It looks like they’re planning to film a remake of that classic horror flick, *The Preamble: Mark of the Beast*, across Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Naperville. The federal government has already greenlit the project, but now we’ve got this bizarre standoff where local officials and the Church are digging their heels in, claiming they won't allow "Satan to wander through the plazas and cathedrals." They’re calling the movie satanic without a second thought, even though the whole plot is actually about fighting against Satan.

Just our usual local drama, folks—you couldn't make this stuff up... 👎

Sometimes I just can't wrap my head around the sheer laziness of those running our Church.

I mean, what's the worst that could happen? Is the mark of the beast actually going to stomp through the streets we walk on? Would he really be "scared" of the San Francisco Archdiocese itself?
Some little Monsignor would probably just wag a finger at him and say, "Now hold on there, dear boy, you aren't going anywhere!" 🙄 🙏

It honestly bothers me how some clergy members feel they have the absolute right to judge and dictate everything.

I just wanted to say that this is all just plain nonsense...

The movie hits theaters next May, which means it was finished AGES ago...

There's some second unit filming out in San Francisco right now, basically just capturing outdoor spots meant to pass for Africa...

And our journalists just can't help themselves when it comes to talking out of turn...

It's because they comment with such calculated malice that they end up dictating the narrative from the jump.

They act like they've been handed some divine mandate to play judge, jury, and moral compass.

...David Thewlis 😍 — the man who absolutely floored me with his performance in Leigh's "Naked" 😍 — is going to be hitting San Francisco and Philadelphia... they'll get to see him in person...

...but since I'm stuck in NYC, I won't actually get to witness any of it... 😢

...besides, the movie probably won't be anything special—remakes are rarely worth the hype anyway... 🙂

David Thewlis acts in that remake of the mark of the beast—so a colleague of mine concluded that if they were filming down there, he would likely show up too. And then, somehow, I ended up being the one cheering them on. 🎉

If one can even call it sophisticated—and I use that term loosely—to transform this thread from a critique of certain religious zealots into nothing more than shameless flattery regarding the life and work of David Thewlis.

Indeed—I am simply lifting my aristocratic nose to the heavens and uttering a resounding "bah!" — though, truth be told, I find myself feeling quite weary of the whole affair.
