So, did you end up going with Lisjak?

I’ve looked through the photos from California, Foto Marko, and Lisjak, and personally, I think they’re good. Look, people have different preferences—not everyone is going to love the same thing—so I don't think we need to make a huge deal out of it right now. Every photographer has their own vibe... Lisjak is more of an artistic type; he doesn't over-process his shots and leaves them looking much rawer compared to the others. It just comes down to what you're into.
By the way, I checked out a bunch of other photographers too, and honestly, there are plenty of bad ones out there—terrible cameramen, even... but I'm not one to talk trash, so I won't name names.
As for band recommendations... well, it's the same story as the photography. To each their own. Some people dig this band, some prefer that one—we don't all listen to the same stuff. But if you're making a final call on a band, you really should see them live. A DVD just doesn't capture the same energy; you get a completely different impression.🙂

Nah, I actually went with studio in 😁

But thanks for the heads-up! 👍

If you need anything else, just holler... 😍
driftingraven45 said:Hey,

Does anyone know a decent makeup artist based in Miami who does home visits? If you have a number, maybe shoot me a DM.
Also—if anyone has any leads on good hair salons...

I'll send you my makeup artist Taylor Swift's info—she definitely does house calls.

As for hair, I'm stumped... personally, I think Michael over at Joker is the best.👍
Kimberly Robinson55 said:I can't really help you out with the band—we're doing a bit of a mashup since my musicians are actually from Indianapolis. But regarding the cake—I was walking around town the other day and stumbled upon this cute little shop that has everything for baking. Turns out, the lady who works there also makes incredible desserts and wedding cakes! You should definitely check it out—if you want, I can PM you her number and address.

I'm currently hunting for a videographer (and a photographer) myself!

The absolute heavy hitters on this forum... total favorites among us Californians😍

Huge shoutout to Ivica Matić too😁 http://www.ivicamatic.com/

- Twist OFF
- Major League
- Bravo Band
- Marinero Group

All of these are vetted!

Hey, if you take a closer look at the posts you're replying to, they were posted ages ago... most people have probably already found the band by now (if you ask me).
😍

Help out the newbies here.🙂

And hey, try not to bring up the T. OFF band too often... it starts sounding like you're just self-promoting. ☕
frozentinker3 said:Check out Marko Photography in San Diego—he's also great!

With Marko, you’ve really only got one solid crew (Patrick and Zvoniti), though John the videographer is pretty great too...
I've heard girls complaining about their work for a while now...
But hey, everyone's got different tastes.😉

P.S: If you're looking for bands, I'd definitely recommend Twist OFF 🤷

Harold Booth4 said:Thanks a ton for the tip. I’m supposed to track them down today to pick up a DVD of some performance so I can hear them for myself. But hey, when someone vouches for them like this, that's already a massive plus. 👍

No worries at all! 😁

Just watch a DVD and see for yourself—though honestly, you can't go wrong with the Pink Panther... 😍

Harold Booth4 said:Hey ladies, I finally decided to jump into this forum because I could use some advice on planning a party, and apparently, this is the spot to get the real scoop. Does anyone here know what Disney is actually like? Thinking about booking them for my bash, so I’m curious if you’ve dealt with them before. Or maybe the Pink Panther? Thanks for the help 🙂

I honestly don't know anything about Barbie....
But man, Pink Panther is top-tier... I was at a wedding recently where they played, and even without a female vocalist, those guys absolutely crushed it! They weren't just standing there all night either; they kept the energy pumping and the vibe totally electric. I'm not sure how they sound with a female singer, but even just the guys? Total madness! 👍😍

Is anyone in Bellevue or Savannah around??
I need an answer ASAP 🙂 thanks thanks thanks!

Oh, and while you're at it—does anyone know how much a standard pot of chili holds?
😕

I’ve also got a place in Bellevue and Savannah! 🙂
And you can bet I’m voting for Bellevue too! 👍

placidharbor21 said:Castella is probably a bit too far out since I'm living in Miami, and honestly, I can already picture the absolute chaos and crowds on my wedding day, so having everything close by is a massive priority for me.

I’ve also heard nothing but praise for Antonia, but she doesn't live locally, so unfortunately, that's not really an option for me...

Anyway, thank you so much for all the info!

If anyone else in this group has a recommendation for a killer hairstylist in Miami who specializes in wedding looks, I would be eternally grateful for the lead!!!

Quick correction... Antonia Guć actually does come home! 😁

I'll shoot you my number via PM 😍

placidharbor21 said:Honestly, that sounds like a killer idea for some cookies. 👍 👍Look, if my restaurant manager tells me we’re ditching the homemade desserts, then fine, that's exactly what I'll do—I'll follow orders. But let's be real for a second: nothing else even comes close. To me, homemade sweets are the absolute gold standard, period. You try to compare them to those mass-produced, store-bought things you find at a grocery store? It’s not even a fair fight. They just don't have that soul, you know? So, if that's the call, then kiss it goodbye, because I'm definitely not going to argue about it. 😳 Now that's what I call a stellar suggestion! Seriously, you hit the nail right on the head with that one.

Honestly, Blackbird Florist and Katie over at the Pujanko shop are hands down my absolute favorites, so I’m definitely planning on taking a little stroll through the neighborhood in the next few days just to see what kind of deals they're running!

I was just sitting here wondering—since my party isn't until this June—is it actually too early to start locking down a florist? I know, I know, I probably sound like I'm planning my life three years in advance, but you never know how these things go.

Hey silentpuma28, did you end up getting your hair or makeup done by Antonia Guć too? A few different girls have been raving about her lately, and honestly, I’m pretty much sold on booking her at this point. I just wanted to see if you had a similar experience before I pull the trigger—feel free to shoot me a DM if that's easier!

Alright, I’ve got another question for all you ladies out there—especially those of you who’ve already taken the plunge and walked down the aisle, so you actually have some real-world experience to draw from:
Does anyone have a lead on a killer hairstylist? I’m looking for a total pro who specializes in formal looks—specifically those high-end wedding hairstyles that actually stay put all night. I need someone who really knows their stuff when it comes to updos and bridal styling. Any recommendations?

So, I was scrolling through the forums earlier and caught wind of some guy over at Urban who apparently kills it with those non-traditional, edgy hairstyles—you know, the kind that aren't just your standard, boring "get me a trim" look. I’m assuming we're talking about something a bit more experimental and not just the typical classic cut everyone gets when they're playing it safe. Does anyone actually know anything about his work, or am I just chasing ghosts here?

I am all ears, so please, don't hold back—any and all recommendations are more than welcome!🙂

Goga did yours... she's a makeup artist from Sućurac, and honestly, everyone loves her work. She even travels to you! But hey, let silentpuma28 give us more details first...

I'll most likely be going with Antonia Guć. She's coming to my place—though I heard she doesn't usually do house calls, she's making an exception because a close friend highly recommended her... so she's being super accommodating!

Little8 had an amazing makeup artist... seriously, highly recommend!

Megan Miller3 said:Hey everyone...

So, I’ve found myself in a bit of a bind regarding the band selection 😢
It’s one of those classic dilemmas—too many choices and not enough certainty—especially since everyone happens to be available on our specific date

- The Millennium Musicians (they play a mix of traditional acoustic, some West Coast vibes, and general party/pop hits—since the wedding is in California). I’m a little hesitant only because I’m not entirely sure how our guests will feel about a folk-style group, though the guys are honestly lovely people!
- The Pink Panther band—four guys plus a female vocalist. Has anyone here actually heard them before?
- The Barbie band—all male, I believe there are four of them.

Thanks a million....

The Pink Panther? Caught them playing at a party recently and man, they absolutely killed it. Nothing but high praise from my side! 👍👍

goldenmarlin14 said:Wonderful. So, I suppose they just cater to every whim? Or what's the deal?

I know for a fact they'll customize stuff... like, if you show up with a photo of a cake you love (I've heard plenty of girls doing this for weddings in California), they'll whip up an exact replica for you... and the prices aren't even that crazy.👍

I am currently on the hunt for an exceptional bakery in San Francisco to design a wedding cake... I seriously need some HELP!

restlesstiger71 said:The Old Sailor is my top choice so far. If it starts raining, I can just move everything inside, which is a huge plus for me. Plus, the food there is incredible. I checked out the arcade earlier, but even though they claim it holds 120–130 people, it felt pretty empty to me. I was thinking about grabbing some BBQ ribs, but the prices jumped up so much I decided against it. Everyone keeps recommending Hotel Honey or some spot in San Diego near a Target, but I don’t even know the name or where it's located, so I'm stuck. I'm also debating whether it's actually wise to drive home drunk from San Diego.

I can give you the lowdown on my venue... it's in Savannah, the one everyone mentions being above Walgreens... actually, it's not below it, it's right on the top floor of the building... 😍
The hall is called Bellevue....you're looking at a minimum of 130 people in that space... For anything else, just shoot me a PM.
As for whether it's smart to drive home drunk from Savannah? Man, I don't know what to tell you... if you were at any other venue, you'd be asking the exact same thing...

casualranger3 said:🤣🤣🤣 I'm heading over to studio in this afternoon. They told me they have August 29th open, so I'm going to go lock that in. Once that's settled, I can breathe easy for a few months. Does anyone know where I can pick up cardstock for invitations and all that other stuff? I'm planning on making them myself.😕

For invitation paper, you're probably best off checking out that shop near the traffic light, or maybe there's a craft store over in the suburbs... It really just depends on the vibe you're going for. Whether you want something super minimal or fancy with tons of detail...

I actually thought about making my own invites at first, but then I totally chickened out... but hey, if you've got the passion and the vision, why not go for it?

That's awesome news about studio in...👍 you're gonna love it, just wait and see! 😍

And man, if you end up booking the same band again too... 😍

casualranger3 said:I basically gave them an earful and told them they needed to reconsider. I’m meeting with them this Friday, so please wish me luck 🙏. Honestly though, these prices for session musicians are insane—and we're even paying for their gear setup—it feels like a bit much. It’d probably be better to just find someone through Craigslist😍.

Fingers crossed everything works out! Look, all the top-tier bands charge a premium... personally, I don't mind dropping some cash if it means the band actually kills it at the party
As for those random people you find on Craigslist? I don't even want to go there🤣

Look, I actually hired brava bend... they’re already booked up, but honestly, those guys are incredible.
I can definitely vouch for Studio in for photography—they're my top choice, and they'll be shooting my wedding too. Seriously, these guys are worth every penny and highly recommended... www.weddingstudioin.com

rapidmason10, what kind of rate are they giving you for the three of them? I called them up and they quoted me $1,300. I told her I was at a wedding just last month where they were only $1,000, but now she's claiming prices are going up for next year. I told her straight up—let's just sign the contract this year while we can still lock in the old rate.🤣🤣🤣

I actually added a fourth member—an extra guitarist—so my total is $1,500 ($200 more than their trio price). For just the three of them, it's $1,300. 👍
Everyone hiked up their rates for 2025, just like Raymond Brooks7 was saying...
casualranger3 said:I’ll most likely be putting down the deposit for the "Sun Valley" hall tomorrow 🙏 I still need to lock in a band and a photographer—I checked out the Barbary trio and they seem solid—but does anyone have a photographer they’d recommend? I see everyone raving about Studio IN

Here’s the deal: I actually booked the Barbary band... already paid the deposit, and honestly, those guys are killer. 👍
As for photography, I can totally vouch for Studio in... best in the business for me. They're doing my video too... seriously top-tier guys, highly recommend... www.weddingstudioin.com

Sun Valley Hall... I haven't heard anything bad about them, so 👍

Sarah Nguyen60 said:I find myself with a few inquiries regarding a suit for my partner. Does anyone happen to know the exact location of Mr. Mot? Is he situated on that stretch of road near The Joker? Furthermore, I am curious as to what the approximate price range for suits might be at that establishment.

My bad...it's actually on American Civil War Boulevard...if you know where that is. Just Google "Mister Mot Suits" and it'll give you the exact address.
