Sandra Morgan7 said:Ugh, guys, my wedding is approaching at lightning speed... it's happening in about a month, 😲
and I’m still stuck in this total limbo regarding my hair. I need some kind of headpiece or accessory, but honestly? I have zero clue where to even start looking or how to navigate this whole thing. Does anyone actually know anything about this?

I was thinking maybe I could swing by some bridal boutiques to ask, but I'm not sure if they even carry those kinds of things, or if I can even rent or buy something there if I don't end up getting the actual dress from them.

Help a girl out! 😵😵

Check that little shop next to the CVS near the Target; they have all sorts of jewelry and accessories.
Maybe head up to Nordstrom.
Or just hit up Target or Ulta.

James Smith43 said:👎 Honestly, just unprofessional. Maybe they're trying to steer away high schoolers or girls who are just bored and testing things out. But you have to be pretty oblivious not to recognize a "real" bride when she walks in. Especially when you're with your guy. How many guys do you know who actually enjoy going shopping with women, let alone wedding dress fittings?! Besides, if you run a business and live off your customers, I don't see why I'd have to justify anything to anyone regarding my wedding date. Does that mean I can't try on gowns unless I have some hiking trip 🤣
scheduled?
She just couldn't get it right and did everything possible to make sure things went wrong 👎

I completely agree with you, and thanks for the support 🙏
My partner is truly one of a kind. We do everything together and trust each other above all else, including this stuff. We’ve been through a lot—good times and bad. So this isn't a big deal to us. We were there that day and decided to leave; I asked him jokingly just to see his reaction, and he just smiled and said, "Sure, of course" 😁. He has no clue which dress I’ll end up picking from all of them, and he won't be joining me at every single boutique. I don't buy into those old wives' tales about how a groom seeing the bride brings bad luck. Total nonsense 😂
He’ll see me on the wedding day when he comes to pick me up, and that’s a different story because I’ll be fully ready—hair, makeup, the whole dress...
And when I walked out in the first dress I tried on at the boutique in Springfield (I’ll write about that later), it was like he swallowed a lump in his throat and nearly fell over—in a good way. I wouldn't trade that feeling for anything in the world. And honestly, none of my friends will react quite like that.
As if some old stories could actually dictate your life and happiness 😕
And if you're a business owner, you shouldn't even need to be told the basics using common sense, right? 🙄 😍
And they certainly aren't professionals, at least not in my book.

I actually bought my wedding dress there. I went in once just to browse dresses and evening wear, and both the manager and the staff were incredibly kind and showed me everything (even though I just came in with my mom to look, we didn't have a date yet). Later on, I was walking past the shop, saw a dress in the window, and knew instantly it was "the one." I went back in to ask about it. They asked if I had a date, and I told them it would likely be in September or October. We hadn't finalized anything with my husband yet (that was last year), but they told me they would hold the dress for me regardless of when the wedding was, as long as I gave them the exact date once we knew. Which is exactly what I did a few weeks ago once we settled on the date.
I had a completely positive experience, so I'm really sorry you had such a bad one.
p.s. From what I know, they have a huge selection of dresses downstairs too.

Glad it worked out for you. Not everyone has to deal with what I went through.😢
The way they treated me was honestly a massive disappointment. It actually made me nervous to walk into any other bridal shop, fearing I'd get snapped at like that again.
I don't get why it happened to me. I was perfectly polite—said hello, asked nicely... and that's what I got. 😲
Whatever. There are plenty of other shops out there. 😂
To be fair, I wasn't even sold on their dresses initially; I just wanted to see them in person and maybe try a few on. But life goes on. 😍

Alright, here’s how it goes...
One day, my partner and I found ourselves over at VK. Since we were already in the area, I figured I might as well try on some wedding dresses just to see what's out there—to figure out what actually looks good and what doesn't. So, we walked into... Stephanie Everything's empty. Not a soul in sight. You look left, you look right, just scanning the void to see if anything actually exists out here. Maybe. About 50 wedding dresses and a few formal gowns laid out. Then, barely two minutes later, she walks in. You can practically read it on her face:Just when I thought things couldn't get any more exhausting, you guys show up.We said hello and I asked if we needed to book a tasting ahead of time. She told us no. Then she goes, "Do you have a wedding date set yet?" We just looked at each other and laughed. We told her we had a rough idea, but nothing official. She says:Then no. You won't dare try anything.I told her straight up: I’m not putting down a deposit or making a reservation right now. I don't want to snatch a slot from some other bride who actually has her act together. I just wanted to try things on, see what works, and get a feel for their inventory. She gave me this "I can't, let me ask my manager, but probably not" routine. Honestly, when she said that, I was ready to turn around and walk out right then and there. My husband, being the saint he is, just sat down and suggested we wait since we were already there. Then she comes back with a kicker: apparently, I can't even try anything on because we don't have a wedding date set yet. At that point, I just pivoted toward the door. No goodbye, no thank you—why bother? My husband tried to play it cool, acting like it was no big deal, but I was done. She actually had the nerve to suggest I "look through the catalogs." I looked her dead in the eye and told her I wasn't interested because I already have more than that sitting in my house, and then I stormed out. I was absolutely livid.
I’m no businessman, but common sense tells me you actually have to attract customers if you want to move inventory. Instead, she’s just driving people away with that attitude. She didn't even bother to pull a single wedding dress out of the closet to show what she's got. Nothing. It’s like she thinks she owns the last bridal boutique in America and we should all just be grateful she’s letting us look at her. Never. I’m done with them. I wouldn't give them another dime, and I have zero intention of ever stepping foot back in that lounge. I haven't encountered that level of rudeness and arrogance in a long time.
Well, at least now I know. Consider this my lesson learned.

hey stipanovic, check this out: 😍
seeing a dress on an actual person—especially one with black accents—really changes the game. I’m digging it. 🙏

Great, thanks a ton.😁😁😁

I don't know what you're getting at with that name, but if you're looking for someone specific, you've got the wrong place. Keep it moving. kaže:
I put my deposit down with Lisa, but I had to do it in Indianapolis. I was forced to lock it in by late June because orders start rolling in on July 1st. You won't find these dresses just sitting on a rack in some boutique; you have to order them straight from the manufacturer if you want one that hasn't been handled by a hundred other people before you.
It should arrive late November or early December, so I'll give it a shot then. Before placing the order, I tested two others that looked pretty similar. I just hope it actually looks as good in person as it does in the catalog.😍

Can I see a photo? 🙄
Which model did you go with?

Hey Gary Evans8, she looks stunning. I just hope she's actually comfortable 😁
I think I already mentioned this in the wedding dress thread. It’s nice to look at gowns like that, but I have zero interest in wearing wires and crinolines myself. How much did you end up paying? You can just shoot me a DM 😍
