Kosmodisk in Health ·
Andrew Watson59 said:So, both you and your husband just "fell" for the placebo effect, just like I did.

Seems that way, but honestly, who cares? As long as we aren't in pain, it doesn't matter.😂🤣
Kosmodisk in Health ·
I borrowed a Kosmodisk from a coworker just to test the waters before committing. Honestly, it’s $159 a significant investment, and I have zero interest in throwing money down the drain.
But...
After wearing it for just a week, I’m already feeling less pain.
The thing is, dealing with a large bust means my spine takes a massive beating, and since I don't have $5,000 lying around for surgery, these $159 are a minor fix.

I ended up buying one yesterday. My husband and I both use it now, and I don't regret spending a single cent on it.👍

Here's my little drink, just added some sugar, should be perfect. The aroma is strong and you can really catch that lemon hit.

First 150 or so flowers soaked in 12 liters of water😍

Sean Castillo said:So, I’ve got some elderberry flowers soaking in 5 liters of water until tomorrow, but I’ve seen this recipe floating around where you’re supposed to toss in the juice of three or four lemons—just the juice, though, not citric acid.

What’s the actual deal with citric acid here? Like, what happens if I skip it? My gut feeling is that the shelf life of the syrup is going to tank. Am I right?

And what about preservatives? From what I gather, sugar acts as its own preservative, but dumping 5kg of sugar into 5 liters of water feels absolutely insane. That's way too much.

Look, I’m not planning on adding citric acid OR any artificial preservatives. Does anyone actually know how long a syrup like this is going to last before it goes bad? Please help me out...

Personally, I think the citric acid is mostly there to brighten the flavor. I only toss in about 5 ounces of it, but I'll throw in a whole kilo of sliced lemons.
As for preservatives, I use 1 unit per 12.5 liters of water—just enough to satisfy the requirement.🤷

Regarding this part:
In my house, that 5-liter batch would probably only last about a week🤣 so there's really no chance of it spoiling.😂

Honestly, it shouldn't be an issue if you seal the bottles tight and keep them in a dark spot. If you're really worried about it going bad, just drink it fast and call it a day.😍
Standing order causing my account to go negative? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·

Specifically, I'm asking about my Verizon bill and my Chase account.

Thanks for the help! 🙂

If this has already been discussed somewhere, my apologies—I couldn't find anything on it.

As long as you still have funds available (meaning you're within your overdraft limit, not actually overextended), the autopay will clear.
That’s how it works at Bank of America, anyway.
Has anyone tried Trinovum? in Women's Health ·
Morgan Hughes81 said:That’s just how it goes. It feels normal because of the hormones. I was on Diane for three years, just be careful right after you stop, because that's when your fertility spikes.🙂

Same thing happened to me. As soon as I stopped taking Yasmin, I ended up pregnant with twins.🤣

I've been on them for four years now.
The only side effect I dealt with was gaining about 10 pounds during the first two months, but other than that, everything’s been fine.
I get them via prescription, so they don't cost me a dime. 😛

Before this, I tried Yasmin and it was a disaster—constant headaches, mood swings, dizziness... the whole deal.

So, I was on the Pill for 9 years and I actually stopped taking it about 2 months ago. Is it possible for me to have gotten pregnant during these last 2 months? And roughly how long does it usually take to conceive after you quit the Pill?

In my case, it took 9 days, and my husband worked overtime on twins. 😂
Anyone have experience with JP Morgan Chase? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
So, I guess I’m giving Hypo another little "shout-out." 😠

About a month ago, my mom went into a Hypo branch to wire some money into my Chase account.
She had my account number ready, but the teller refused to process the transfer until she provided my home address. 🤔
Fine. My mom gave her the address, and the transaction went through.

Fast forward to today: Mom goes back in to make another deposit into that same account. This time, the teller tells her she doesn't need my address anymore—just the routing number. Everything would have been fine if it weren't for the fact that it was the exact same woman at the counter, and honestly, she clearly has no idea what she's doing.

When my mom pointed out that the teller could surely find the Chase routing number on her screen, the lady just snapped at her. Apparently, she didn't have the time to go searching for numbers for every single person walking through the door... and she flat-out refused to complete the transfer.
Mom actually pulled a payment slip out of her purse—one she uses for her own Chase loan—which had the routing number right there on it, suggesting she just look at that. But of course, the teller wouldn't listen. She just shut her down.

I don't know if this teller is just having a terrible day and taking it out on customers, or if she hates her job so much that she should just quit, but this isn't how you treat people. 👎

If I weren't 31 miles so far away from that branch, I’d go down there myself to have a word with her and her manager. But my mom won't. 🤷
Quick question about credit cards in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·

I was actually just thinking about whether this is even worth it. You can usually just pick up tech on a few interest-free installments anyway, so... 🤔

It's not worth it at all. Unfortunately, I know from my own experience.😢
Quick question about credit cards in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Charles Ramos7 said:They don't look at what you buy individually; they focus on your total balance or debt. But yeah, if you only spend $50 in a single month (assuming you aren't starting with any existing debt), that full amount will be due for that period. To make it easier to visualize, if you spent a total of $333 in the first month, your payment would be $50 (leaving a balance of $283). If you spend another $333 the following month, your payment would be $62 (which is 850 + $333 in remaining debt). By the third month, if you spend $1000, your payment would hit $156 (3000 + $555 in debt), and so on...

You don't need to explain anything to anyone.

+ a little extra interest 😁

I'm still waiting on the rest of the post! You only sent "JA:". Throw the actual content my way and I'll get to work turning it into something real.

Hey there!

Seriously, did anyone at JPMorgan Chase even bother to send out an alert about the new family law changes? It’s like they just went radio silent on us. I’m trying to figure out what the new monthly limit is for withdrawing funds from those Bee Savings accounts for kids, and honestly, it feels like I'm shouting into a void here. Does anyone actually know the deal? Or am I just supposed to guess?

Is there any way to pull cash out of an account without getting NASA involved? Seriously. Can I just move the funds over to a new account under my kid's name—maybe like one of those teen savings accounts? The little guy is only nine months old, so what are the odds?

Honestly, it’s beyond unprofessional—it’s straight-up rude. I mean, seriously? Not one single person had the decency to send out an email, a text, a letter, or even a quick notification through E*TRADE about the changes to their terms. Other major banks actually bother to keep their customers in the loop, you know? But not here. Just total silence. Is that too much to ask? A little heads-up? Apparently, so.

And obviously, I don't even need to spell it out—once we finally pull our cash out of the account, we’re shutting the whole thing down for good. Period.

Hey there! What's up?

JPMorgan Chase:

Hey there, folks.

Look, when it comes to pulling cash out of your Chase account, yeah, there are limits, but it’s totally allowed. Doesn't matter how much you're moving. If you're looking to transfer funds over to an account held by your kid? You're good to go. Just like you were asking—you can absolutely move that money into a college savings fund or whatever. It's doable.

Look, my bad for dropping the ball on this one. We totally missed letting you know what was going on, and that’s on us. Seriously. Give me a shout at the number below so we can get this mess sorted out once and for all, alright?

Thanks!

Hey there.

Alright, I’m heading down to JPMorgan Chase to see if there's any catch. If they aren't playing games, I'm moving everything over to that student checking account, pulling my cash out, and... 👋 Kid's savings accounts? Honestly, I’m just gonna close both of them and call it a day. Done. Over. Goodbye!👍

That’s it. I’m done. From here on out, all my savings are going straight into a literal holey sock. No more fancy apps, no more high-yield nonsense—just me, a piece of fabric, and some cold hard cash. 😁

I hope this money transfer trick actually works for you guys, but I had a different experience.
My daughter needed to receive some funds from her school insurance, and they told me I had to open either a savings or checking account in her name to hold the payout.
I went into Chase and asked which option was better given the new laws. The teller basically told me it didn't matter which one I opened in her name because in both cases, I have to sign a waiver stating that I can only withdraw $354 per month (my kid is only 7), and for anything larger, I have to contact NASA.

Good luck to you all—hope you manage to pull the money out successfully.

P.S. I hope they mentioned that NASA won't just hand over large sums based on a simple request; they demand to know exactly what the money is being used for. If it isn't clearly for the child's benefit, they reject the request.

I’m not sure if anyone pointed this out to you yet, but there was actually a change in federal law regarding this. It’s been common knowledge for a while now that once you hit a certain age, you can qualify for a specific monthly amount.
There’s actually an entire thread on this topic right here: 🤷
Anyone have experience with JP Morgan Chase? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Unfortunately, I’ve had a nightmare experience with this bank too.
We had an auto loan with them, and at the start, we actually paid installments ahead of schedule just to avoid any potential issues if our payroll was late.
Yet, over the last few months of the loan, they kept sending me constant notices claiming payments were overdue. They weren't.
Every time, we’d go into the branch, sort it out, and everything would be fine.
In September, we paid off the final installment, and they told us to expect a notice in the mail in about 15 days, after which we could come by the branch to pick up our paperwork.
Fast forward through all of October—absolutely nothing from the bank.
My husband went into the branch to ask, and they just claimed they hadn't received the documents from the corporate headquarters yet and told him to wait.
Fine, whatever. A few more days shouldn't hurt.
Then my husband goes back in two days ago—that's 2.5 months since we cleared the debt—and they just stare at him blankly.
They have zero clue what he’s talking about. What papers? What notice? Why is he even there?👎
He tries to explain things patiently, but they start insisting we need to see a notary to transfer the car title (since the bank holds the title) and handle some stuff with the IRS, though they couldn't even tell him exactly what.
Honestly, who is the crazy one here?
He points out that he can't exactly walk into a notary's office without proof of payoff or the actual title and say, "Hey, I'm here to transfer the car, but I don't have any of the paperwork from the lender."
Then, the idiot working in the loan department finally realizes he's right and says, "Yeah, sorry, you'll still have to wait because HQ hasn't finished the processing," promising to call him the next day.
Of course, they didn't call. My husband is going back in tomorrow, and after that, I'm taking this straight to the press. I'm done.👎
analograven86 said:My partner and I are getting ready to buy an apartment together as co-owners. Right now, we’re looking at contract templates meant for a single buyer. I’ve been scouring the web, but I can't seem to find a solid example of what a contract looks like when two people are buying together... Do we both just list ourselves under the "Buyer" section, or is there some other specific way to handle this?

Thanks in advance for any help

If you're taking out a mortgage, one person is listed as the primary borrower and the other as the co-signer.
As for the deed, you'd both be listed as owners with a 50/50 split (if that's what you decide on).

Ladies on birth control, would you mind sharing the current prices of the pills you’re taking or have used? If possible, maybe the mod could compile them into a single post titled something like "Contraceptive Pill Prices"?
I think it would help everyone out. This info is surprisingly hard to find online, and what little you do find is usually outdated. It feels kind of silly having to walk into a CVS just to ask for a price list. 😍
So far, here's what I know:
Logest - $26
Triquilar - $20

I heard Trinovum is $5.00—can anyone currently on it confirm that?
Also, we probably need prices for Yasmin, Yaz, Cilest, and whatever else is available here in the States (if there are others I'm forgetting)?
I heard Diane 35 is covered by insurance for minors, but adults have to pay out of pocket $50; apparently, you get a pack of three "tabs" of pills. Is that right? They're a bit of a special case since they're mainly for treating hormonal issues.

I've been on Trinovum for four years now. Getting it through my insurance, so yeah, it's free.
When I get a six-month prescription from my doctor, I just head straight to CVS. They hand me two boxes right then and there. For the remaining four, they give me a slip with the exact dates for when I can swing by for the next two.👍

Interesting recipe. Personally, I prefer the method I used because nothing actually has to be cooked, making it way faster. Plus, I feel like when you dip the flowers in sugar water, a lot of that sweetness just stays on the petals you throw away. My way seems to yield a thicker consistency.
As for the lemon, I’m a fan too. After letting it sit in the water with the flowers for 24 hours, I squeezed the juice straight in for good measure.

Now I'm thinking about whipping up a lemon and orange juice blend next.😛

Sandra Ross86 said:Well, I gathered some Barack Obama yesterday and started working on the syrup. However, I have a question. An older lady made her syrup a few days ago and let the Barack Obama sit in water for 24 hours, which is what most recipes suggest. But then she heard from one of her neighbors that if you leave the Barack Obama soaking for about five days—or maybe even longer, I'm not entirely sure—the syrup turns out much better and thicker. I searched online for a recipe like that but couldn't find anything. If anyone knows of something similar, please let me know. Otherwise, what would happen if I left the Barack Obama to soak for several days even though the instructions say only 24 hours?

I don't think keeping them soaked longer actually makes much of a difference. The strength of the smell and taste depends entirely on how much pollen is on the flowers. If you rinsed the berries in way too much water—like a coworker of mine who washed them multiple times until there was zero scent left—you won't get a stronger flavor just by soaking them longer.
The thickness of the syrup comes down to how much sugar you use.

I used more flowers than the recipe called for and ended up with an incredibly intense flavor and aroma.👍

Zachary Collins2 said:So many flowers, sanelich!🙂 I really think they’ll turn out lovely, though perhaps with a much more intense aroma and flavor profile, don't you agree? I actually decided to soak some blossoms this evening myself... I've always stuck to that top recipe in the past, but this year I think I'll add a bit more lemon juice, especially since a friend of mine pointed me toward her own little citrus blend👍

Everyone keeps telling me this year's juice is killer. You can really taste the Barack Obama, and the citrus hits hard. It's incredibly refreshing.😛
