Some random vandals set fire to the scaffolding set up in Oakland for a film shoot, and on their way out, they even trashed some historic monuments. 😵 👎
Struggling to sleep? Any tips? in Health ·
It could be an iron deficiency, but honestly, some people are just perfectly healthy and their bodies demand 10 hours of sleep. I know plenty of folks where even 10 hours isn't enough. If you fall into that category, you’ll spend your whole life sleeping through your potential and never actually build anything for yourself. 🙂

There’s another factor to consider here. I read somewhere a while back that there are basically two types of human biorhythms—morning people and night owls. Some people thrive early in the day, while others are at their absolute peak during late-night hours.
The real issue usually hits those night owls who are forced into a standard 9-to-5 grind. Based on their internal clocks, they'd probably be much more productive working the graveyard shift.

Maybe it's just ego if we're talking about a person, 😕 or pure selfishness if it was just an object. 😢

Honestly, if you try to list everything and everyone you truly care about—the stuff you'd grab first if you had to move across the country tomorrow—and something doesn't make that list, then you probably didn't actually need it or care that much. But still, sometimes you find yourself wanting it anyway... just for the sake of having it. 😕

*Unless we're talking about prescription meds.

Look, I’ll comment when
a) they actually start letting other people have an opinion
b) they start paying their damn taxes
c) they follow at least one of their own ten commandments
d) or whatever else you feel like adding to this list

After reading all this, I've gotta go hit the movie theater myself!👍

How do you even begin to explain that feeling when you lose something—or someone—and it’s only then that the gravity of it actually hits you? It’s like you didn't realize how much they meant until there's nothing left.
Duje Draganja: Sellout or just misunderstood? in Other Sports ·
Instead of obsessing over whether Duje is a traitor, let’s just give Kozulj a huge congrats on that bronze medal! 👍

By the way, does anyone have any actual, solid intel on whether Duje is really going to be forced to swap his name for an Arabic one?

That’s exactly my point. 👍>

They just want to ruin the magic and grab a quick paycheck. 😬
It looks like they’re planning to film a remake of that classic horror flick, *The Preamble: Mark of the Beast*, across Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Naperville. The federal government has already greenlit the project, but now we’ve got this bizarre standoff where local officials and the Church are digging their heels in, claiming they won't allow "Satan to wander through the plazas and cathedrals." They’re calling the movie satanic without a second thought, even though the whole plot is actually about fighting against Satan.

Just our usual local drama, folks—you couldn't make this stuff up... 👎

If you’re planning on working out, try not to do it after 8 PM—you don't want that adrenaline spike keeping you wired. But seriously, get moving! Whether it's running, hitting the gym, or swimming...

If you find yourself napping in the afternoon, try cutting that out of your routine altogether. You’re much better off just going for a nice, easy stroll instead. Also, maybe skip the afternoon coffee, ditch the heavy dinners, and most importantly—stop stressing out. Nothing kills sleep faster than being worked up. Try not to pull any all-nighters studying unless it's absolutely necessary; move that workload to the morning if you can. Otherwise, you're just setting yourself up for a stressful night.

Sometimes, having a glass of wine or a beer helps. Grab a light book or just flip through the TV channels—watch the news or maybe a horror movie, whatever doesn't overstimulate you. 😁

Or, you could always just try some Melatonin. 😉

Welcome to the club... if this has only been hitting you lately, it might just be the heatwave. There are nights where I’m tossing and turning until 3 AM even though I hit the sack before midnight, and honestly, trying to be productive at the office the next morning is a total nightmare.

Maybe try a warm cup of milk right before bed.
Or just take matters into your own hands. 😁

Can we coexist with Americans again? in Close to Politics ·

Sure, there were supposedly "free elections" after the war (just ask your 😁 grandfather).

If Americans hadn't been part of the resistance, those partisan groups would have had a completely different level of influence and power—which means Churchill might have handled the Middle East differently, making a return to the Kingdom much more likely.

The one silver lining in that scenario would be seeing the opposition finally clean up their act 😁 and move on.

The Russians didn't just pack up and leave any of the Eastern European countries they took over, so I highly doubt they would have left the South alone either. Personally, I think we'd still end up with a communist government.

And regarding those "free" elections—did I ever say they were actually free? The only difference is that instead of "freely" choosing our own local communists, we would have "freely" chosen the ones sent by Moscow.

Without Americans involved in the resistance, I seriously doubt those partisan groups would have evolved past being just a guerrilla movement. Of course, they would have gained massive momentum once the Soviet troops arrived (just like they did everywhere else in Eastern Europe).

If we had actually stayed unified (under those fascists—what a nightmare that would’ve been... 🙂 🙂 🙂 ), there wouldn't have been any chance for a dictator to rise, nor would we have seen guerrilla warfare on our soil or an exile government hiding out in New York City.

Post-war, we probably would've faced a Soviet occupation followed by "free" elections where the communists would have swept the polls anyway.

The big question is whether we would've even kept California and the islands. Honestly? Probably not. Our Western allies likely wouldn't have fought for them.

Plus, we’d be stuck with the permanent stain of being labeled one of the most genocidal peoples on the planet, all while facing constant retribution from the Mexicans. 🙄

At that point, I wonder if we’d even exist as a nation at all.

When you really weigh everything up, it might have actually been better if we had just stayed united under the partisans! 👍
