This isn't a Nazi thread... But the hate speech and conspiracy theories? Those are definitely present. The moderation on this topic really needs to step up a notch...
The question is just way too broad to give a simple yes or no answer.
It all hinges on how much the local culture differs from what you're used to back home. It's a massive difference whether you're moving to Saudi Arabia versus somewhere like France or Australia...
P.S. That statement by the Australian Prime Minister was totally taken out of context and misinterpreted, etc. He was actually addressing people calling for Sharia law in Australia—not every single immigrant!

Out of all the online forums I hang out in, this one is definitely the best moderated... The thoroughness, the solid arguments, the level of literacy and class in the replies... they always have their eyes on the forum. Even when they aren't physically there, they are. It really sets the standard for all the other mods out there...
For instance, I feel judged by people who have steak or burgers in their avatars. But honestly, I'm not asking to ban them. Their choice of imagery doesn't glorify war criminals or genocide, nor does it incite hate toward anyone else.
If the admin decides to go ahead with this baseless demand to ban certain avatars, she should explain her reasoning... clearly and with actual arguments, without all the empty rhetoric.
How can anyone let this kind of plagiarism slide?!...

Tomorrow, April 12th... it’s happening all over again! That whole issue with the alleged payments. Reported, penalized... it just goes on and on... I suppose we should start looking at the numbers now... It's all coming together!
A week later and we're right back to those same old rumors about my paycheck...
It’s not about the cardboard, for heaven's sake!... 🙂 It’s always the same people... posting those exact same comments about payments over and over again. And they just let them get away with it indefinitely. It makes me wonder... how much longer can this actually go on?!

First off... Can we merge these two threads? It feels redundant to have the same discussion split up like this.
Second... Could we start a dedicated thread just for Israel? There's so much interesting news coming out of there—everything from high tech and science to literature, movies, and archaeology. (If every other country gets its own space, it’s only fair that Israel does too)
As for the conflict itself, we could just keep using the existing combined thread, Israel-Palestine II (we can easily fold those four pages from the duplicate thread into it)
I really think this would make things easier for everyone interested and keep the board much cleaner... Plus, it would stop people from posting the same repetitive comments about the conflict, the causes, and the politics across two different places.
P.S. A few people already suggested this on the main thread. I'm just stepping up to formalize it because I think it's a great idea!
I just don't see how these kinds of graphics and analytics would actually benefit users... what are we even supposed to do with all this data? 🤷 And frankly, there's zero indication of how this will fix the legendary mess that is this site's functionality...
Question for the OP: how exactly do we define worker self-management? I want to make sure we're all on the same page... are we talking about abstract concepts here, or something with a concrete definition?
btw. In my experience, labor unions have way more actual leverage than those old "worker councils" or similar bodies ever did. Those things were basically just for show... in reality, they’d just rubber-stamp whatever the CEO demanded.

No... It’s such an insult when someone intentionally twists your words just to avoid actually proving their point... And it’s even worse when they use those distortions to claim "etc., etc." like they've won the argument!
