Hey everyone—any thoughts on this build? Thanks!
What do you guys think about this build?

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti, 12GB, GDDR6X—is this a solid choice, or should I look at something else?
SSD: Samsung SSD 1TB M.2.—which specific one should I get? There are so many options and I don't really get the technical differences.
HDD: Something in the 2TB or 4TB range—any recommendations?
RAM: 32GB DDR4 (1x32) Kingston Fury—which exact model would be best? I see there are several different types available.
CPU: What would be a good match for this setup?
Cooler: Any suggestions for a decent cooler for this build?
PSU: Which power supply would you recommend?
Motherboard: Which one would fit all the components listed above?

I definitely need WiFi and Bluetooth built-in—not sure if all boards come with those, so just wanted to mention it.

Regarding the case—how am I supposed to know which size will actually work? Any advice or recommendations there?

I'm planning to buy everything from Micro Center...

Thanks!

Diners Club, Visa, Mastercard 🙂
Douglas Roberts49 said:Oof... don't even bother buying if you're short on cash...

If I didn't use credit cards, I wouldn't be able to afford most things—for instance, if I managed to scrape together $1,500 for a PC...🙂

I could just stretch that over 12 monthly installments and call it a day. 🙂

Unfortunately, they don't offer financing, so they're pretty much out of the running for me...

Total $1,812.49 at Best Buy (with cash/bank transfer discount)

The build uses the AM5 platform, which is still a bit questionable on value—mostly because motherboards and DDR5 RAM aren't exactly cheap yet. You could probably save a couple hundred bucks by sticking with an older AM4 setup instead.

Can I get some feedback on this complex build from the link below?

It's surprising that an RTX 4070 paired with DDR5 stays relatively "low" in price...
Hey experts, I’d love to get your take on this build from the link:

Is this actually a good value, or am I better off just building something custom for this much cash?

Thanks 😉
Monitor buying guide (mega-thread) in Computer Peripherals ·
Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a 27-28 inch monitor to use for my PC, but I also want to hook up a PlayStation—likely a PS5 once it's out—so I'm torn between a few different models:

https://www.walmart.com/gaming-monitor-fhd-ips-144hz/
https://www.newegg.com/monitor-28-inch-black/ - this one might be my favorite because of the 4K resolution (thinking about that PS5)

Does anyone have a better suggestion? Personally, I'm leaning more toward a flat screen rather than a curved one..

If anyone knows their stuff, please let me know what you recommend. Thanks in advance!!

You don't need to give up on gaming—just start eating better and stick to a regular training routine. If you're looking for advice on how to actually do that, you already have about 100 open threads on this forum to dig through... 😬

As far as buying stuff here at home goes, I know it ends up being more expensive...🙂

For example, a 10lb tub of Optimum Nutrition whey protein costs about $257 here, but over there it's only $123 ........thank God I didn't blow too much cash on this stuff while I was back home, seeing what the prices are like there now.

🤔 Just run those numbers one more time for me, just in case.. 🤣

wearyotter81 said:You can find glucose (grape sugar, yeah) at DM. You want a 2:1 ratio in favor of the glucose. So—two scoops of glucose for every one scoop of whey, which usually has about 30g of protein. That’s plenty for a post-workout meal. Just mix it with water.

Glucose is almost twice as heavy as whey, so just doing one scoop of whey and one scoop of glucose gives you that 2:1 ratio... 😬 👍

If you're having them ship directly to you out here, just make sure you factor in the shipping costs, customs, and sales tax... btw, check your PMs 🙂

Neither you (nor he) needs any of that mega mass nonsense—it's just marketing fluff... stick to some whey protein after your workout...

My shakes always turn out terrible unless I make them at home—either using my dedicated blender or a handheld immersion mixer. That’s why I always prep them at home and just carry them with me. Honestly, I have no idea how you guys manage to get yours tasting okay just by shaking them by hand. 😢

You say you're drinking Optimum Nutrition—honestly, I don't think that's working for you. You should try pushing it a little harder. 😬
