10,000 cigarettes for a wheelchair? in Health ·
Has anyone heard anything—or even just caught a rumor—about this promotion?
We’ve managed to collect 10,000 coupons, but we’re stuck because we have no idea who to contact to redeem them for the stroller we want for our friend! If you happen to know anything at all about what I'm talking about, PLEASE let me know here or shoot me an email at: anonimus_7@net.hr

THANKS IN ADVANCE! 😘
Awkward exam experience in Health ·
Look, I’m over 40, and bleeding like that just isn't normal.
No matter how old you are, if this happens, something is definitely off.

And regarding breast exams—those aren't actually handled by gynecologists; they're done by radiologists. They're the same specialists who interpret mammogram images.

Most women find pelvic exams uncomfortable when they're younger, but once you've gone through pregnancy and childbirth, they can feel even more intense than anything else. Honestly, believe me, ladies, men have it much worse with prostate exams.
What should I get for a godparent gift at a Baptism? in Students & Teens ·
Samuel Diaz said:Nah, you seriously don't need to drop that much cash on a First Communion gift... my godmother back then was actually my aunt, and I remember telling her straight up that the last thing I wanted was just money, because honestly, cash just disappears into thin air and leaves you with absolutely nothing to hold onto... zero memories...

I ended up getting this white gold ring with a ton of cubic zirconia that I picked out myself, and even though it cost a fortune ($333) I wear it every single day because I am just sooo obsessed with it...

It wasn't even like I sat my aunt down and made a list of what I wanted... she actually called me a few days before the ceremony and told me to meet her downtown so we could head to this one jewelry store, and she basically told me to pick out whatever ring caught my eye, since she knows I'm totally obsessed with rings and nothing else... I found the perfect one, but when the jeweler told us it was going to be $333 I actually had to take it off and tell them I didn't want it, mostly because they were newlyweds and clearly needed their money more than I did, so it felt super wrong to let them spend that much on me...

But she ended up coming back later and bought it for me anyway, bringing it over right on the day of the ceremony, but man, believe me when I say I didn't touch that thing for weeks because the guilt was just eating me alive... she kept asking why I wasn't wearing it, but I just felt so bad about the whole thing... now, though, I wear it constantly, it's big, it's gorgeous... and it means everything to me...

Look, I didn't have my First Communion until I was 21, but I know for a fact that for teenagers, it’s all about the money, money, money... honestly, I feel like they should push these ceremonies back to when kids are 20 or 21 or something, just so they might actually have a different perspective on things... sometimes I really wonder if these kids even grasp what a First Communion is actually about or what the whole point is

Blah blah blah, "maturely embracing Christianity" and all that nonsense.
In the small town where I live [near Austin, Texas], people don't really care whether you've done your communion or not; they just want to judge you. It just goes to show how much of a jerk people can truly be.🧐

Jose Lewis69 said:Around here, the tradition is usually to pick up a Bible and maybe some jewelry—like a little cross necklace or something similar. My sister and I both got stuff like that for our First Communion; we had different godparents and weren't really tied to the same group, so we didn't ask for anything specific. I ended up with a necklace, while my sister got a bracelet. She did the exact same thing when she was acting as a godmother later on. To me, it feels like the right way to go. I just don't get why anyone would drop three and a half grand on a 14-year-old... that's basically someone's entire monthly paycheck 😢

You want my honest take?
My Confirmation is this Saturday, April 21st at 11 AM.
I’m really into CAD and 3D modeling, so having that cash would be awesome for picking up a massive amount of RAM, a new sound card, and a used piano. If you think I'm being selfish, well, newsflash: I'm not. I deserve every penny I get. I'm not expecting anything from anyone $1000 but honestly, if you throw a huge feast—think lobster, sea bass, truffle cheese, premium cured meats, and a mountain of sides and desserts, all homemade and cozy rather than some overpriced restaurant—why wouldn't you buy a gift? If you don't agree, go eat at some fancy farm-to-table bistro instead.$500 At least $400 per person. Honestly, I couldn't care less about Christianity or the church in general. I'm an atheist, and I'm using my Confirmation as a chance to stack up some cash and gold. Plus, I've had enough awkward run-ins with religious people...
She’s been talking trash about me to my friends constantly, so now they call me the "atheist psycho" because everyone else is deeply religious and isn't used to having someone in their circle who doesn't believe in God. Some people actually think I'm mentally unstable or suicidal, and she even told them to stay away from me. 😲 kuja!!!😠 That is such typical Christian behavior. She even tried to mess with my Confirmation plans, so I had to work through all her nonsense just to get her to stop screwing with me. Once this is over, she will NEVER see me in a church again!! I don't want that in my life, even if God were real and I had to face hell. Christians, feel free to quote me and tear me apart; it would be totally on-brand for you to just follow the majority opinion instead of thinking for yourselves.

Psoriasis [PLEASE READ FIRST POST!] in Health ·
brightmarlin110 said:Hey everyone!
I'm dealing with the early stages of this annoying autoimmune condition, and it always flares up whenever I'm stressed out. So far, I haven't touched any traditional medications.
I'm not sure if you caught it, but yesterday on CBS, there was this dermatologist talking about a treatment for psoriasis using "bio-elixirs." Apparently, the whole idea is to detox the body and get the immune system back in balance. They say the process takes about ten days, and while you might deal with some side effects during that time, they claim the cure is permanent once you're done. It’s definitely not cheap, though.
I know, I know—it sounds a bit too good to be true, like something out of a fairy tale, but I can't help but wonder (in my inner Professor Baltazar). Has anyone here actually tried working with Dr. Car or used this specific method? If so, I would love to hear about your experience.

Thanks in advance!

Does anyone happen to know where Dr. Car's office is located? She specializes in psoriasis treatments, and I'd love to figure out how to book an appointment.

Carl Cruz said:Caught this the other day. Not sure if it’s even hit US theaters yet, but if it has, do yourself a favor and watch it. Easily one of the best horror films I’ve seen in a long time.

Personally, it just proves that one solid piece of European horror beats ten American slashers any day of the week.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on the film..?

Well, I finally managed to track it down after quite a hunt! Haven't actually sat down to watch it yet, though—planning on diving in this weekend.😲 😲

Look, I might catch a ban for saying this, but whatever...
Just asking out of curiosity—am I going to be a moderator or what? Just trying to get some clarity here...

Also: velvetgull9, you could have just locked the thread. Not my job to complain, but seriously.
Late-night driving: anyone else? in Law ·
December 17, 2006. I got pulled over by the cops around 1:30 AM. Back then, I was still under those "new driver" restrictions, so I got slapped with a ticket for driving between 11 PM and 5 AM without a licensed supervisor in the car... blah, blah, blah. The fine came out to $167, not even counting the extra $37 in fees.

I filed an appeal, arguing that my job often forces me to stay late—sometimes even working through the weekend (which is true; I’ve stayed at the office until midnight before, though that wasn't the case the night I got caught). Look, I’ll admit I was a rookie driver at the time—only had about 22 months of experience under my belt when I got hit—and yeah, I did technically break the rule. But I'm older than 25 now, and honestly, it feels pretty humiliating to pay $203 for such a stupid mistake, especially since I'm the sole breadwinner for my family and money is tight.

Anyway, four months later, I received a summons to appear in municipal court, and now I'm wondering what the smartest move is. Should I try to call in sick to delay things, hoping to stall long enough to hit the statute of limitations in a year and eight months? Or should I just show up and hope for the best—maybe they'll show some mercy and lower the fine (or worse, tack on more 🙂 in legal costs)? Would it help if my boss wrote a letter confirming I was tied up with an urgent project and had to work overtime during that period? Has anyone here dealt with something similar?

Also, I didn't actually receive the summons myself; my brother signed for it. Is there any way to play that card—like claiming it wasn't my signature and that I was never officially notified?
Issues with breast implants in Health ·
God bless, thanks for all the advice.
I just finished my ultrasound, and now I need to head in for a mammogram too. It looks like some fluid might be collecting between the implant and the skin, but we’ll know for sure once they run more tests. 🙂

USA.biz

So, you promised you wouldn't head down to Florida for vacation this year?

Look, we all get it—the American coast is gorgeous. The water is crystal clear, the islands are incredible, the scenery is top-tier, the girls are stunning, and the guys are pretty easy on the eyes too...

Beyond just the views, they’ve got plenty of other perks. People are friendly. You’ll find bartenders actually trying to speak your language. And whenever you cross that state line, there's always that big, welcoming sign greeting you in English. They really seem to roll out the red carpet for us! Even the local news and radio stations constantly brag about how most of their tourists come from right here in the States. Plus, let's be honest, the prices aren't even that bad.

Okay, fine—I’m lying. You probably already figured that out. I’d bet money that those bartenders are actually pretending not to understand a word we say. When I cross the border, that giant welcome sign lists every single language under the sun—even Russian—but somehow skips ours. And if you turn on the local TV or listen to the radio, it’s always "most tourists are coming from Italy, Austria, or Germany..." They never even mention us. As for the prices? Yeah, they get more ridiculous every single year.

Come on, let's have some self-respect! Let’s tell the USA a firm NO this year. I'd love to see how their tourist season holds up without our business.
Thinking about trying drugs in Health ·
Larry Wells2 said:So, I'm writing this because I'm planning on trying drugs for the first time. I'm 17 and a junior in high school. Just a heads-up: don't bother trying to talk me out of it, because I'm going to do this regardless of whatever stupid comments you leave. I guess I've just reached a point where I feel like I've done everything else and I want to try something new. To be clear, I haven't even touched weed yet. I have zero interest in smoking that. But all my friends are into speed now, and now this other friend is pushing us to try cocaine. Money isn't the issue. I'm just stuck on what to actually go with, so I wanted to hear about your experiences. What's the best way to get a real high without being a total zombie for 24 hours? I'm thinking about doing something Saturday night so that by maybe 2 or 3 in the morning on Sunday, I'm somewhat functional, though I still want the experience to actually hit.

Man, you clearly wrote all that specifically hoping someone would chime in...
