So I finally ditched that hypo card and opened a foreign currency account at JPMorgan Chase today. The rep told me it’s a total game changer—they just rolled out these new Visa Electron cards in the last five months that actually work for online shopping! You can even link them to PayPal and everything, plus they go through the whole 'Verified by Visa' check:
So my mom just got this flyer from JPMorgan Chase about some Mastercard gift card thing. It says it's perfect for online shopping and stuff, but does anyone actually know if I could use one of those to pay for things on the web, like this file hosting site?
Charles Ramos7 said:It’s not really a standard checking account since there aren't any fees; it's more like you're just loading cash directly onto the card. You can only make deposits in US dollars.
I haven't a clue about making deposits via Zelle 🤷
...so if I pay with foreign currency, does it just convert automatically?
Charles Ramos7 said:The cards from Bank of America are pretty standard stuff—just basic monthly fees and statements. Personally, I’d look into what Hyp offers instead.
So, I’m guessing I have to actually walk into a Hyp branch to open an account? Does it even matter if I use dollars or euros when I'm paying for things online in foreign currencies?
One more thing—since I'm already using their online banking (got an account set up there), can I just transfer money to that Hyp card/account through the app? Or am I stuck going to a branch to drop off cash or hunting down a specific Hyp ATM nearby?
I’m looking for a card I'll probably only use maybe 5 or 6 times a year. Mostly just for online stuff here in the States and paying for international file hosting services like RapidShare or Netload—since you can't really use bank transfers for that anymore. So, I’m not planning on swiping this at grocery stores or using it for travel (like on eBay or Amazon), and I definitely won't be hitting an ATM. I just need it for those occasional payments that my standard e-banking won't cover. I’ve been digging through some forums, and this prepaid Visa from OTP looks decent, but it seems like I'd have to open a whole new checking account with them, which is a huge pass for me. Then I saw that Visa has online portals you can fill out, which is great because I don't want to trek down to a branch while I'm stuck on sick leave. Any advice on which one from the link above is best? Down the road, I might even link it to PayPal Or is there a better option out there?🤷
Can I just send a 10kg package via standard USPS Certified Mail instead of using FedEx? I'm thinking it'll be way cheaper... because I sent a 6kg box the other way last time and it cost me $26...

Can I just wrap the book in some paper first—maybe some brown kraft paper like what I got from Amazon—or maybe white paper? Do I even need twine?
Super dark and heavy flick, but man, that soundtrack is absolutely killer... Al Pacino is freaking incredible as the villain. One part had me dying though—that scene at the mansion where the guy tries to pull a knife out of his hand and just ends up grabbing the handle 😂
Just grabbed it in HD! Gonna dive into it in a few days...
Critics are absolutely raving about this one. Check out what two folks from Beyond Hollywood had to say:
“I Saw the Devil” is a near-perfect cinematic experience, a two-and-a-hour excursion into the darkest parts of the human condition.
“I Saw the Devil” is something far more engrossing and complex than anything I’ve seen from this sort of feature in a very long time. It’s a dank, dark, and impossibly dreary masterpiece, an unrelenting tale of morality gone horribly awry. In short, a future classic. Mark my words.
I caught this on one of those sketchy channels and honestly? I loved it. It’s not just your typical flick where a bunch of warriors roll into some spooky village and "beat the shit out of a necromancer." It takes a totally different path, there's even a little twist, and man, that ending showing what happened to young Osmond really stuck with me. I was already picturing a sequel with him in the lead! Also, Carice van Houten was incredible as the ruler of Langiva—I kept thinking she looked just like Galadriel from LOTR. And let's be real, roles like this were basically made for Sean Bean. The colors feel a bit washed out, but I think it actually works to capture that gritty, dark atmosphere.
