And what, you don't get sick to your stomach over Bush's policies? Doesn't it make you want to throw up?

So, I work at a place where they basically nag you to get vaccinated, but honestly? I passed on it. It’s not even a needle phobia thing—not at all, I can handle a shot just fine—it’s just that the whole logic doesn't sit right with me. Look, I get it, the shot is supposed to cover the specific influenza strains expected this season, but let's be real: the protection isn't even foolproof. You’re still going to catch something; it might just mean the symptoms aren't quite as brutal.

And from what I've gathered through the office grapevine, almost all my coworkers who actually went through with the shot ended up getting sick just a week later and had to stay home anyway.
Elizabeth Ruiz2 said:So, Jelic operated on my grandma, right? And he just... left some wire inside her. When she started getting all swollen up a few days after the surgery, this guy—pardon my French, but he’s hands down the biggest moron in the entire medical field—actually had the nerve to tell her it was all in her head. Said she was just imagining things.

They ended up having to reopen her up... and lo and behold, there it was. Actual wire sitting right there inside her. 😠
She didn't sue him or anything. She's a tough old lady and just didn't want the headache of a legal battle, but honestly? If that had happened to me, I would've made his life a living hell.

Ugh, god, I just love those "expert medical opinions." So helpful, aren't they?🙄

Has anyone else (unfortunately) dealt with this mess? How do you actually manage it? And I’m not talking about those weird, one-off glitches that pop up once in a blue moon. I mean the heavy stuff—the kind of disruptions that are just... there. Every single day. Part of your actual life.
For me, it's specifically this obsessive hand-washing thing.

Listen, what you're dealing with falls under the whole neurosis umbrella. Don't freak out, though. It's totally manageable with SSRIs and what they call "behavioral therapy" over here in the States. Just go see a psychiatrist. And honestly? Don't listen to the guy above who's telling you to just see a psychologist. In a case like this, a psychologist is only gonna get you halfway there. Good luck.
Is marijuana actually a drug? in Health ·
mistyhound2 said:Is marijuana even worth debating? Like, should it be banned or legalized once and for all?
Me and my buddies are getting blasted every single day until our brains turn to mush. We get so high we actually start feeling stupid, so we figured we had to drop a question about whether this relaxation stuff should just be legal or not.
Stay stoned, your local legend mistyhound2🙂 🙂

Man, give me a break. That’s total nonsense.🙄 You’ve got a serious problem, dude. If you think acting like some edgy burnout makes you cool, then you’re just a kid who hasn't grown up yet. Actually, let's be real—you *are* just an immature kid.🙄
Can't sleep! in Health ·
shadowgardener12 said:God, this is just brutal 😢

I’ve been struggling for days now—either I can't drift off at all, or I pass out for maybe two hours before I'm wide awake again, kind of like what happened today. Now I’m actually terrified of even getting into bed because I know I won't crash until sunrise and then I'll be late for work. So I spend the whole day feeling like a zombie, try to nap in the afternoon, and then—surprise, surprise—I can't sleep then either.
I mean, okay, one night I had a few too many drinks, and honestly? That actually helped. 😁
But obviously, I can't exactly get hammered every single night. 🙂
At this point, I’m thinking about just stopping sleeping entirely to see who wins this little standoff: my insomnia or me. 🙂
I have no clue what's going on with me. What is happening???

Anyway, now that I've finished my little venting session, I am wide open to any constructive suggestions on how to finally sleep like a baby again.
Thanks a million in advance! 🙂

hehe, you just reminded me of that thing, Insomnia... I can't sleep...
Kenneth Hernandez67 said:Here’s the report from his doctor regarding those prescriptions:

Patient is deteriorating; showing confusion, psychomotor agitation, and intense fear. He’s clearly acting under the influence of delusions he openly admits to having.

The ductus in longer explanations is fractured.

Under obvious influence of hallucinatory delusions.

Intellect and memory remain intact.

Rx:
Akineton 2x2 mg
Zyprexa 2 x 5 mg
Aurorix 2,1
Diazepam 3 x 10 mg
Prazine 3 x 100 mg
Phenobarbital
Moditen 3 x 5 mg
Atenolol 1/2 tab

Honestly, this cocktail isn't doing him any favors. It’s way too much medication—no wonder the guy is spiraling. If you can, please just sit down and talk to the doctor about this. I mean, seriously... three different antipsychotics? Plus a benzo? And an antidepressant on top of it all? It's madness.

dustyowl29 said:I'd really appreciate it if someone could give me the lowdown on these meds—what they actually do and all that stuff.
thanks in advance.

Look, Praxiten is a benzo, so honestly, you're better off just staying away from it entirely. As for Cogentin, that’s an antiparkinsonian. When you're on antipsychotics—especially the older, typical ones—you often run into extrapyramidal symptoms, and Cogentin is what they throw at you to stop that from happening.

amberorca192 said:I guess I’ll just lay it all out there—here’s the list of what I’m dealing with:

OCD
Bipolar mania
Schizoid personality disorder
Acute schizophrenia

And as for the cocktail of meds I’ve been through or am still stuck with:

Ativan, Valium, Xanax, Helix, Taxol, Amyzol, Zyprexa,
Nozinan, Prazosin, Seroquel, Haldol, and so on.

Things have actually leveled out over the last two years, so I'm barely touching the heavy hitters anymore; mostly just sticking to benzos these days.
On those rare nights when that isn't cutting it, I might toss back 200-300 mg of Prazosin or 50 mg of Seroquel, which—compared to the absolute madness of my old prescriptions—is basically nothing.

I don't really feel like digging any deeper into this than that.😢

Look, I'm telling you, it's impossible to be juggling all those diagnoses at once. Seriously, who even gave you that diagnosis??? And honestly, that med list doesn't sit right with me either.

dustyscout53 said:So what’s the deal now? It's a fun movie. Tarantino made a fun movie. End of story.

Nobody even brought up Ronin. And that's literally a movie about samurai.

Look at this clown.🙄, you clearly have no clue that Kill Bill was already being cooked up before they even started filming Jackie Brown.

Gregory Smith4 said:All jokes aside, the only movies Smith actually made worth watching were his trader flicks.
Dogma and Jay & Silent Bob Strikes Back are basically just rehashing the same old ideas... (Unsuccessful ones, if you ask me, but hey, what do I know? 😁 )

Those trader movies are the gold standard. Both Mallrats and Chasing Amy.👍 👍 👍 Personally, I couldn't stand Dogma.👎
Contact lenses in Health ·
Megan Peterson2 said:Please, if anyone could just give me some advice. I started wearing contacts just a few days ago, and I was wondering—can I wear sunglasses during the day while having my contacts in? Also, can I do aerobics with them? Does any kind of sports activity mess things up? Everything is so new to me right now and honestly, I have no clue, so please, I'm begging for a few tips... thanks

Look, do whatever you want with them. I've gone swimming before, but, uh, just watch out for water getting in your eyes because it stings like crazy, and honestly, you might end up popping one right out.😁 Believe me, I've been there.😁 As for sunglasses, they’re a total necessity for me since the sun hits me like a freight train when I'm wearing my lenses.

Just thought I'd poke the bear and mess with Keith Martinez4 a little.🙂 🙂

God, I love these emojis. And for the record, you idiots—I'm mistyhound2, not some other guy. 😁

And hey, don't go telling anyone, but my husband isn't actually a doctor—like, a medical doctor, anyway. There are all kinds of doctors out there, just saying. But honestly, you're too dim to catch my drift, and even more clueless about what I was actually trying to get out of "Dr." the other day.

Keith Martinez4 🙂🙂 🙂

(Man, I only drop by this madman's corner once a month and somehow I always run right into this total moron.)
Pregnancy and iron levels in Health ·
Look, don't go losing sleep over drinking "too much" iron. Your body's actually pretty smart about it—the iron gets reabsorbed in your small intestine just in the amount you actually need, and any extra? It just gets flushed right out. It’s not like those fat-soluble vitamins where things can spiral into hypervitaminosis or some crazy overdose situation.🙂

Everyone reacts differently, obviously. Some people are fine, others feel like garbage. It's common knowledge that ascorbic acid helps with absorption, so a lot of folks swear by taking it with Vitamin C. If you've got a sensitive stomach, though, don't be a hero and try taking it on an empty stomach, or you're definitely going to feel like crap.

Roger Cox10 said:Basically, my little guy came down with the flu today even though he got vaccinated. 😢 A friend mentioned that the shot isn't 100% effective. 😢 I've picked up all sorts of pills, but does anyone know which ones actually worked for you? Please! 😢

Look, if it’s actually the flu (meaning influenza, not just a nagging cold), things usually get pretty ugly for a few days—fever, body aches, that general "everything hurts" feeling where you can't even think about getting out of bed... Since it's a viral thing, treatment is mostly just managing the symptoms. You basically just fight the symptoms: knock down a fever (if it hits over 100.4°F) with Aspirin, Advil, or Tylenol. Keep them hydrated with teas; Vitamin C is debatable, but hey, it won't hurt.

Bed rest is non-negotiable. No running errands or walking around outside, because you don't want to risk any complications.

silentcobra6 said:P.S. Is there a specific track on the official soundtrack—you know, the one playing when that lady with the single eye shows up disguised as one of the sisters to "visit" the Bride? What’s the name of that song if it’s actually on there? I need to "download" it. Also, does Tarantino have any kind of cameo in Vol. II?

Yeah, regarding that fourth thing. The soundtrack...👍 👍 👍

Personally, my absolute favorite is track 9, 'Battle Without Honor or Humanity'.

I'm seriously counting down the days until the DVD drops, and then we get to II. Honestly, I’m probably gonna grab the soundtrack sometime this week too.👍

Richard Howard2 :
I didn't dig the movie. It was honestly pretty uncomfortable to watch—just constant violence and anxiety on one hand, and then all those "I'm Tarantino and I'm cool" tropes ripped straight from his old stuff on the other. It feels like Tarantino was stuck trying to decide if he wanted to make something meaningful or just something totally mindless. One minute the movie is trying way too hard to be dead serious, and the next it’s just mocking everything in sight. Look, it might be worth seeing on the big screen, but it’s not exactly a masterpiece. Compared to hellish junk, this is just some overthought project by an overconfident director.

If Tarantino's whole goal was to be inconsistent about everything, then he should have at least been consistent with that idea.

Man, you missed the mark completely. The movie is dead serious, not some joke. And saying it isn't even close to hellish junk? Please. Tarantino isn't some "overthought, arrogant director," and the soundtrack is freaking incredible... This is easily his best work yet. Honestly, you just totally missed the point.
