Betty Hernandez4 said:There’s a shop right downtown, just across from the post office... if you take the stairs to the right of the Traffic Light cafe, you'll find a place with all kinds of paper. You can buy it in A3 sheets, but they should be able to cut it down to A4 for you—then you can print the invites normally. They can even handle the final cutting once everything is printed.🙂

Does anyone know what kind of prices we're looking at here?

The energy is incredible; these guys just don't quit!

Paul King5 said:We passed on Aria. 😢Honestly, I don't think I'll ever regret it. The venue is gorgeous—both my guy and I fell in love with it instantly.
The only issue is it’s just too big for our wedding. We’re looking at about 120 guests, and that number might even drop, but this place holds over 200. I don't want a half-empty room feeling awkward...
The owner is awesome and the deal is solid. It's $40 for Saturdays, then $38 for Fridays and Sundays, and kids under 10 are $20. On Saturdays, there's a 130-person minimum; if 10 people flake, you still pay for 130. For Friday and Saturday, the headcount doesn't matter as much. They provide their own decor, including lavender and champagne linens, plus cool lighting effects throughout the hall. There's plenty of parking, smoking is allowed, and they don't have a curfew.
The food menu includes: prosciutto, cheese, French style, fish pâté, black or white risotto (you can swap one for shrimp pasta), beef stew, chicken in gorgonzola sauce, roasted lamb (which can be mixed with pork or veal from the oven), and dessert (a mix of store-bought and homemade).

We checked out Amigos too, but it felt way too small for us. It's perfect for maybe 80 people, but my 120 guests would be tripping over each other. Price is $40 (same for kids), and the newlyweds get a free night stay. Great spot for a summer wedding...

Now we're headed to check out Fable. I went there for a wedding a few years back. It's decent, though it feels a bit sterile, but you could probably fix that with some good decor...

I actually think Fable doesn't even host weddings anymore.

Since you were already checking out Amigos, shouldn't you have looked at Dioklecijan too?
And what about the others??

Peter Collins90 said:Hey everyone... I'm curious about how you went about selecting your photography studio—specifically, how you chose the people behind the lens? Did you judge them based on their portfolio, their pricing, or maybe just word-of-mouth recommendations? What was your main deciding factor, and what kind of price range should I be looking at? I don't want to spend hours scrolling through everything from the beginning 🙂 and if anyone has a solid recommendation to share...

I made my choice based on their workflow, a heavy-duty recommendation, and the price felt right ($1,600 for a mid-range package), but honestly, once I actually sat down and talked to them, I just clicked with them...........

Sophia Phillips3 said:So, I’m currently torn between booking the Volar bend or the Milan Terze trio. Honestly, I’m halfway tempted to just call it a "duo" and invite Ivo, or maybe just hire Vice and Vilma and see where the night takes me... seriously though, has anyone here actually been to a wedding featuring any of these acts? I could really use some real-world intel. thanks

The Vine and Ivo duo? Honestly, the energy is incredible—they're such great guys.
Sophia Phillips3 said:I’m really not feeling a duo for this. Honestly, a full-on 4 or 5-piece band just feels more natural to me, you know? Miro Boem is already booked up on that date, and I've never been a huge fan of Barbara or that Uber cover band—saw them at a party once and they just weren't my vibe. I did end up chatting with the Volare band, so I’m planning to catch them live to see if they hit the mark. Has anyone here actually seen them perform before? Any intel?

So, what date are we talking about exactly??
Walter Nelson56 said:Can anyone recommend a decent wedding lighting company in the San Francisco area? Also, has anyone here actually used special effects or custom lighting setups before?🙂

Some bands actually come with their own custom lighting rigs included in the booking fee, so if you’re looking to hire a group for an event, why wouldn't you just ask them straight up if they bring their own gear?
Sophia Phillips3 said:Hey everyone, quick question—does anyone have any solid recommendations for a band out of the San Francisco area? I’m trying to book some live music for a party, and the crowd is going to be mostly young people. I need a group that can play pretty much anything and actually knows how to get a room hyped up. Any leads? Thanks in advance!

Anthony Chase25 said:Probably around September or October next year. I just started looking into things yesterday, so 😁 I'm completely lost. Where do I even start? Should I be hunting for a venue or a church first?

Look, you need to lock in the venue, the music, and the photographer first; you'll have plenty of time to figure out everything else.

Anthony Chase25 said:That guy over at the Marina is a total LEGEND! We ordered a cake from him once. He's a wizard—he makes every dollar count! 😍

One more thing, how much did you guys end up paying per person for the reception? Like, is it roughly $30-$35 plus extra for all those fancy extras?
Trying to nail down our wedding budget right now, so I'd love to know what to expect. Thx 🙂

Between the music, photography, the cake, invitations, thank-you notes, rentals, and flowers, there are just so many little details to account for.
When is the big day?

William Cook35 said:Aside from Delta and Bobis over in Split, where else can I track down some actually decent wedding cakes and pastries? I'm looking for something with a proper certification, but let’s be real—I don't want to pay through the nose like I'm buying solid gold.

Olivia Lee5 said:Hey everyone, I was wondering if you all tend to order catering for home events, or if you prefer to whip up the food yourselves? If you do decide to go the DIY route, what are you thinking of making? I’m currently sitting here crunching the numbers and doing some math. It looks like Baletni would charge $20 per person, while Gusar is around 85-$40 per person, and I still need to check in with Pimpinelon... honestly, it’s quite a significant amount of money, which feels a bit steep if you ask me. But then again, if I were to handle everything myself, I wouldn't really know what to offer besides maybe some cheese, charcuterie, and desserts... if I tried to make fancy canapés, I’d just end up dealing with the headache of slicing bread and handling all the decorations... 🤷

Regarding photographers—I've actually made my decision and gone with California Photography because their work is significantly better than Mark Photography. In my opinion, Mark Photography is a total disaster; the only photographer who truly does a fantastic job is Boris. Zvoniti isn't bad, but they aren't anything special either. California Photography has a large team, and of course, not everyone there is performing at a top-tier level, but I specifically requested either Miro or Matthew, as they produce absolutely stunning shots, and I managed to secure one of them. I'm not particularly worried about the videography side of things, so we just opted for their most budget-friendly video package, paired with the second most expensive photo package plus a large album. All in all, it's going to cost us about $2,000. California Photography is definitely one of the pricier studios in ST, but when it comes to photography, I didn't want to make any compromises, so I chose them.

Maybe ask Rusulica or Little Kate what kind of catering deals they can hook you up with.

Betty Hernandez4 said:A few more questions... does anyone have experience with Photo California? The shots on Facebook look amazing, but I remember reading some old forum threads suggesting I should be careful about which studio handles my session... apparently there are a few different ones out there.

That’s exactly the deal with Photo California—you really have to be careful about which specific photographer they end up sending to the big day, especially if you're looking at their Instagram.

irontrucker13 said:Hey everyone, I’ve got another one where I’m honestly just looking for some direction...

We’re planning a backyard BBQ on the stone patio and I can't decide if we should go with Volar or Barbary. Also, has anyone ever been to a cookout where the Macao band or Jakov Kasalo ??? were playing?

Barbary is definitely the way to go.👍

The church service at St. Jude’s: everything went smoothly, and there wasn't much of a crowd or any distractions during the mass.
Dinner at The Pirate: honestly, the food and the atmosphere were top-tier. I’d highly recommend it—the service was great, the prices were fair, and they really treated us well.
Photographer, Ivan Miller: this guy is in a league of his own. He's worth every penny. He's approachable, down-to-earth, and just easy to work with. Definitely look him up.
Band, Rhythm Tide: since they're a trio, they sounded incredible, and the female vocalist was fantastic. They really set the mood, and they have a great way of picking and playing new tracks. Highly recommended.

batelant those are some stellar choices
if you'd just throw a few photos our way, we'll have the perfect 👍👍👍👍

Sandra Miller5 said:We really need some help picking out a venue... we're looking at about 100 to 130 guests, mostly younger folks who aren't really into that whole fancy-schmancy aesthetic, you know? We want more of a high-energy, party-hard vibe 🤣 We're hoping for a space that looks decent—maybe a little above average—but nothing too "budget" or run-down, like those cheap community centers in the outskirts of Chicago where it feels like you're just there for the ceremony 🙂 but we absolutely need the service and the food to be top-tier... We were looking at the area around Orange County or maybe somewhere near San Diego... There's this one restaurant in Irvine that seems okay, everyone raves about it, but people say it's right next to a gas station and stuff like that, which isn't ideal, so if anyone has any ideas

In-N-Out👍 👍👍👍 honestly, can't complain about them...
Check out Amigos, George, San Antonio, or Dioklecijan in the suburbs.

Maybe try hunting for it on eBay.
