I mean, Halford and Manowar are definitely outliers here... they're gay.😁
driftingowl27 said:This is actually pretty interesting. Could this be the first real admission from the heavy metal community that the genre is just as much about being queer as disco is?
Don't worry, there aren't any bigots hanging out in here... 😎

nah, actually quite the opposite..... 🙂
driftingowl27 said:I once had this huge black metal fan proudly confessing how he used to peep through the keyhole while his mom was showering.🙄
That same guy basically lives in his elementary school bubble, acting like some kind of enlightened guru every year to recruit a fresh batch of metalheads.
In his spare time, he just sits around playing PlayStation.

Gross.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention one thing... out of everything we've discussed, the strangest occurrence might actually come from the die-hard death metal fans, specifically those deep into the grindcore and goregrind scenes. 😁 😁 😁
This is honestly ridiculous. What does someone’s music taste have to do with who they're attracted to? I mean, sure, maybe there's a tiny link to orientation, but that's about it. 😁 😁 😁
Are they actually doing THAT? 😁

AWARENESS said:What do you even do when you hit that wall? You know the one—where life suddenly feels like a massive crossroads and you have absolutely no clue which direction to take. I’m looking for some real advice here. Should I just trust my gut and rely on myself? Or should I lean on some deep philosophy, look to Quincy, or maybe just leave it all up to fate and see where the wind blows? Is there such a thing as actually choosing our own path, or is everything already written in some cosmic script somewhere in the past? Honestly, sometimes it feels less like reality and more like a fever dream. I also see people who pin all their hopes on faith, only to end up completely wrecked when things don't pan out. It makes me wonder: do we actually have control, or are we just along for the ride?

If you lean too hard on anything outside of yourself, that’s exactly when you’re going to hit the ground.

First things first, you’ve got to find that inner strength within yourself.
And then, the choice is yours...

Then you just surrender to "fate." Let it carry you through the air, give yourself permission to fly—but for heaven's sake, don't forget to keep an eye on your navigation.

Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Hey everyone! So, Nathan Collins2 already weighed in on the question about ovarian cysts, and she basically echoed exactly what my doctor told me and what I've read in medical books.
Apparently, these cysts tend to pop up around your early 20s and can actually disappear after pregnancy.
It’s nothing to panic about, really. You might not even feel a cyst until it twists. And if it does twist? Oh man, I can't even begin to describe how much pain that causes...
So many women have them and don't even realize it.

I actually went in for an exam because of some pain during intercourse, and that's when the doctor caught my first cyst on the ultrasound.
Again, it's not a huge deal, you just have to keep an eye on it since complications or hormonal issues can sometimes crop up. (That rarely happens, according to my doctor—though maybe he's just trying not to scare me!
😁 )
If you just go in for a checkup once or twice a year, you should be totally fine.🙂
Honestly, Western medicine hasn't been much help for me in certain situations either. You just have to realize that it simply isn't designed to cure everything. Instead of getting angry about it, it’s better to just look into other methods.

Yeah, if you live in America...

From what I understand, in most of Western Europe, "alternative" treatments are actually recognized, covered by social health insurance, and used way more frequently.

Here, it feels like a witch hunt whenever someone mentions alternatives. Allopathic medicine and Big Pharma use every tool at their disposal to crush any kind of competition. 😢 😠
Lately, as I’ve been keeping up with current global events and digging into the history behind them, I can't shake this growing feeling that modern medicine is losing its way. It feels like we're drifting further and further away from nature, true human connection, and genuine wellness. Instead, everything seems to be pivoting toward chemical interventions, corporate profit margins, and heavy-handed propaganda.

When I read in JAMA that iatrogenic death is the third (!) leading cause of death in the USA, or see reports in BMJ claiming the pharmaceutical industry invents diseases just to pad their profit margins, I start to think this isn't just about gut feelings anymore.

👍

Spot on.

Unfortunately, the USA is heading down that same path. 😢

You know, there are actually other types of practitioners in the USA, like Naturopathic Doctors (NDs). It might be worth considering them as a potential counterbalance to the highly profitable allopathic medicine industry.

Does anyone from the USA know more about this?

Where exactly is she feeling it?

What kind of pain is it? When does it happen, and what other symptoms are you seeing?

Some people get these weird, fluttering sensations around their heart from time to time, but it doesn't actually turn out to be any specific illness or disorder... still, if that pain sticks around, they really need to see a cardiologist or at least their primary care doctor.

If there’s even a hint of heart or brain issues, you can't afford to wait around.
Does anyone actually know what the term "iatrogenic" means?

Just a quick correction—the proper way to say it in American English is iatrogenic!

Iatrogenic diseases, iatrogenic causes, and so on...

(I've got a feeling I'm going to get ignored again just like my last post about the British Medical Journal...)

People are ignoring you because you're pasting massive walls of text; it's just too much to digest at once.

That said, this is a great topic, but you really need a different, SIMPLER approach. 😉

Maybe try something like:
What are your thoughts on iatrogenic diseases?
Are they an inevitable part of healthcare, or do they happen because of physician negligence?
Is modern medicine actually effective?

And stuff like that...

My situation is a little bit different...
I was on Cilest for over two years, and then I started dealing with water retention.
Now I have to wait until September, and after my check-up, my doctor will decide if I should start back on birth control pills or not.
Honestly, I was really happy with them.
Mikilegendocare said:Then there's the other side of the coin: most actors eventually build up this massive emotional toolkit over the years. It gets to the point where they don't even have to try anymore; they just pull from that same reservoir of emotions or play different versions of the exact same thing, sometimes even pushing it way too far ("Analyze this").

Exactly. In the last few movies I've watched, Robert De Niro always has the same facial expressions, the same mannerisms, and the same acting style. It’s become repetitive and honestly pretty unappealing, no matter how hard he tries to act like someone else.
