Quick question—does anyone know where I can find some good croquant cakes around Chicago?
Hey, you can actually find a full breakdown of how the procedure works on the Mayo Clinic website—it’s listed under UV B2 cross-linking.
I hope that helps point you in the right direction!
If you have trouble finding it, just let me know and I'll try to walk you through the details.

Charles Cox60 said:I’ve got an eye procedure coming up soon called cross-linking. Apparently, it's meant to stop the progression of keratoconus,
which is when the cornea bulges out. From what I understand, they remove the corneal epithelium (I think it's like a thin layer) and then expose the eye to UV light.
I don't think this has been done here in the States much yet, so if anyone has any experience with it—whether it was your own surgery or someone you know—could you please share? Are there any specific risks I should be worried about?

Overclocking (Main Thread) in Desktops ·
Can anyone give me a hand with overclocking my GPU?
My Gigabyte GV-NX66256DP turbo force edition (6600 with 256MB RAM and a passive cooler)
The current clock speeds are sitting at 450/500
I've got v-tuner2 for software overclocking, but I was wondering if I could swap in an active cooler. Any recommendations? (I can easily pick up a Zalmani 7000B, but would that be overkill in terms of size and weight?) Also, does anyone know how much performance I can realistically squeeze out of this while keeping it stable?

The rest of my rig: AMD Athlon 64 3200, a Gigabyte K8NF9 motherboard, and 2x512 MB of RAM...

Thanks!

Legends like him only come around once in a lifetime... he'll always be an icon.
I’ve been diagnosed with Gilbert’s syndrome. I actually got a deferment from the military, and they told me I’ll most likely be fully cleared once I submit one last set of lab results. My bilirubin levels tend to fluctuate, but they always run pretty high... both times I had my blood drawn, it was over 90. I don't touch alcohol because my hangovers are absolutely brutal... seriously, they are pure torture. My eyes get yellowed, and even my skin changes color... with Gilbert's, the intensity just fluctuates.

For most people, it isn't really an issue, and honestly, it usually isn't for me either... but there are those moments where I wish I didn't have it. I get wiped out so easily; sometimes I'm traveling all day and barely have time to grab a bite to eat... and then I get this feeling like I've been hit by a truck. It sucks. Has anyone else gone through something similar? 👎

I just wanted to weigh in on Detralex tablets. Honestly, they make a massive difference.
They’re especially helpful during those nasty flare-ups—you know, when you're stuck in bed popping Advil just to get by. During an acute episode (when things really go south), they can totally turn things around in about two or three days. Of course, you have to stay on them long-term because they actually work to repair your blood vessels. I definitely know what I’m talking about... I’ve been dealing with this for 20 years. Between piles of corticosteroids, specialized baths, incisions, and all sorts of strict diets, I've lived through what doctors call "chronic daily symptoms." On the downside, Detralex is outrageously expensive ($200 5 boxes... which might last some people 2-3 months). However, if you head over to pharmacies in Canada, you can grab them over the counter, and they're nearly 50% cheaper than they are here ($117 for 5 boxes). My routine is to take 3X2 during a bad flare-up for three days and then taper off... they really work for me (obviously alongside strict hygiene, baths, wheat germ, watching my diet, etc.—but I know everyone on this forum already knows that stuff). I've already reported several posts from this one user (going by the names Dubrovnik or Nikola Tesla), but the mods haven't lifted a finger. So, I'm reaching out one more time to ask that some actual action be taken against this person. Thanks.

I really want to tone up too... I just have no clue where to start. Is there any way to do this without hitting up a gym? Like, can I actually get results with just home workouts?

Hey everyone,
I could really use some advice here if anyone has a moment.
We're getting ready to launch a line of souvenir goods—think specialty liqueurs, sweets, and stuff like that.
What specific details are required on the product labels?
Also, what kind of permits or documentation do we need to clear with the FDA?
Dealing with hemorrhoids in Health ·
Hey everyone

Desperation has officially driven me to this forum—specifically to this thread. I developed hemorrhoids just a few days ago, and honestly, after scouring the entire internet for advice on what to do, I feel even more lost than when I started. Let’s get straight to the point: I need help. And I don't mean vague platitudes; I need actual, actionable advice. To make matters worse, things are getting pretty intense. Since I'm living in the Netherlands, all those specific brands or old-school home remedies you guys mention aren't available to me here, so they're basically useless. I'm begging for some real guidance. Look, I know, I know... "just read all twelve pages of this thread." Believe me, I did. But like I said, I didn't come out any smarter for it. One person says to use cold water, another swears by hot... it's a mess. I even checked Dutch websites, but it's just the same repetitive loop that I don't even find helpful. The consensus over there seems to be that creams and suppositories won't actually fix the problem, they just dull the pain. Apparently, the only real solutions are diet, exercise, or surgery. My diet is decent (though clearly not good enough if this happened), and I stay active since I hit the gym regularly. So, if you feel even half as frustrated as I am reading this rambling post, imagine how much I'm struggling with all these contradictory pieces of advice.

Please, help me out. Between the physical pain and the mental toll, I'm about to lose my mind.

PS: I'm 25 years old... if that even matters.

Thanks so much for any advice or help you can give.

Best regards,

Ivica

Oh, one more thing... I forgot to mention that ever since this started, I've been using a custom cream I got from the local pharmacy. It hasn't done anything to shrink them; it just takes the edge off the pain. Before I started using it, I couldn't sit down or stand up without wanting to scream in agony.

Hey! I have a quick question about women's Taekwondo. Where can I train in the Greater Chicago area? I think there was a club called Pantera or something similar, but I can't seem to find any info online 😢 thanks in advance!
Tampons in Women's Health ·
From what I understand, you shouldn't use a tampon until you actually have your period, mainly because there's a risk of damaging the hymen—at least for those who still have it intact👍

So, here’s the deal... I caught a segment on the news about this new way to treat metastatic breast cancer. I did a little digging online and stumbled upon a website with some really interesting info, but I wanted to see if anyone here knows anything about whether this will be available here in the States. Does anyone know how soon it might roll out, what the requirements are, or what the costs look like?

I mean, if we can even expect it to be an option for us anytime soon...
