The movie didn't scare me—it actually put me right to sleep 😁
The Blair Witch Project in Movies ·
This is honestly one of the most fascinating horror movies I’ve ever seen. It’s so well-made that by the end, you're just sitting there staring at the screen, questioning whether something like that could actually exist in real life.

I was completely caught off guard—there wasn't a single moment where I could guess what was coming next. You get totally sucked into the story, just waiting to see how everything unfolds.
Once it hits the climax, you're left wondering if what happened to them was even possible, or if there's really something out there like that.

Definitely one of my favorites.
Reiki vs. conventional medicine in Health ·

There were about 30 different Reiki practitioners working on that girl, and now they're all circling back demanding payment—basically asking for whatever they can squeeze out of her. Honestly, the Constitution should probably step in and ban stuff like this!

I'm with you there. If Reiki is this divine energy that belongs to everyone and is accessible to all, why on earth are people charging for it? 😁
And don't even get me started on how you can become a "Reiki Master" just by sitting through a weekend seminar if you've got enough cash in your pocket. 😁
Look, I know there are some genuinely good practitioners out there, but they wouldn't be hovering over someone demanding money or trying to force Reiki on them while shutting out every other way of healing.

Raymond Palmer8 said:So, she has official approval from the Department of Health to start interferon therapy to keep her illness under control—BUT:
Her mentor, coach, or whatever this "Reiki expert" thinks she is, is actually telling her NOT to take the medication because they claim their "treatments" will cure her instead!?
A friend of hers, who is already incredibly fragile and shaken up right now, actually listened to the group and went ahead with the first dose of interferon. And what happened? Her Reiki practitioner chewed her out like a dog for it. Why on earth would she even go through with that?

Seriously, tell me, what kind of morons are these? What are they thinking? How can they prioritize their own "higher goals" over the actual well-being of the person they supposedly "care" about?
If we’ve already agreed that this Reiki stuff might help her regain some self-control and confidence, why can't these damn people accept that "standard" medicine can also play a part in managing her condition?
Does one have to cancel out the other?
Can someone really be such a jerk that they confuse an already mentally exhausted person with all this pseudo-philosophical nonsense?

As far as I'm concerned, Reiki isn't an "alternative" to anything; you can practice it with anyone, anytime, as long as the person wants it. Therefore, interferon or conventional medicine shouldn't be at odds with Reiki at all. But just like anywhere else—even in ezoterija circles—you've got your good guys, bad guys, and confused guys. 😁.

What they did to that girl is wrong and completely goes against everything Reiki should stand for. You really have to ask whether these practitioners are actually fit to help if they behave this way. There are great Reiki practitioners out there—some are even MDs—and while Reiki can certainly provide mental support, trying to shut out essential medical treatment is just ridiculous and stupid. She should probably find a different practitioner. I’m certain the vast majority wouldn't dream of forbidding Western medicine.
"Alternative medicine" is a poor term. All those methods that contribute to health, prevention, and healing are simply different branches of medicine and shouldn't be mutually exclusive. Conventional Western medicine doesn't have to oppose folk medicine; in fact, the latter can complement the former beautifully. I'm mainly thinking of herbalism here. If you have a bladder infection, antibiotics are great, but cranberry juice or herbal teas can be a huge help too. Plants are useful without being harsh. 🙂
And just to touch on that closed thread about curing AIDS. Contrary to what the moderator thinks, I believe it's possible to boost the immune system through medicinal herbs and a healthy lifestyle. While saying people were "cured" of AIDS is unlikely, it's worth analyzing that theory if it helps improve the quality of life for those living with it.

Laura Gomez5 said:That all sounds lovely and wonderful... but it just wouldn't fly with TM. Honestly, the overhead alone would be massive because the organization has ballooned so much since the seventies.

Look, anyone can start their own religious group, church, or whatever they feel like. People should absolutely be allowed to teach courses and sell the knowledge they've acquired. I'm totally fine with that. 🙂

You really can't make that comparison... trust me.
Times have changed... people are dealing with modern struggles that didn't even exist 2000 years ago (like environmental pollution, workplace burnout, school stress, etc.).

What makes a Teacher a Teacher is timeless and transcends space, so all those arguments (at least for me) don't hold water. If Truth were tied to time and space, what kind of Truth would it even be?! 😉 We've covered this extensively on this subforum already. 🙂
People have always faced challenges; only the nature of the problems changes. Instead of worrying about whether we'll catch enough food for dinner tomorrow, we worry about whether our direct deposit hits the bank account on time. 😉

Like I said, I truly have nothing against someone charging for their expertise by selling courses, books, movies, or anything else. Everyone has the right to do what brings them fulfillment. 🙂 It’s up to the buyer to decide if they're getting value, getting ripped off, or just wasting their money. 😉 🙂

I’ve always felt that when someone claims the title of Teacher, it implies they’ve completely moved beyond the grind of worldly necessities. Someone at that level should be able to live comfortably off the generosity or donations of students and those who truly value their work. At the end of the day, the Universe provides for all of us, and if you actually have the ability to guide others, you can trust you'll never go hungry. 😉 Honestly, the idea of Jesus or Buddha hosting paid seminars with set tuition rates—where you can only access the wisdom if you have the cash to cover it—just strikes me as absurd. 😛 On the flip side, anyone who treats "spirituality" as a career path or tries to "make a living from the divine" isn't really worthy of being called a Teacher. They’re essentially selling knowledge that was either passed down to them or gifted for free, which makes them more of a spiritual freelancer or craftsman. There's nothing wrong with that, provided it brings them fulfillment. Just like being a writer, a firefighter, or a doctor, there’s nothing wrong with people paying to learn a skill, whether it's spiritual insight or a foreign language class. Not everything sold is high quality—even "spiritual" products—but everything has its market. 😉 As long as there's a demand for people to buy spirituality, there will always be people selling it.

So, I just had to share this with you guys:
12,000 people, massive fire pits, flamethrowers, fireworks, a mobile stage, flaming arrows flying through the air, explosions, and of course, Rammstein - Enter Sandman.
It was an absolutely insane experience. My right ear is ringing a bit now—the speakers were louder than an Apple store🙂—but man, it was worth it... I don't think I'll ever forget this!!!!!!! Two hours of pure madness + Evanescence opening for 45 minutes.
Their final words before they walked off the stage:

THANK YOU SO MUCH, NEW YORK CITY!

There’s a massive difference between being aggressive and being persistent. If you rely on pure aggression, you aren't actually gaining anything—you're just setting yourself up for failure.

I’m right there with you. But think about this: what happens when the thoughts aren't there? When everything finally goes quiet and settles down? Where do all those "expressive forms" actually go?

So many different forces shape our lives.

First off, you’ve got parents. They brought us into this world, and they're usually there trying to steer us toward the "right" path—often by constantly worrying we'll mess things up or turn out to be bad people. A huge part of who we become depends on that early dynamic between parents and children. Eventually, though, kids start searching for their own identity and carving out a life that might look nothing like what their parents envisioned. At the end of the day, they were the primary architects of our early years.

There’s still plenty more to account for, but honestly, most of it comes down to personal character. If you actually figure out what you want out of life, you can really start making progress. It all depends on whether you’ve truly grasped the balance between the good and bad sides of existence.

You’ll get what you want if you stay persistent and fight for the rights and goals you believe in. You only get one shot at this life; you are who you are, under one name and one identity, doing what you feel is right while staying cautious. Parents are there to offer advice, but it's up to you as an individual to decide whether to follow it or not—that's how you build your own character. Never let others pressure you into being someone else. Though, from what I see, that kind of external pressure is becoming more common as more people try to dictate how others should live.

Karen Sanchez19 said:The concept and its linguistic label are nothing more than mental constructs.

So, forget about concepts or labels—there isn't even really such a thing as a "thought." What actually exists is pure, absolute consciousness, which sits far beyond any logic, reasoning, or dualistic contradictions!

If what you're saying were true, it would imply that reaching nirvikalpa samadhi is actually impossible. Sure, everything is in the Self, but the Self isn't contained in anything else. You really ought to look into Parsifal's teachings on the ONE.
