What should I tell my doctor? in Health ·
You can't get any sleep because you're constantly looking over your shoulder, terrified that someone's going to jump out and attack you again.

Jade said:No, it’s not that those masters weren't great while they were alive; it's more that they aren't useful to us anymore because they're gone. The idea is that true "knowledge" can only be transmitted from a living master. And I don't mean knowledge in terms of concepts, theories, or religious rituals... I don't know if that's actually true, but I've come across people who believe that.

People often say it's impossible to reach the finish line without a master or guru, and there's truth to that. For instance, in the lives of many yogis—whose goal is reaching nirvakalpa samadhi through practice—it's often said their teacher "gifted" it to them. Basically, they might be able to reach savikalpa on their own (though they still need help), but some believe nirvakalpa is almost always something handed down by a master... but hey, what do I know? We're talking about things like savikalpa and nirvikalpa as if we actually understand them, when really, I haven't a clue. 😬

It's true that someone like Raman achieved everything without a guru, yet he insisted it was impossible to hit the mark without one (he basically argued that just because he didn't have a physical guru doesn't mean he didn't have one in spirit).

But 😕

do you honestly think these kinds of people just pop up out of nowhere and happen to stumble upon us just to pull us out of our mental messes?

It's not for nothing they say a guru appears only when the student is ready.

Just the other day, I read this about the student of Tat Wale baba, a famous yogi from last century who still looks after his ashram/cave today:

I was seven years old when I left home in search of Shiva. I wandered all over America and finally, a yogi told me to go perform tapas (asceticism, penance, spiritual work) in the Himalayas, where I might find God. So, in 1965, I headed to Rishikesh and stayed at Swargashram. While there, I read in a book that it is impossible to achieve moksha (liberation) or realize Brahman without a guru. My search for a guru became an obsession. I went to Manikut Mountain to dedicate myself to Tapas, still hoping I would encounter Lord Shiva. As I climbed the mountain, I came across Tat Wale baba sitting on a rock in front of his cave. He looked just like Mr. Shiva to me. When I saw him, my heart and body started shaking so much that I ran into the woods in fear, hiding under a tree until evening before returning to Swargashram. For the next three days, I sat by the Ganges, played the guitar, fasted, drank only water from the Ganges, and prayed to God for guidance. Finally, I returned to Tat Wale baba's cave. This time, I wasn't afraid. We locked eyes at the same moment. He smiled at me, and I immediately felt a profound connection. That's how I ended up staying with him.

Someone who left home at seven years old to hunt for a guru and spent all those years in intense spiritual practice clearly didn't just stumble into this by accident; opportunities like that don't just fall into your lap.

So, how do you become ready, and how do you even recognize a true master? Honestly, we should follow the teachings and spiritual discipline of the "departed" masters and try to make the absolute most of our own lives and spirits. What more could a guru possibly want from us?

Strike number two, Kakadu!

That’s exactly how Jose Reyes kicked things off back in May last year—taking it one tiny step at a time until he finally saw the light.
Let's go, Vegas! 😉

Look, the church actually has a point here—excessive masturbation can seriously mess with your head and drive you toward madness. 😲

And honestly, I think I’m going to hold off on walking all over those feet after all. 😁

If we actually had more living masters available—and I’m definitely not talking about cheap knockoffs like our own master John 😁—we wouldn't need to rely on the dead. But until someone better comes along, they'll just have to do. 😛

It’s definitely not the first time I’ve heard the old saying that you can’t get anything useful from a dead master (and yeah, that includes Jesus, Muhammad, Bud, and everyone else)... 🤔
How do I re-enable cookies? in Forum Help! ·
Thanks IMF, but I’ve honestly tried everything and it just won't let me send anything anymore. I guess this is where we say goodbye...

P.S. That avatar of yours is pretty terrifying 🙂
If anyone could please let urbanhawk85 know that I’m truly sorry, but we can't keep talking because of all this nonsense, I'd really appreciate it.

I'm running into the exact same issue... I accidentally deleted my email, and this is actually the very first message I've managed to send. Could someone please walk me through how to actually reply to a message? I'm totally lost here. 😕 😕
It just keeps giving me this error saying... access is denied... 😕
Raul might be leaving Real Madrid in Soccer ·
If only he’d just get out of the way so Owen can play, and later on, Robinho too. He’s completely washed up—he was incredible when he was younger, but now? Nothing. At least Owen actually wants to be out there on the field.
King Arthur in Movies ·
Believe it or not, the historical Lucius Artorius Castus—one of the leading candidates for King Arthur—is actually buried in a tomb in St. Petersburg near Miami. This man served everywhere from Rome all the way to Appalachia.

Diet Coke in Health ·
If you’re absolutely going to grab a Coke, just get a Diet instead—at least there's less sugar involved. Honestly, regular Coke is basically liquid poison. They overhype it in commercials just to trick people into buying more and poisoning themselves. You're much better off sticking to unsweetened fruit juices or non-carbonated drinks.

Do you drink tap water? in Health ·
I don't touch tap water because I keep hearing all sorts of rumors about it being sketchy. I’d much rather just grab a bottle of Jane or some Clearwater instead. It’s not like the tap water is straight poison, but it definitely isn't the healthiest option either.
A few quick questions in Health ·
Hey everyone! So, as you can probably tell, I’m pretty new here (and no, don’t let my username fool you, I’m actually a guy 🙂). I’ve got a few questions and I was hoping if there are any experts in the group, you could give me some straight answers—I’m definitely a novice when it comes to this stuff.

Question #1: Pain in the perineum area.

Sometimes after having sex with my girlfriend, I get this pain right between my anus and my testicles (I think I read somewhere that it has a specific name, but I can't remember). It doesn't happen every time—maybe once in every ten times or so—and the pain isn't intense; it usually clears up within about half an hour. I'm just wondering if this is something dangerous or if I should be worried.

Question #2: My girlfriend is on birth control pills, and every time we have sex, my fluids seem to "leak out" of her afterward. Again, I'm asking: is this normal? Shouldn't everything stay inside?🙂 Honestly, using a condom would be way easier because she feels bad that things keep "leaking" for an hour or two afterward. So, is this a standard thing, or is something wrong with her (or maybe me... leading into question #3)

Question #3: Following up on question #2 regarding whether something is wrong with me. Basically, when I ejaculate, it doesn't really "shoot" out; it just kind of flows out. Is that considered a problem, or is that totally normal?

Thanks in advance for any help. I really hope I don't get roasted too hard here; I'm genuinely concerned about these three things and I really don't know what I'm doing.

Thanks again, and sorry for the long vent.

It feels like keeping the peace is my best bet... I don't really buy the whole "teenage angst" thing either, since I'm already 18...

I mean, if I actually told my old man to go to hell or started throwing insults his way... things would get violent fast, and I definitely wouldn't be sleeping under the same roof as him for a few days... so, me backing down just isn't an option...

I'm doing great. 🙂 Most of the time, actually.

Why? Honestly, there's just so much in my life that brings me joy.

Alex Rogers96 said:Okay... but how am I even supposed to tell if I actually need therapy or not? Looking around, I see families that are way more messed up than mine, but then there are others that seem better on the surface—which doesn't necessarily mean they’re actually healthier, right?

Just ask yourself if you're happy or not. If the answer is yes, then you probably don't need it. 😁

So why not give them some actual advice on how to quit for good?😕
