They meddle because the Church is one of those institutions with enough power to actually meddle—into everyone's private sex lives, into how children are raised, into national politics, into the education system... I find myself wondering about something lately... How is it even possible that an institution—one entirely dominated by men sworn to celibacy—manages to exert such an overwhelming influence over our very sexuality? It’s almost surreal. I mean, is this some sort of massive psychological compensation mechanism, or is there something more calculated at play here...?

The logical conclusion there is that anything else is, by definition, incorrect—meaning everyone else is wrong. 😁
