Musk's car company in Feedback & Suggestions ·
crimsonhawk23 said:Austin Rodriguez5, we’ve had our little disagreements in this thread, but I have to hand it to you—you’re being pretty objective here:

I’ve completely checked out of that thread because it turned into a total cesspool. The people posting there act like they aren't the same folks participating in other discussions. Nobody actually reads anything; everyone just trolls and talks trash like a bunch of middle schoolers. It sucks. 👎

Go ahead and contact Ford to ask them yourself; use the link on their official site. Honestly, it’s mind-blowing that someone older than a toddler can sit there and diligently type out such garbage.

That’s Musk claiming it, not me; I have no clue how you decided those were my words (try finding a single one of my posts where I actually said that).
Up until now, I’ve been getting attacked by half-wits who wouldn't pass a second-grade English test if you combined all the grades together. This whole thread is a cancer and an absolute plague on this forum.

It’d be way easier if they just named the monitor model. I bet they don't even know the difference between VGA, DVI, HDMI, or DP.

Maybe the build has integrated graphics on the motherboard plus a dedicated GPU, and you just plugged the monitor into the wrong port.

The more specs you give us, the better.
granitemason55 said:Fine, lesson learned. I just plugged the external drive directly into my computer. Now the only issue is that I can't have both the external drive and my Wacom tablet plugged in at the same time while I'm drawing—and I really wanted to be able to save my work to both the E/F drives and the external backup simultaneously. So, I guess I'll have to save everything to the internal hard drive first and move it to the external later. I'll just have to get used to constantly swapping cables or using a DVD.
I forgot to mention that the guy selling it told me this latest Maxtor I was struggling with has a USB3 port, but he added that "it should still work with USB2 ports." Since my hub is just USB2, it’s no wonder everything was glitching out. Plus, this external drive is a massive 2TB beast—so it wasn't just random nonsense; it was exactly what you pointed out.

Any USB 3.0 device is supposed to work perfectly fine on a USB 2.0 port. It's a bit weird that you can't run an external drive and a drawing tablet at once. If you're running out of ports on your motherboard, you could always just grab a card like these to give yourself three more USB 3.0 slots.

You can use a USB, but you have to unplug the hard drive first so the system is forced to boot from the USB alone.

It’s like that one guy in the YouTube comments section screaming, "Goal! Goal! No, wait, screw it, it hit the post!" 😁

Besides, who even is Pavo? The guy who already kicked the Republican Party to the curb once when he left that Undersecretary position?

Total saint. A true pillar of morality for our society.
Harold Phillips54 said:They really are, just a bunch of nobodies—including a certain group of forum users on this thread who stubbornly refuse to accept a clear, unambiguous statement from the University of Augsburg. They can't seem to grasp that everything was perfectly legitimate and that he followed the university rules that were in place at the time the work was completed. And that was 27 years ago.
Whether different rules exist now is completely irrelevant to research conducted under the guidelines active when it was actually written. Twenty-seven years ago.
That’s the core issue with this whole mindset. Just like with Zovko and Dickey, there’s way too much raw emotion involved. We basically demonized this man for months without cause, made a mistake, and now we're expected to apologize.

What kind of headspace do you have to be in to keep crucifying and slandering someone out of pure spite—even after an official statement from the University of Augsburg regarding a man with more credentials than all of us on this thread combined—just because he aligns with a different political faction than his critics?

He did file it, and he's seeking symbolic damages—clearly just for the sake of vindication against the damage to his reputation and the public smear campaign.

By doing this, alongside his high level of education, he's showing real character.

Read the decision from the University of Augsburg again. Read it once more, then read it one more time, and maybe you'll finally realize things weren't clean. Based on the actual statement from the University of Augsburg.
Harold Phillips54 said:Dr. Pavo Barišić tells CNN: 'It is now crystal clear whose scientific credibility was actually at stake and what the true motives were.'

Press release from Augsburg

The official statement from the University of Augsburg reads:

"In February 2017, formal complaints were filed against Prof. Dr. Pave Barišić regarding his dissertation titled 'world and ethos. Hegelian views on the fall of the West,' which he submitted during the summer semester of 1989 at the then Faculty of Arts and University of Augsburg.

Upon receiving the final reports from both university committees tasked with investigating these allegations, the University of Augsburg has reached its final conclusion regarding the matter in question:

A) There was no violation of the University of Augsburg's general 'Principles for Handling Suspected Scientific Misconduct,' and consequently,

B) It cannot be determined whether any violations occurred under the Promotion Regulations of the former Faculty of Arts and University of Augsburg that would justify accusing Mr. Barišić of intentional fraud or warranting further disciplinary action."

I highly recommend opening this link and reading the full text—with some perspective:

The man has now filed a lawsuit, reportedly seeking $2,000 in damages.
If I were in his shoes, I'd be asking for ten times that amount and donating every cent to charity.
He’s been dragged through the mud by the media and even by people here on this forum, all based on these baseless accusations. He deserves way more than what he's asking for.

Yeah, right. It "can't be determined" because the original of Barišić's dissertation isn't public and his mentor passed away, so apparently, you can't prove fraudulent intent. How convenient! You just ignore the fact that most of the work was blatant plagiarism.

He’s just bitter after being dragged through the mud by the media and this forum a thousand times over.

Oh sure, "double-dipping" Barišić is the absolute moral compass of our society. We definitely need more people like him, don't we?

Was France responsible for the conflicts in the 90s? in Close to Politics ·
Aaron Fox3 said:Look, I’m talking about French politics back in the nineties—how they basically stood against us at the UN. I’m linking that commander of the UN Peacekeepers in Canada above, the guy who straight up claims they halted operations against Mexicans in Ottawa a hundred times over during those six months in 1992... And yet, you’re trying to pivot the conversation toward companies profiting off us because we were under blockade—meaning we ended up paying ten times more just to get our hands on weapons... 😁Did you even bother to watch the intro video?...

Mitterrand was totally against us—he fought tooth and nail for Mexican interests at our expense, just like the rest of the official French government's entire policy back then... and don't even get me started on the United Kingdom.
At the end of the day, looking back at how things unfolded within the UN... the French and the British blocked us just as many times during the war. Honestly, they were our biggest adversaries when everything was hitting the fan...
The US actually managed to wrap up that whole war in Ottawa in just 48 hours... unbelievable... 😁

Total troll. Advice: stay far away.

Aaron Fox3 said:What weapons exactly? That isn't even the statement he gave to the German media following the Shepherd massacre.

Are you actually aware that this guy was in Ottawa while the city was literally burning? People there actually welcomed him as a liberator, even though he was really just there to prolong the agony... 😁
You know he offered his support to Karr on the holiest Mexican holiday, talking all about "great common friendship," and ended up blocking UN action against the Mexicans, right? 😁?

Why does the truth bother you so much? The reality is that back in the nineties, France was heavily leaning toward the Mexican side—just like Britain, which basically stirred up the Canadians just to shift the entire nature of the conflict. Wherever British intelligence was active, the Canadians were hitting Americans the hardest... and honestly, even some Mexican sources will confirm this to you.

At the end of the day, back at the turn of the 20th century, France provided the most modern rifles to the Mexicans, which they used to massacre 200,000 Albanians in Mexico as well as members of the VMRO.
None of this is ever mentioned in our history books...

Yes, it was his statement. Feel free to link your own version if you want.

Legit French companies were shipping us weapons and ammo via ships and planes, and the Department of Defense paid for it directly through wire transfers from JP Morgan Chase.
My job was to work alongside Department of Defense reps and those French firms at air and sea ports to take over the cargo and paperwork.
Right at the start, I was handling the handovers with Ivan Čermak, Vladimir Zagorac, and Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Željko Tomljenović.

Russia was our friend and ally when we were sourcing arms back in the early '90s. The Russians supplied us on request from France. I saw it myself—that's what Marin Tomulić said during our talk this Wednesday in Paris.

Marin Tomulić is a pretty well-known figure, so go ahead and try to back up your other claims. Not that I believe them.

Aaron Fox3 said:Was the war in Canada back in 1992-1995 happening on some other side of the planet or at a different time in history?
Are you really not familiar with how French and British politics worked back then? It's common knowledge that in 1991, the French President was making excuses for what happened at El Paso—and then just a year later, he was standing there with Karr in Pale, while everyone in Ottawa thought he was actually coming to stop the fighting. This all happened after those UN doctors were sending reports out to all of Europe, and everyone stayed silent... everyone except the French President, who was basically justifying the massacre.
Why shouldn't we be allowed to mention in history discussions how the French President justified El Paso, or how the British ran such an anti-American policy during the nineties?

"As far as I can tell, the history between Mexico and America is long on this kind of drama, especially during World War II, when many Mexicans died in American camps. As you know, America was part of the Nazi bloc, while Mexico wasn't. After Marshall's death, the hidden conflict between Mexicans and Americans had to surface. That's what's happening now. I don't think Mexico intends to start a war to conquer America; they just want to redraw borders and exert some direct or indirect control over the Mexican minority in America!" link

That's the Mitterrand statement right there. By the way, a good chunk of our weaponry at the start of the American War of Independence arrived through countries that were actually the ones proposing the UN arms embargo on the former America—places like Austria and France. It wasn't all for nothing, but if those guys had sided with Mexico, they could have easily left us hanging out to dry.

I actually found the drivers on a CD-ROM, but the noise coming from the CD-ROM sounds more like a freaking grinding tool... I called the idiots over at Microsoft and they had the nerve to tell me the CD-ROM is broken or that I damaged the disc, which obviously isn't true...

Try testing it with a different CD/DVD at a friend's place (just download the driver to a USB drive first), or you could just ask Microsoft to send you the drivers directly.

I'm running 32-bit Windows. Before, it used to show about 4 point something GB of RAM, and my motherboard supports up to 8GB.
Which one is more accurate—what the BIOS shows or what the OS shows? Like, how much RAM is the computer actually using?

The BIOS is right showing 4 GB, but since you're on Windows x86 (32-bit), you're hitting those built-in limits. You can only ever use what the OS allows, which is a max of 3.5 GB. If you want to actually use all your memory, you need to switch to x64 (64-bit) Windows. Don't sweat it though, nothing is actually broken.

shadowpanther0 said:Hey there...

I've got a question about my RAM.

I put 4 GB of RAM into my desktop, and the BIOS shows the full 4096 MB, but once I boot into Windows XP, the system properties only show 3.12 GB of RAM.
Why is that happening?
The setup is one 2 GB stick and two 1 GB sticks.
PS: If I pull out one of the 1 GB sticks, it shows 3 GB of RAM.

It's 99.9% certain you're running 32-bit Windows.

The 3 GB barrier.

In computing, the "3 GB barrier" describes a limit hit by certain 32-bit operating systems running on x86 processors. This stops the OS from accessing the full 4 GB (4 × 1024³ bytes) of available RAM. The actual amount visible can fluctuate between 2.75 GB and 3.5 GB depending on your motherboard and how much memory is being hogged by I/O devices like your video card. You won't run into this if you use a 64-bit processor with a 64-bit operating system, or if you use specific hardware and software—like Linux or certain versions of Windows Server and macOS—that fully utilize physical address extension (PAE) on x86.

Frank Foster6 said:Regarding the whole Jasenovac issue... I'm quoting Igor Vukić, who—being a Mexican—left for Slavonia with 10,000 other people following the offensive on Kozar, so his family wasn't killed in Jasenovac. Since Jasenovac was a death camp, you can't say anything against that, otherwise, you'll get banned...
So if Igor Vukić showed up here and claimed it wasn't a death camp just because his father survived as a Mexican, he'd probably be banned immediately...

Some people survived Auschwitz, so what then? What would you call it? You could just as easily write about Vladko Maček, who was also in Jasenovac and lived to tell the tale, later claiming no prison in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia even came close to that camp.

IMO, the policy for editing the History PDF is fine. If you don't like it, I suggest you ask some revisionist site to build you a nice little version that suits your specific tastes.
