goldenowl73 said:So, I’ve got it installed and it’s actually performing pretty well. It tells me it's hitting 3000. My AMD Barton 2500 is overclocked and running at 2200MHz with a 1.650v voltage. When the case is closed and the system is idling, the CPU core sits between 39°C and 42°C. When I'm decoding a movie and the CPU is pinned at 100%, it hits about 61°C, but nothing higher than that.

I think that's a solid result. I should be getting my 2x512 DDR 400 Kingston memory in today, so we'll see how much better it performs compared to this random 2x256 333 no-name kit I'm using now. Right now, the FSB is just sitting at 170.

🤔 🤔 Hold on a second—it's running at 2200 with a 170 FSB? Did you set the multiplier to 13?
Living with Rheumatoid Arthritis in Health ·
My mom works at a preschool, and she mentioned that one of the three-year-olds there has rheumatoid arthritis—I'm not even 100% sure if it was one of her coworkers' kids. From what I recall, they’re getting treatment out in Washington, D.C. If you want, I can grab her number so you can reach out to the lady directly.

Tanning bed goggles in Health ·
Hey everyone!

Since tanning season is officially here, I’ve been wondering about those tanning goggles.
The staff at my local salon actually told me I shouldn't bother wearing them because they'd just leave white rings around my eyes.
How much protection do these things actually provide? (It seems like half the girls there don't even use them.)
Has anyone else dealt with eye issues or irritation from tanning beds?

Thanks in advance!

Since I've had a chance to see it firsthand, I definitely have a specific take on it—not necessarily good or bad, just my perspective. So, what’s the name of this product or company?

Check out the thread about "power lines and substations" and give all the posts a thorough read.

Alright, looks like I haven't gotten any replies regarding my "growth" 🙂 yet, so I'm moving on to the next thing (I haven't caught up on every single thread, so apologies if this has already been asked): are tanning products actually harmful? - side note, when I was just a little kid, I once slathered some on before bed and forgot to wash my hands... by morning, my palms looked like I’d spent all day peeling carrots and potatoes for a massive army. Honestly, talk about an accidental DIY peel...

I'm curious about what this actually is—what kind of product we're talking about, how it works, and why on earth it costs $2,200? [/B]

If you’re genuinely interested, we’d need to set aside about an hour and a half. I can come right to your place to walk you through the specific issues, run some detectors to map out your sleeping area, and then we can dive into potential solutions. Just shoot me an email if you want to chat.

It’s common knowledge that allergies aren't actually caused by dust mites, but rather by the overly sterile environments we live in nowadays (though I know that's getting off-topic).
[/B]

That said, it's also a fact that high humidity and dust mites definitely trigger allergy flare-ups and respiratory issues.

I went to that super weak one three times this winter—just five minutes each session—and every single time I ended up with an allergic reaction. After the third time, I took a look at that little sticker on the machine, the one that looks like a vintage car decal listing years like "19xx, 2000, 2001, 2002..." and still nothing! Seriously... damn! That thing is ancient! And the real issue is... (honestly, I don't even know when this started. Was it gradual or did it just pop up out of nowhere? It’s stupid that I can’t tell, but I guess I'm just totally overwhelmed right now...) I noticed a new tiny, smallish mole—it has a darker speck in the middle near the edge of my nipple... yeah, moles!!! Is this dangerous? I'm only 20... oh my god, oh my god...
I really shouldn't have gone... I usually can't stand these kinds of gimmicks. I didn't go there to get a tan or anything, it was more like... well, I know plenty of people who went specifically because of allergies and complained about their skin feeling "kind of toughened up"... damn. I always try to be so careful.

So?

Eurovision 2004 - Song List in Music ·
Yeah... honestly, that Mikulic track is a total rip-off. Half the song is just stolen—the rhythm, the backing track, even the main melody... it's a joke. It's a good thing someone like Riah didn't cover it first 😁
It’s actually by some German artist... ENGEL

OB/GYN Discussion Thread in Women's Health ·
I totally agree that private gynecologists can be amazing—they’re often super attentive and provide such great care. But just think about the "what if" scenarios. What if things don't go perfectly? Like, imagine you get a Pap smear result that comes back completely messed up, or you're dealing with a persistent infection you just can't shake, or heaven forbid, you catch an STD. Or even just standard stuff like PCOS and all those other hormonal headaches. If you have to keep going back for follow-ups and specialized testing, the costs add up fast. Honestly, at that rate, you might as well just take out a personal loan just to cover your doctor visits!

Anyway... I’m heading over to Dr. Franklin’s office now. Honestly, his practice isn't exactly high-end or anything, but the guy actually listens to me. He doesn't try to play games or talk down to me, and he'll whip up whatever prescription I need. That said, if I ever need actual medical advice for serious issues, I’ll probably check with someone else—so far, he hasn't really been able to help me solve any major problems.

Honestly, my absolute favorite moment was back when I had some kind of fungal infection and things just spiraled out of control. It eventually turned into a CIN I diagnosis, and finally, after all that stress, I got to see the doctor. He took one look at my results, said "Okay," and handed me a slip to take to the nurse. I told him, "I can just check with the doctor here." Then I actually looked down at the paperwork and saw "CIN I" staring back at me. I swear, I just thought, "Holy crap, there is no way I am driving home without a massive pile of gynecologists to visit first."
He just gave me this totally confused look, then typed out a bunch of stuff to me, and... yeah, okay.

That’s just how it is for me with my doctor... I’d love to go to a private practice so badly, but I just don't have that kind of money.
Kill Bill Vol. 1 in Movies ·
I've already seen both Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2, and honestly, I can tell you the movie is absolutely perfect. In fact, I’d go as far as saying Vol 2 is actually better than Vol 1, and I know plenty of other people who have seen it feel the exact same way.🙂

b0rG said:Did you miss my previous post? Just loosen up all the memory timings first, and then try bumping up the frequency.😉

I actually tried that about 11 months ago right when I bought it, not just now. Even when I attempted that, the "auto" setting forced the CL to 3.0, which is totally unacceptable—especially at a 215 FSB. So, to play it safe, I’m sticking with 200x11.😁 🙂

If you're hitting those kinds of numbers with just 2.5... man, keep pushing it! That's seriously impressive.
Or am I totally off base here!?

Nah, I've got DDR400. Moving it up to 420 isn't really breaking any records.😢

Yeah... I actually just started hitting the gym lately too. Honestly, it’s been a lifesaver for dealing with stress, frustration, and all the other bullshit life throws at you... The only thing that gets to me is when I can't even focus on my workout because there are so many damn distractions everywhere
😲 (women, obviously).... but hey, I guess it's just free motivation 👍

Man, if only I could have a little fun... mmmmmmmmmmm 😁 😲
Muscle soreness help? in Health ·
1. Your pillow: If you aren't sleeping in the right position, you’re doing more than just messing up your spine. You're actually triggering muscle spasms in your shoulders and neck. This cuts off blood flow to the brain, which is why you end up dealing with those nagging headaches, blurry vision, dizziness, or that weird feeling like you can't keep your balance.
2. Your mattress: Foam mattresses act like sponges—they trap moisture, get cold and damp, and become a breeding ground for dust mites. Then you've got spring mattresses; those metal coils can actually pick up ambient electricity from the environment, which messes with your nervous system and keeps your brain's "alarm system" on high alert while you're trying to rest. Plus, they lose their support fast, leaving you with constant back pain.
3. Non-ionizing radiation: Everything from electrical currents and wiring to radio waves and natural radiation creates a stressful environment for your body. This is the exact time when your system should be recharging and boosting your immune system.

Think about it: we spend about 8 hours every single night sleeping—that's over 25 years of our lives spent in bed.
As daily stressors continue to climb—whether it's shifting temperatures, humidity, or the massive increase in tech-related radiation—having those stressors follow you into your sleep leads to disruptions that eventually turn into serious, long-term health issues.
Back, neck, and joint pain... help! in Health ·
Pain is usually the first red flag that something is off. It’s especially telling if you wake up hurting. Think about it: you spend an average of eight hours sleeping, which is when your body is supposed to unwind, recover, and gear up for the next day. If that process fails, you feel it! That pain is an alarm bell. It means your bed setup isn't doing its job. Your pillow, your mattress, even the air quality in your room—all of these things impact you. Even though those eight hours fly by, you’re going to spend over 25 years of your life in bed! Why does it matter so much? Because sleep is a fundamental biological necessity for recovery and managing daily stress. A bad mattress, a poor pillow, or even environmental factors can prevent your body from performing its vital functions, making health issues almost inevitable. Unfortunately, most people find it easier to just pop a pill rather than actually fixing the root cause.
Dealing with static electricity shocks? in Health ·
Since the dawn of humanity, we lived in direct contact with the earth, which kept our bodies naturally grounded. But as modern life took over, that connection started to fade. Nowadays, we’re walking around in synthetic-soled shoes and living in high-rise apartments, effectively insulating ourselves from the ground. The real kicker is that while we’re losing that grounding, we’re simultaneously being blasted with much higher levels of radiation and static electricity all day long. Because that charge has nowhere to go—it can't discharge into the earth—it just builds up inside us, triggering all sorts of health issues.
Static electricity speeds up calcium metabolism, which leads to faster fatigue. It also depletes your Vitamin C, causing blood sugar spikes that leave you feeling even more drained. This imbalance is one of the culprits behind autonomic nervous system issues. Plus, when that built-up charge in your clothes discharges against your skin, it can cause irritation like dermatitis. On top of that, accumulated static acts like a magnet for dirt, germs, and bacteria, leading to unpleasant body odors or further skin problems.
It also messes with your digestive enzymes.
It interferes with how your body absorbs vitamins and minerals into your bloodstream.
And it disrupts electrical activity at the cellular level, causing protein plasma to build up around cells, which results in that classic feeling of exhaustion and low energy.

What about socks? Most of them are made of synthetics that basically act as batteries, soaking up and building up static through simple friction. Are you guys wearing them?
Headache help! in Health ·
Arthur Barnes said:How do I get rid of this crappy "illness"?

It’s not like my tooth hurts, so I don't go to the dentist. It’s not like my stomach hurts, so I don't eat something or take a pill. It's my head.

I was pretty dehydrated today. Had school this morning and then two hours of gym class at the end. We totally went hard in gym... we played 6 on 6 then switched to 3 on 3. Running, falling, sweating... ouch.

And then there's me, being "smart," hitting the bathroom for water every 30 minutes. Thought I wouldn't get dehydrated if I did that. Then, thinking I'm so clever, I bought some thick juice with multivitamins because I know the brain "runs" on glucose, so why not help it out?

And now, being "smart," I get home with a massive headache.
Any way to fix this? (Going to sleep now, but I doubt it'll just vanish)

What kind of pillow are you using? Sleeping in a bad position (like 8 hours every single day) doesn't just mess up your spine; it causes shoulder and neck muscle spasms. That leads to reduced blood flow to the brain, which results in headaches, vision issues, dizziness, and feeling off-balance.
