It’s totally normal for the first three packs; any OB-GYN will tell you the same thing. Your body just needs time to adjust to the changes.
There's no reason to panic. If the spotting doesn't stop after you've finished the third pack, go see your doctor and get it sorted out.
After my first kid, my periods were barely five days long—almost nothing on day 1 and 3, and by day 2, I could barely get out of bed. Once I started Yasmin, they lasted 5 days and were pretty heavy. After my second, I switched to Tri-Norum and my period went back to being 3-4 days. Sometimes heavy, sometimes light. We'll see how these work out, because after my very first pill, my period stopped entirely.🤷
So what exactly is the problem here? You got your period during a break, which is totally normal. Nothing weird about it. Every woman's body works differently. If my flow is light, it doesn't mean yours will be. Besides, I still have quite a heavy flow even though I'm on the pill.
I assume you aren't taking them just to try and reduce the amount you bleed, right? 🙂
No spotting, no bleeding, nothing like that. Just started getting cramps today, which happens every single time during the last week of the pill. Honestly, I’m hoping my period actually shows up during the break since we forgot to use a condom for ten days straight :$
The forum’s been running at a crawl regardless of the time of day for two or three weeks now, ever since that constant BetMGM pop-up started appearing.
I'm starting to lose my motivation to post here, though just slowly. 🤣
Honestly, if I don't deal with them for a week or so, I feel like I’d need to go over my skin with a chainsaw before a razor would even do anything. 😂🤣
I'm hitting 30 and it's actually getting pretty grim.
God, if my boobs grow any more, I won’t even be able to find a bra that fits anywhere in the States.😢
Anyway, is anyone else here dealing with increased hair growth?🤣 I swear, I'm growing hair like crazy—underarms, legs, eyebrows, I've even started getting fuzz on my face. 😢 I mean, I've always shaved my legs, pits, and bikini area in the shower (well, almost every other day), but now it's getting ridiculous. For example, I'll shave my armpits today and by tomorrow afternoon they already feel coarse under my hand. 🙂
Same thing happened to me. Woke up with some light spotting—totally normal for me—and some stomach cramps, so I figured my period was finally starting. Then, I took my first Lindynette 30 pill in the evening, and the bleeding just stopped. Still nothing since. I’m taking the pills exactly as directed, but we'll be using condoms until the pack is finished, just to be safe.
Your best bet is to just finish what you've got, talk to your doctor, and then make the switch. As for taking a break, like I said, there’s really no need. I was on Trinovum for over four years and honestly would have stuck with it if I hadn't started dealing with these headaches and nosebleeds.
Look, you don't actually need to take breaks just because of how the pill cycle works. I stayed on them for four years straight without a single gap, and my mom went fifteen years without stopping... Plus, if you decide to quit halfway through a pack now, you’re going to deal with breakthrough bleeding. You'll be stuck waiting for your first spontaneous period before you can even think about starting a new pack. Back in the day, doctors used to suggest these little breaks between packs, but that's pretty much outdated practice now.
Honestly, you’re better off just finishing the whole pack right now; there’s no need for a break. You should probably give your OB-GYN a call to confirm, but my understanding is that once you wrap up the Trinovum, you don't wait seven days—you just jump straight onto the Lindynette.
You’ll need a prescription anyway, so ask them about that too. Good luck. 😉
Sam Williams3 said:I wouldn't dare take a break. I'm terrified of getting pregnant, and with my luck, I’d probably end up with triplets immediately.😁 No headaches, though. I used to get nauseous after eating, but I never actually blamed the pills for that.
The pills work fine for me, but honestly, reading stuff online and listening to everyone else just makes you panic.
If I remember correctly, you were on TriSprinte for years and got pregnant just fine, so they can't be *that* dangerous,🙂 right?
I started taking them after my second kid was born—once the little ones were already a year old. When you eventually decide to try for a baby, it's crucial to stop the pill, get a full checkup from your OB-GYN, and wait at least a month or two. Basically, wait for your first period after stopping before you start trying. That's what helps.
You don't need to take a break. That was old-school advice mostly given to women by older OB-GYNs back in the day, but it’s not really the standard recommendation anymore. The only thing my doctor mentioned yesterday is that if I start getting frequent headaches—which haven't been an issue until now—I should stop taking it immediately.
A few posts up there include my old thread about Trinovum. It was working perfectly for me until maybe two or three months ago. Then, out of nowhere, I started getting these brutal headaches and bleeding after sex every single time. I finally stopped taking them at the twelve-month mark, and yesterday my OB-GYN switched me over to something else. Trinovum is one of those high-dose hormone pills—way stronger than the newer stuff they prescribe these days. My doctor mentioned yesterday that it’s pretty rare for doctors to even put patients on it anymore. Lindynette is on the insurance formulary now, but you still have to pay an extra $11 per box.
Good grief, the amount of stupidity in one thread is unreal. 🤦 If that woman didn't end up pregnant after manually shoving sperm inside herself every single time after her guy finished, then I doubt you did either, 🤣
And this whole thing about peeing after sex to prevent pregnancy? The first time I heard that nonsense was from that idiot contestant on Big Brother—I can't remember if it was the first or second season. 😂🤣
It’s hard to believe when some grown man tells you something like that, let alone when a mother who already has kids swears by it—she actually got pregnant even though both of them went to the bathroom right after they were done...🤣 😂
Amanda Hughes37 said:I completely agree—though I don't know any other moms besides myself who have actually dug their heels in on this... In a perfect world, the kids would be lighting those fireworks only when Dad is right there to supervise.
Well, newsflash: I’m that mom. I wouldn't allow fireworks even if the Pope himself were standing right there. I made sure the kids and their dad understood exactly where I stood on this.😍
I forgot to mention that at our first parent-teacher meeting, the teacher basically told us not to bother buying anything from those traveling salespeople. Apparently, everything required for class comes bundled with the textbook sets, and we just pay about $6 for the worksheets and tests. She also said if the kids bring home flyers during the year, we should just ignore them because they’re unnecessary. 😍 👍
I still remember those Red Cross drives from back when I was just a kid during the war years—back then, people actually stepped up and gave even more. Now, they’re asking $1.75 from kids, while most adults don't bother. When I was in school, we used to go door-to-door, collecting cash, food, clothes... and it went directly to the people who actually needed the help.
Look, I don't mind helping someone out who's struggling—I don't exactly have money to burn myself—but at least you should know where the help is going. Too often, it doesn't even reach the people who truly need it.
That's why I don't give anything to the people knocking on my door. Instead, every Christmas or Easter, a few friends and I pick one specific family to visit. We see exactly what they need, buy it ourselves, and drop it off. That way, I know it actually ended up in the right hands.
I think you should head down to the school ASAP to sort this out. I doubt the kid feels comfortable being cornered by a teacher about money, whether it's in front of the class or privately.
To follow up on the whole "optional" field trip thing. Maybe things work differently in NYC, but at our school, trips to the movies or the theater are mandatory. After they go, they have to write an analysis for English class, which counts toward their media literacy grade. When they do nature trips, those count toward their science and social studies grades... That said, our teacher tries her best not to push for money too hard. For instance, last month they went to the cinema, but we didn't have to pay a dime. A local community group organized it as part of a city event, so it was totally free.
About three weeks ago, they went to a play that did require payment.$6.75 But the teacher made it clear she knew it could be a lot for some families. She told us to just reach out if we needed help; she’d cover the cost personally, and one student could attend for free if needed. Two weeks ago, there was a notice about donating to the Red Cross $1.75, plus a request for clothes or toys for a charity drive helping a sick boy... but nobody was pressured into doing it. It was purely voluntary.
Another cool thing at our school is the paper recycling drive. Basically, it's a competition, and whichever class collects the most to sell gets a field trip. Last year, our kids went to a botanical garden and had a blast. We just packed them lunches from home—zero issues, zero extra costs.
Our teacher really tries to minimize what parents have to shell out. She always gives us plenty of notice before any trip or event so everyone can prepare. We already have a trip to Chicago lined up for the second semester.

I probably wouldn't go as far as demanding a refund for my kid, but I’d definitely buy him a sandwich if he was sitting there while everyone else ate. It feels wrong to let him just watch the other kids eat 🤷
Now, regarding why your teacher asked for money... maybe she was just being formal about it compared to the rest of the class? Like, trying to make sure it didn't look like she was playing favorites by treating him differently than the others
The kid had food because his mom packed him a lunch. So, the teacher is basically implying he needs charity if he can't afford McDonald's.
