I saw some posters saying there was going to be a concert
the announcement said it was some kind of folk-metal...
I didn't go...
I have no clue what that even is, and honestly, "folk-metal" sounds a little ridiculous to me...
Hey, if that's someone's thing, more power to them!

David Newman50 said:An absolute failure. Without Iran and Hezbollah involved... you're basically just looking at a bunch of chickens in a coop. It’s like when the head farmer was lecturing them and the hens were just staring blankly—that's your idea of "success."

I'm right there with you!
The real issue is that the West isn't willing to let Iran officially take the lead in reshaping the Middle East.

The Golden State Warriors have much bigger issues on their plate right now than just some bad results in the Champions League. Beyond the coaching situation, one of the massive headaches at this club is the influence of guys like Mamic or Gobac. I still remember how shady things got back when the Boston Celtics signed those heavy sponsorship deals, and then they went ahead and brought Cavar into the fold in the same year. Man, the guy was absolutely livid—I mean, how does anyone even dare offer that kind of cash to the Boston Celtics when they’re supposed to be backing "their own" Golden State Warriors? I honestly didn't expect that from such a top-tier official within USA Handball. Someone in that position should be looking out for the success of the entire American handball scene, not playing games where it's "if I can't have it, nobody can."

Daniel Cooper40 said:I mean, what can you do? When Kljajić was in charge, they played terribly, but ever since Lino took over, the team has been on the upswing... there’s really no point in making a change now...

On an upswing? Have you actually watched the last two or three Champions League games? If you have, that looks more like stagnation than any kind of upward trend. Sure, things weren't amazing with Kljajica Jr., but they didn't have the caliber of players that Cervar is working with right now either. And honestly, nothing bugs me more than when people try to justify firing Kljajica by pointing to bad results in preseason scrimmages. Like, seriously, WTF 😕? If New York City keeps having a coach who acts more like a wannabe politician than a strategist, we're in trouble. I'm actually starting to see where Ante Kostelic was coming from when he called Cervar a clown rather than a real coach.

I honestly don't see what the damn problem is, provided you don't overdo it. If you aren't overdoing it, it doesn't lead to addiction, and it certainly doesn't turn you into some psycho—shit... I tried it once... and here I am... looking... waiting... nothing happens.

Just draft up a formal request or a proposal for whichever subforum you're eyeing... then sit tight and see how people react. If you play your cards right, you might just see it happen one day 😉

There’s nothing more frustrating than when Coach Cervar calls a timeout just to tell the guys, "Alright, we have the ball, let's go, let's move now, let's go!" It's honestly exhausting.
Opening a foreign currency account abroad in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Amanda Moore8 said:A few weeks back, I finished up a translation project for an agency based over in Austria—well, they're actually located in a similar part of Europe, let's just say a major European hub. When the payment finally hit my account, I actually went into a bit of a shock—I was looking at a $19.50 deduction for some sort of processing fee. What really threw me for a loop, though, was that when I worked with a different agency from the same region previously, I never saw a charge like that. Both transfers were handled using a standard Routing Number and SWIFT code. My bank—I'm with Bank of America—couldn't really give me a straight answer as to why this happened. From everything I understand, you shouldn't be seeing extra fees just for using a Routing Number and SWIFT.

Anyway, I managed to clear things up with the agency, and they've agreed to send the difference over via PayPal. They did suggest that I should look into opening an account within the European Union to avoid this headache in the future. So, I've been wondering—is it actually possible to open a checking account in the European Union entirely online? If that's a no-go, would I need to physically fly over to Austria to set one up? I did stumble upon a few articles online suggesting that you might need a work permit to do that kind of thing.

Thanks so much for any insight you can share!

I’m honestly not even sure if you’re allowed to hold a foreign account (or keep money in one) anymore. They actually changed some of the rules recently, but you didn't even ask about that. 🙂.

You should really look into opening an account abroad; it’s actually pretty cheap to do. The key is to find somewhere within the Eurozone because transactions across the European Union are basically free—in most cases, moving money from Austria is seamless.

You might find the best rates over at an online bank like Ally; you can always drop by a JP Morgan Chase branch if you need to handle things in person.

Ovo It looks completely free.

So, basically, you transfer the cash to that account, then hit up any ATM in Canada and pull out the money totally fee-free. But if you decide to grab it back here in the States, you're looking at a $1.82 flat fee plus a 0.75% cut of whatever amount you withdraw.

Hey, Little Bear, look—I’m studying at UPenn, so if you’re actually planning on taking the word of some random Americans over me, go ahead... I just graduated, and honestly, I think I'll trust my professors way more than some folks on the internet.

Ethan Garcia8 said:There's a contradiction there. Veggies are carbs too.

By the way, those theories about not mixing protein and low-carb foods are pretty controversial, and hardly anyone actually follows them. Plus, you really should just cut bread and potatoes out entirely.

it's good to eat fruit before those, you know, main meals (I don't feel like typing out why or how right now)

Why? Come on, type it out. 🙂

Regarding carbohydrates—that's a massive topic and there's a huge difference between types... (I'm actually studying something related to this, so I won't get too deep into the weeds here)...

You shouldn't cut anything out of your diet completely because of all the different cycles happening in your body. You actually need bread and potatoes; if you cut them, you might trigger some physiological reactions that aren't great for you.

Also, you really ought to eat fruit before your main meals. Vitamins are much smaller molecules compared to other nutrients in food. If you eat fruit right after lunch, for example, while your body is busy breaking everything else down, the vitamins will just break apart, making the fruit totally useless!
Is that enough for you? 😍

For starters, just cut out all the sweets, junk food, and other mindless snacking...
Some nutritionists actually swear you shouldn't mix proteins (like meat) with carbs (bread, potatoes, etc.) at the same meal.

Try pairing your meat with veggies instead... ideally, keep everything cooked—both the protein and the vegetables—though salads are obviously fine.🙂

It’s usually recommended to go with some whole grains in the morning rather than hitting the bread, pâté, or deli meats... though honestly, I think you can treat yourself to that once a week instead of sticking strictly to grains.

It's also a good idea to eat fruit before those heavier main courses (and I really don't feel like typing out the whole "why" and "how" behind that right now).
I hope this helps a little bit! 🙂

Good grief, you guys!
To me, Independence Day is basically a James Bond movie. It’s so ridiculously hilarious that even parodying it feels redundant—the movie is a total parody of itself!
