not going to fly.
The points have been made, so if there’s nothing else left to say on the topic, I suggest we wait for the higher-ups here to wrap things up...

I've got a few thoughts to add...

First off, how is someone who was banned for accusing people of being paid trolls allowed to keep posting on this exact same thread using a clone account? Even if their main handle is blocked, it still happens...

Second, what is even the point of a poll if people can keep voting and commenting right after a ban? It makes the whole thing feel pointless...

Third, Hamas isn't a terrorist organization, though its military wing is. That's the official stance for the EU, which we are part of...

Absolute rock bottom... when a commenter writes: "Well said, Mr. Adolf..." @Jamie Barrett7/">@@Jamie Barrett7... 😠
The comment was deleted, which was definitely the right call. But the user is still posting away... meanwhile, if anyone else dropped a comment like that or even something remotely similar, they'd be slapped with a multi-day ban...

It’s just the same old cycle over and over: Nazis, fascists, Zionist teenagers, Zionist fascist thugs...

Same here. Once the commentator starts... Just a quick note... Well, I guess I'm just talking to myself here...

And then you all go ahead and complain about @modu being biased...!

Just making some quick edits...
And that whole ad hominem thing from yesterday... I won't even go there. Absolute rock bottom...

Given how heavy this topic is, I think the moderators are doing a solid job.

@Susan Price30/">@@Susan Price30,
what exactly are you commenting on here?
are you critiquing the moderation on a thread you aren't even active in, or just picking on a commenter?

"enough said" (basically translates to: "I have no clue, but I'll say something anyway").

Honestly, this whole thing should probably be locked...
What would happen if the mods went on strike? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
It makes absolutely no sense.

Who would they even strike against? Are they going after themselves?
They aren't getting paid, and there's nothing keeping them in those mod roles... unless their entire career consists of being an unpaid supermod on a forum where the main job is just dealing with 404s, 503s, and 504 errors...
Forum Defender Project in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Since every camp would just pick "their own" defender, we’d basically need twice as many...
Then we’d end up needing "authorized defenders" just to protect us from the forum defenders themselves!

In short...
If we don't want this forum to turn into a massive arena for defenders vs. anti-defenders, or defenders fighting other defenders, and lose its actual purpose—which is having real discussions—against it!

If someone did that in a normal conversation, or in a chatroom, and did it in absolutely every single post—I haven't checked their full history, so I wouldn't know—then maybe.
But like this? Honestly, I think it's perfectly okay.
Anyway, I guess I might even do the same thing myself sometimes (though admittedly, only when I really want to emphasize something) 😳
