I'll be as objective as I can...

First off, Cyrillic shouldn't even be on this forum. Whether it’s a moderator, a supermod, or just some random commenter... especially in certain threads. It's just irritating.

Second.
Knowledge of any foreign script is great. Be it Cyrillic, Chinese characters, or anything else. Anyone who hasn't realized that probably hasn't traveled further than their local corner store. Honestly, they've never left the sticks...

The point is: we need to separate politics from linguistics. We shouldn't be opening these kinds of debates at all, whether it's coming from one side or the other.
Cyrillic is a beautiful script (useful for other languages, too, like Russian), so let's not drag it into politics...

Oh, come on Charles Fox10, stop lecturing us!
I've been complaining about this for months. Months!!
You have my IP, you have Rambo's IP... you know perfectly well we aren't the same person.

It’s honestly disgusting, not to mention that "satisfaction" comment from a few days ago. I haven't seen such filth in ages. Except here.
Of course, they just deleted it.

So you do delete things?
Obviously you do—gotta protect your own. Everyone else would have been banned ages ago.

I'm done. This hypocrisy is just sickening.

Good luck to you all. I'm out of here... goodbye.
(I left The Washington Post, then I left The New York Post... I don't see how you guys are any better.)

I'm certainly not giving you any credit for this one, @rustydrifter10.

"....and look at Rambo, she's just projecting her own reality and rambling about some schizophrenic delusions that only exist in her head....."

Will one of the moderators on the Syria thread finally clarify that I am NOT Rambo?!
You have my IP and you have hers. Enough already! 😠

If I started calling people Joe, Steve, or Herb, I’d be banned before I could even blink...
bolddriver21 said:While everyone’s busy staring at Syria, the European Parliament just passed a resolution calling out Russia for those geopolitical power plays—basically trying to bully and sabotage countries in their orbit from getting any closer to the West.

In just a few weeks, the big players for the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius (http://www.eu2013.lt/en/vilnius-summit)) will be gathered, where Europeans are set to sit down with leaders from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyiv, Moldova, and Georgia.
The actual outcome of this summit is probably going to be anyone's guess, though I'm sure the spokespeople will have some polished nonsense ready to go by then.

Eastern Partnership

Who knows if Kyiv will actually sign the Association Agreement?
Will Moldova and Georgia end up ratifying it?
And what does the future of European policy look like in the space surrounding Russia?

Back when the idea for the Eurasian Union first popped up in 2009, Belarus was mostly left out in the cold, Azerbaijan didn't give a damn, and Armenia just kept dragging its feet and nitpicking everything.

Fast forward to today, and Armenia is openly talking about joining the Eurasian Union.
Georgia is still weighing its options because Abkhazia and South Ossetia are firmly under Russian control. Tbilisi is stuck between a rock and a hard place, trying to balance things while eyeing NATO.

The summit will proceed without... French President Nicolas Sarkozy, along with British and Spanish Prime Ministers Gordon Brown and José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero..."

As long as this guy gets away with his behavior—and gets his posts about how he "satisfied" a fellow user deleted without any actual consequences—he and his buddies will keep posting total nonsense. They know they're untouchable...

There needs to be zero tolerance for people like that. And for the mods who cover for them by scrubbing their insults instead of handing out bans. No excuses...

Kudos to the Facebook generation, but honestly, hitting like is just noise.

If you're on my side, I'm liking it. If not... well, dislike. Just pure muscle memory at this point.

What purpose would that even serve on a forum where people just use clone accounts while the admins look the other way? (I mean, as long as you don't have two clones of a banned user in the same thread, everything is technically "by the book," right?)
None at all...
Complaint about user "VALLEY in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Sophia Vaughn2 said:I’m requesting that this user be stripped of her moderator duties immediately. I’ve been watching her handle things for a while now, and she simply isn't up to the task. Her judgment is incredibly biased, and she actually promotes discrimination against certain groups while conveniently ignoring rule violations whenever the offender is a religious person.

Thanks!

What evidence do you actually have to support the claim that @VALLEY is being subjective as a mod?
Is it just because you say so? 🙄

Arguments don't matter here, apparently. All that matters is your subjective claim about her subjectivity.

Nonsense.

As for PL, the commentator and moderator, I only know him from the World and Discussion PDFs...
A perfectly decent moderator.
An interesting commentator with deep knowledge, always worth a read. Quite unlike some of his colleagues over on the World and Discussion forums...

Whether I agree or disagree with his takes, I can say one thing about his moderation: chapeau!

Calling this the "PL case" is just being dramatic—it’s an exaggeration...

A comment from... @Justin Harris12Just so you know, it’s always the victim... typical...

I really think we need to stay focused on the main topic here... Let's not get distracted by minor details!

In short...
The Netherlands and France... They’re really pushing for a ban on Islamic sirens...Setting those numbers aside for a moment... the real question remains... Which Islam are we even talking about...?!
Is it the guy responsible for the killing of Vincent van Gogh in the Netherlands? Or that sect trying to parade through France in burkas and niqabs, just making everyone feel uneasy in public...

That kind of Islam really ought to be banned...
It’s not actually Islam that we're talking about—it's the ideology, Islamism. There's simply no room for that kind of thing here in America...
France made all the right calls...

Moving forward...
The weakening of democracy... and everything the people fought so hard for...
Do you honestly believe the French fought to strip the church of its power just so they could roll out the red carpet for Salafists and Wahhabis today...?

And now you’re acting like the victim on the forum?!...

rowdytiger13 said:Because it’s pointless. Everyone who tries ends up getting baited into an argument and handed a ban, which is clearly the end game.
Personally, I just get sent links packed with nothing but biases and falsehoods, often paired with being addressed as "OP" as if I'm not even worthy of a proper username.
If I had fired back with links showing those same kinds of prejudices regarding Islam (which are certainly present), there would be a massive uproar here; yet, if I actually reported them, people would start screaming about defending freedom of speech and expression (which has happened before).
Just more of the same...

I said the exact same thing on those French forums a few years back: "Eh, I just couldn't bring myself to care..."
It looks like it's spreading... And here we are, just giving up...
Just wait ten years... They'll be everywhere on every single platform, while we're nowhere to be found... 😬

That's enough said on the matter...
Religion & Anti-religion subforum: the same old crowd and Meadow in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Justin Harris12 said:I am formally requesting a review of a user's report regarding the religion sub-forum. This individual filed a complaint within the appeals book instead of using the designated thread for reports, which led to a moderator named Meadow warning them about spamming.

The rhetoric being used over there—especially those caricatures of Muhammad being posted—has crossed every possible line. If you all are looking for trouble with the police, fine, go ahead, but I’m warning you now: things are boiling over in that thread, and it might just end that way.
If the site administration decides to shut down the forum to investigate whether there are criminal grounds for filing hate speech charges, or if they decide whether this platform actually tolerates such content, don't come crying to me. I'm not the one at fault here.

Maybe we should invite the owner, Anderson, to drop by the forum once his bank account runs dry and the site goes dark. These aren't empty threats; I'm not making threats. I'm simply saying I intend to seek advice from a local Islamic association. We are going to review everything, and then we will decide whether or not to take this to the authorities.

This isn't something that can be swept under the rug, and everyone involved will have to answer legally for their actions.

I have tried to handle this politely, civilly, and strictly according to the forum rules by attempting a diplomatic solution internally. However, it's clear to me that this issue is being ignored and there is no desire to address the very problem I warned you about.

By the way, are you going to ask that local group if everyone who disagrees with the "beauties" of Sharia law (as your buddy put it) needs to be immediately slapped with cardboard boxes and .... Pozdrav!']punished?
Though, honestly, we should probably be grateful since, hey, Sharia would be introduced gradually. Just so the rest of us non-Muslims don't commit collective suicide. You'd give us time to adjust...
Wow, how generous!

While you're at it, ask that group about implementing Sharia in Canada when they hit 80% (see the link above)—would that be gradual too, or what?

That’s not how it works.

Sharia isn't happening in Europe. Nor is any other theocracy. Not today, not tomorrow, forget it!
Europe is secular. It will stay that way, whether you like it or not...
Changing my username and not hiding it in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I’m not usually a fan of cloning, but what happened here is perfectly fine. As far as I can tell, the guy wasn't under a Permaban at the time.

The real issue is when you deal with a clone of a clone of a cloned, Permabaned user who was already Permabaned. Specifically, looking at the PDF World (Lebanon, Iraq, Syria) situation.
The moderators know exactly what's going on, they just choose to look the other way...
Religion & Anti-religion subforum: the same old crowd and Meadow in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Just wanted to share this thought.

@meadow is such a tactful, patient moderator, and she puts so much time and effort into the Religion sub. Honestly, way too much, if you ask me. It's just too much, considering how ungrateful everyone is being—myself included. I just don't want her to burn out and walk away from everything...
Why is the "Question" section being closed? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
To feels more like a personal vendetta to me. People keep bringing up these "phantom" users, but there are really only about ten people involved in threads like this... and it’s always the same crowd.

There are tens of thousands of active commenters out there.
Those ten or so folks who flood these specific topics with dozens of posts—making it look like a huge group—are just venting their own personal grievances. It's nothing more than a reflection of bruised egos...

Not a great look.

Honestly, everyone should just meet up at a Starbucks, get into a massive brawl, and pull each other's hair. Then, just say goodbye and head back to the forums to debate exactly who pulled whose hair or landed the low blows...

I get why we shouldn't meddle.
But...
When they start pushing the exact same lies on the World PDF right after the session on religion... enough is enough.
It's a lie that's incredibly easy to fact-check, btw.

And then they have the nerve to complain? Honestly... 🙄
Adding a "Like" button and similar features in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I honestly don't mind paying a little something...
As long as it isn't for a bloated inbox (not really here for the DMs), Verizon status, or any of those other gimmicks. I mean strictly technical upgrades for the site...

On some other sites, like Reddit, they collect donations toward the end of the year. There’s always enough to go around (to give the owner a nice little bonus for Christmas 😁). But instead of bank transfers, they just use PayPal or credit cards.

Since there are quite a few of us living out of state, how could we even contribute via traditional transfers? 🙄

PS. Speaking of which, whenever I hear about Facebook, I'm totally out!
Are you actually a clone of Rambo? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
@admin/">@@admin,

Since you're already stopping by to clear out the spam, maybe you could also deal with that one troll on the Iran thread? The absolute king of clones...
Or are we just going to keep playing pretend?

It’s exactly like what happened on the Russia thread.
That same master troll is still over there rambling about certain groups of people.
And even here.
What does any of this have to do with the Russia thread?

It just keeps going. His famous "list of nations" that he claims we—some supposed Zionists—hate. It's the same thing in every single comment. And absolutely nothing happens.

Meanwhile, if anyone else speaks up, boom—instant ban for trolling.

The PDF World section has a few threads getting just as much traffic as the main headlines, but you guys just ignore every single critique.
Why is that, I wonder?...

The PL hasn't been around for a while now.
That’s exactly why the state of the discussions in the world of themes I mentioned is such a disaster...
Which is why I'm turning to the rest of the admin team.

Everyone has their favorites when it comes to commenters.
But there has to be a limit... some things just go too far.

How many clones can one permanently banned user run on a single thread?

I've counted at least six so far (the last time a Scot actually called out the clones)

Why isn't the current moderator doing anything? Is he clueless or just ignoring it?

People here are getting mocked for saying they don't have time for an "unban," claiming they need time to discuss it instead.
We all know how to handle clones who keep insulting people on the same thread. But there's zero response. Even though, according to the rules, no discussion is even necessary.

This has gone way too far...

One last thing, who is the supermod over on the Iran and Syria thread?
