gentlecyclist16 said:That one over at https://www.techradar.com/reviews/laptop-deals-56gb-w10/82705... I have my doubts about that N4200 processor... it’s one of those units with passive cooling, which usually means you get longer battery life at the direct expense of actual speed. If it were me, I’d rather sacrifice 4GB of RAM just to snag a decent i3—not that an i3 is some powerhouse, let’s be honest, but you get what you pay for...

Maybe consider this one... you might even score a little discrete graphics card as a bonus

Thanks, this one seems like the most well-rounded option out of everything mentioned. Honestly, I don't know the first thing about processors, so I'm terrified of making the wrong call if I buy something on my own 😁

Thanks, Grace Edwards!
Unfortunately, this premium model is way out of my budget, though I am definitely keeping the more affordable one on my radar...
I’ve managed to dig up a few other options that check almost every single one of my boxes—everything except for a USB-C port—and they aren't breaking the bank either, such as this one:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/laptop-deals

Then there is this particular unit, which offers Full HD resolution and actually includes a USB-C port:

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/laptop/deals

But honestly, looking at the whole picture, I haven't the slightest clue which of these would actually be the superior choice overall...🤔

Hey everyone, I could really use some guidance here; I’m looking to pick up a laptop with a budget of no more than $1400.
My requirements are pretty specific:
Windows 10
An SSD
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
USB 3.0, though having a USB-C port would be ideal
A webcam
Full HD resolution—assuming that’s even possible at this price point, otherwise just whatever the best option available is
A microphone
Stereo speakers
A standard US keyboard layout

The machine needs to be fast and reliable enough to handle everyday tasks without any hiccups... things like streaming movies, listening to music, browsing the web, or handling work via Microsoft Office.

I don't have any need for high-end graphics, and the physical size of the laptop isn't particularly important to me.
I plan on buying this in Washington, D.C., and honestly, I don't care which retailer I use. As for the warranty, I’m just looking for the standard coverage; I’m not hunting for anything out of the ordinary.
There are so many options flooding the market right now, and I find myself struggling to sift through the endless sea of similar models to find the absolute best value... so I'm turning to you all for help.
Thanks! 🙂

I ended up retreating home just to lie down... there was a period where I felt like a total slave to my own cycle.😂 It dictated my entire life, deciding what I could do and where I could go. Even now, those anxieties linger, even though I haven't had an accident like that in ages...🙄

That’s exactly why I brought up Ketoral. I make sure to take it about 40 minutes before I head into the office, and for the next six or seven hours, things stay under control. It usually holds steady long enough to get me through the commute. The second the Ketoral wears off, the floodgates open again, but I generally try to tough it out until bedtime when I can take another dose (which finally gives me some peace overnight)... In short, I scrape through those two days purely thanks to Ketoral.
Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
David Mendoza97 As specified by Laura Roberts3...
It just dawned on me the other day that I’ve been dealing with my period for twenty years now... It all started back in January when things were relatively light, and I can't help but wonder if this shift is simply tied to the passing of time... 🤷

Honestly, I have no idea how to express how much I envy you. My entire life has been defined by heavy flows, and I’ve spent every single month just waiting for my luck to turn and for something like what happened to you to finally occur... but it seems that kind of good fortune simply isn't in the cards for me...
When I say my flow is heavy, I am talking about those specific moments where my pad feels completely saturated within a single minute of simply standing up from a chair or getting out of bed; it’s just these sudden, overwhelming bursts... I have undergone various medical screenings and tests, yet everything comes back perfectly normal, which leaves me in that frustratingly small percentage of women for whom every single period is an absolute nightmare. My cycles are remarkably regular and predictable—for years they arrived like clockwork on day 28, though lately, they’ve shifted to day 26. They typically last five or six days. The first day involves very light bleeding without any clotting, accompanied by significant pain. Then, on the second and third days, it becomes a total deluge... only for things to finally settle back to a manageable level on the fourth and fifth days before it all ends.
Since I’ve already learned how to live with this reality, I suppose I can offer a few pointers for all you fellow sufferers out there...
I have never once touched a tampon in my life; I was always told to steer clear of them if I had any predisposition toward infections—which, let’s be honest, I certainly did—so I stuck to the good old-fashioned pads, and, to paraphrase one of the previous posts... If you’re looking to pull off that classic Donald Duck fashion aesthetic, you have to realize it isn't just about wearing blue sailor clothes... it's about capturing that specific, somewhat chaotic energy that defines the character. To truly nail the look, you need to focus on the silhouette—clean lines, perhaps a bit of a nautical flair, but with enough structural weight to make it feel intentional rather than like a costume from a bargain bin at Target. It requires a certain level of confidence to carry off such a bold, monochromatic statement without looking like you're heading to a themed birthday party... though, if you do it right, it becomes a genuine style choice... 😉.
When we sit down to truly dissect the art of acting, specifically regarding those roles that define a career through sheer, unadulterated grit, one has to wonder where the bar is actually set... It isn't just about memorizing lines or looking the part, but rather that visceral, unsettling ability to inhabit a character so completely that the audience forgets they are watching a performance altogether... I’ve been reflecting on this lately, thinking about the most profound performances in American cinema history, and it strikes me how rare that level of commitment really is... I’ve been looking into the Carefree Ultra 10 Super Plus lately, and frankly, I find myself questioning whether the marketing actually aligns with the practical reality of using them... It seems like one of those products where the branding promises a level of reliability that might not always hold up under pressure, especially when you're relying on them during a long day at the office or while traveling through cities like Chicago or New York... There is a certain expectation of security with the "Super Plus" designation, yet I often wonder if the absorbency is truly optimized for what they claim, or if we are all just paying a premium for the packaging and the name... It makes me curious how others have found the performance compared to other major American brands available at places like Target or CVS... They aren't bulky, but their absorbency is honestly staggering... I end up burning through three entire packs every single cycle. I’m actually starting to seriously consider just switching over to diapers at this point. Honestly...
I’ve been taking Ketoral Forte for the second and third day now to help manage the bleeding, and I have to say, the results are quite significant. My routine is pretty specific—I take one dose first thing in the morning right when I wake up, and then another in the evening before heading to bed. It has been an absolute lifesaver... if you happen to be dealing with heavy bleeding, I would strongly suggest trying Ketoral, even if you aren't experiencing any actual pain. I can personally guarantee that it makes a difference...
I would strongly advise against taking birth control pills unless it is absolutely necessary... I was first prescribed them back in high school just to regulate my cycle, but the moment I stopped, everything reverted right back to how it always was. Besides, I could never handle them properly—they left me feeling incredibly depressed...
Please, refrain from unnecessarily medicating yourself with hormones or opting for hormonal IUDs unless there is an absolute medical necessity... instead, try to support your body through disciplined nutrition and consistent physical activity. I suggest taking 500mg of Vitamin C daily, and it certainly isn't a bad idea to supplement with magnesium, calcium, and zinc if you find yourself under significant stress or feeling like your overall systemic health is slipping... If you stay the course, you should begin to notice a tangible improvement within two to three months...
And if it offers any small measure of solace—however uncomfortable the reality might be—please understand that those heavy periods, the intense cramping, and even the passing of clots or tissue aren't things you have to endure in isolation... they aren't unique to your experience, nor do they necessarily signal that something is fundamentally broken or diseased within you. Of course, maintaining regular check-ups with your gynecologist is absolutely non-negotiable, but knowing you aren't an anomaly in this regard can sometimes make the burden feel just a little less heavy...

As for understanding actual capacity, I fear that particular concept might be a bit too advanced for those gray cells of yours to grasp... And regarding your dignity, you might want to hold onto it a little tighter...

Brenda Carter96 said:Let’s be honest, this topic is being unfairly targeted. Instead of everyone acting like they have no desires, we should just get on with it. Some even prefer doing it on the table. 😲

That is a rather pathetic attempt to justify your incompetent sub-moderators, if not yourselves... You could certainly do much better than that, Castro...

Am I? If I ever mentioned them, that’s my business, not yours to regulate... Your freedom doesn't grant you authority over mine... You simply have no right... I am telling you now, do not even think about bringing my personal information into this conversation, under any circumstances whatsoever... nor should you attempt to project your own deep-seated insecurities onto me by playing at being some sort of "authority figure" while you spend your time chasing chickens around the coop; frankly, I find the whole display utterly unimpressive. As for the concept of a competent moderator, it is clearly a standard that none of you are even remotely capable of reaching...

The way this thread was framed has steered the entire conversation exactly where I knew it would end up...

The way this entire topic has unfolded, truly, is all thanks to you... It’s just treated that way... From the very beginning, this individual has been nothing short of primitive and utterly disrespectful. If you lack the basic decency to admit to that fact, then you can expect to find yourselves—complete with copies of every single one of these posts and a full record of your conduct—facing a formal grievance regarding the culture of this forum right on the owner's desk. The choice is yours...

Not Kokosinjac. This is strictly my own topic...

Well, why don't you just go ahead and start a proper thread over in the Psychology section...

I appreciate the constructive suggestion, but this isn't about some rigid sense of principle on my part. My issue isn't with the act of opening a thread itself, but rather with a specific error made by the moderation team that needs to be rectified. Is that truly such an insurmountable issue, or have a few certain moderators simply convinced themselves they’re sitting up on Olympus...🙄

Because that really is an interesting question...

It’s a fascinating question, I’ll give you that. But honestly, it isn’t my burden to shoulder when someone possesses a mind far too primitive to grasp the complexities of such a matter...

Anyone who starts a thread—whether it makes sense or not—is essentially inviting the "danger" of being mocked or ridiculed by others.

I highly doubt the mods are going to issue any apologies for their actions, nor will anyone be trolling your thread over on the psychology board.
Just think of this forum as a playground; if you do, you won't feel the need to write these massive manifestos about moderation issues and the perceived injustices being dealt to you.

Besides, in the real world, there's that old saying about following orders from your boss, and you can pretty much expect the same dynamic here...

Dear cosmicskipper39,

thank you for the unsolicited advice... 🙂 Rest assured, I am perfectly aware of what this forum is and what it isn't— it isn't some lawless wasteland where moderators can just act out against female users at will. Or, to put it more bluntly, if you (or anyone else) choose to tolerate that kind of behavior, that's your prerogative, but I certainly won't. Whether they decide to apologize and attempt a constructive resolution to fix their mistakes remains to be seen, as they are clearly in the wrong, but I will absolutely take further action if they do not make things right.

Srdacan regards,

The fact that this conversation is being forced into a new thread through the senseless closing of the previous one is clearly not going to silence me—heaven forbid—because the core issue remains unresolved, and it will stay that way as long as it continues to be ignored. Just because you can’t delete my user account doesn't mean the matter is settled, despite what Mr. Nex seems to believe... Mr. Nex, might I ask if your actual profession is a locksmith? Because the purpose of moderation isn't to lock down a thread just so it "doesn't turn into a kokošinjac," but rather to manage the discussion and penalize those who attempt to turn it into one. I assume you aren't some kindergarten teacher deciding whether or not I've said enough in my posts. Nor am I your punching bag for frustrations, your plaything, or some little chick from the kokošinjac... It appears that you, much like a handful of your close moderator colleagues, have forgotten the fundamental reality that I am not here for your benefit, but rather you are here for mine; I am the client, you are the service provider, and your job is to ensure client satisfaction, is it not? 🙂

And at this moment, I am quite dissatisfied, given that by swiftly shuttering the previous thread and ignoring my explicit request to reopen it, you have effectively coerced me into starting this new topic—which, let’s be honest, was entirely unnecessary. But since we are here, let us begin anew;

The conduct of the moderation team on the Women's Corner is, to put it mildly, unacceptable. Despite being a long-standing member of this community, I have never encountered such behavior, nor do I intend to tolerate it moving forward. A few days ago, I initiated a potentially compelling discussion on the Women's Corner regarding the very existence of gender-segregated sections, with the intent of sparking a broader, more serious debate about gender dynamics and primary discrimination. From my opening post, it is perfectly evident that;

- I did not insult anyone
- I did not violate any forum rules
- and any intelligent participant would likely understand that it was never my intention to dismantle the forum's social order, even if that order itself is highly debatable as it stands.

Following the launch of the topic, I experienced technical issues with your server (as I noted in one of my posts), which prevented me from immediately engaging in the "debate" that, aside from a few infantile provocations, had barely even begun. In the meantime, without a single word of explanation from the moderators, my topic was moved to "kokošinjac" with the clear intent of reducing it to mindless babbling—presumably because certain amateurish moderators failed to grasp the point of the topic, which, I must reiterate, was NOT to abolish gendered spaces. (And even if it were, I fail to see why that would be an issue, other than perhaps bruising the egos of those who rely on the moderator's stick to maintain control).
Naturally, after that, the "party" began, where a frenzied mob—bolstered by enthusiastic moderator approval—attacked and insulted me using every means at their disposal, while completely trolling the thread.
After I, having no real hope of defending myself against such a hysterical crowd and receiving no response from the moderation to my public inquiry as to why the thread was relegated to the kokošinjac, finally returned an insult to one (1) forum member, I AM the one receiving a warning??!! issued by that very same moderation team, which did everything in its power to allow everyone to "caste" me with their vast arsenal of vitriol, a situation that continued well beyond my further participation.
In short: I simply opened a discussion that, with the blessing of the moderators, devolved into exactly what it became—uncultured, primitive, and outright rude behavior.

It is made all the more egregious by the fact that one of the moderators, redmarlin3, took the liberty of publicly disclosing my personal information by stating my age in a post. First of all, my age is private data, and without my express permission, the moderation of this forum has no right to disclose anything regarding my real life—including my age, which is entirely irrelevant to this forum or this specific topic, whether I am twenty-one or fifty-one; that is my business. However, perhaps you require a reminder of your own rules:

On this platform, you define your own level of anonymity. The site administration guarantees that all data you choose not to disclose will be kept strictly confidential. The sole exception would be a legal mandate, such as a police warrant or a court order, which compels us to provide a user's IP address during an active investigation.

It’s a shame, really. This used to be a high-quality forum... But since you seem incapable of addressing my previous request, I am certain you can manage to fulfill the following requirements instead;

- that the Women's Corner moderation team offers me a public apology for undermining my threads and inciting other users to engage in trolling, mockery, and insults.

- that I receive a specific apology from that chicken-brained redmarlin3, who was largely responsible for the "unhinged chaos" currently unfolding here.

- that my thread over on Kokosinjac be purged of all this mindless clucking and moved to the Psychology section, where I intend to develop it into a coherent discussion.

There. I trust my demands aren't excessive, considering the mistakes you've made and your utterly biased, unprofessional conduct, for which there was clearly no legitimate reason. Of course, it is your prerogative to ignore my concerns or continue moving and locking my threads, but please bear in mind that I have archived everything... and if necessary, I will be forced to take this directly to the owner of the parent network, or more precisely, the Editor-in-Chief.
I am hoping for a constructive resolution, and therefore, Mr. Nex, if you find yourself struck by that uncontrollable urge to lock a thread again, I suggest you exercise some restraint and leave the matter to a higher authority...

I am requesting this, if at all possible, because your conduct—or more accurately, the conduct of the moderation team over at the Women's Corner—is, to put it mildly, unacceptable. Despite being a member of this Forum for quite some time, I have never encountered anything remotely like this, nor do I intend to ever experience it again. A few days ago, I launched what I believed to be a potentially engaging discussion within the Women's Corner regarding the very existence of gender-segregated sections, with the hope of fostering a broader, more serious dialogue concerning gender ratios and, primarily, discrimination. It was perfectly evident from my opening post that;

- I was not insulting anyone;
- I was not violating any of the site's rules;
- and it should be obvious to any intelligent participant that it was never my intention to destabilize the Forum's existing social order, even if that order is, in many respects, highly debatable.

Following the launch of the thread, I experienced technical issues with your server (which I noted in one of my posts), preventing me from immediately engaging in the "debate" which, aside from a handful of infantile provocations, had barely truly begun. In the meantime, without any explanation whatsoever from the moderation team, my topic was moved to "Poppy" with the clear intent of turning it into nothing more than incoherent squawking... presumably because certain amateurish moderators failed to grasp—and, worse, simply refused to understand—the actual point of the thread, which, I repeat, was NOT to abolish gender-segregated spaces. (And even if it were, I fail to see why that would be an issue, other than perhaps inconveniencing a few ego trips that would then find themselves without a moderator's baton to wave about).
Naturally, this triggered a "party" where an incensed mob—with enthusiastic approval from the moderators—began attacking and insulting me using every tool at their disposal, while completely trolling the thread.
After I found myself unable to defend against such a hysterical crowd, and having received absolutely no response from the moderation team to my publicly posted question—why was the thread moved to Poppy?—the moment I finally retaliated against a single user with a similar insult, I was the one receiving a warning??!! From the very same moderation team that did everything in its power to allow everyone else to "discipline" me with their vast arsenal of vitriol, a process that continued even after I ceased participating.
To summarize: I merely opened a discussion that, with the blessing of the moderators, devolved into exactly what it became—an uncivilized, primitive, and downright rude spectacle.

This is made all the more egregious by the fact that one of the moderators, Herb, saw fit to publicly disclose my personal information by stating my age in a post. First of all, my age is private data, and without my express permission, the moderation of this Forum has no right to disclose anything pertaining to my real life, let alone my age, which is entirely irrelevant to this Forum or the topic at hand; whether I am nineteen or fifty-one is my own business. However, perhaps you require a reminder of your own regulations:

You define your own level of anonymity on this Forum. The Forum editorial staff commits to keeping all your data private unless you choose otherwise. The sole exception is a police or court order, under which we are legally obligated to provide the IP address of a user currently under investigation.

It is a shame. This used to be a decent Forum.

In light of everything mentioned, I no longer wish to be an active or passive member of this Forum (or more accurately, what little remains of it), and I request that you delete my user account.

Thank you.

@ little devil

And now I’m noticing that you’re also the one driving these entire discussion threads...

Well, since you claim to have studied psychology, you supposedly have all the answers, so let me offer a brief paradigm shift for you;

The fact that we think something is doesn't necessarily mean it is the truth. Based on what you've written here, I would venture to say you actually possess some rather distorted intra- and inter-personal intelligence. Which specific assessments did you actually take?

In any case, I strongly suggest you go see a professional psychologist...

I just can't wrap my head around someone calling something as vital as emotional intelligence "manipulative"...
It’s honestly pretty ignorant and, frankly, not very bright...

If you were truly the star pupil of your psychology program, then you likely learned that the term "emotional intelligence" is essentially just a rebranding of social intelligence.

Social intelligence has been a defined concept since the 1920s, and just a few years later, people began discussing its "emotional" aspects as a subset of social interaction. Then, in 1995, the charlatan Daniel Goleman released his "blockbuster" book "Emotional Intelligence," which became a massive hit among the general public, even though it faced (entirely justified) backlash within academic circles because Goleman didn't actually uncover anything groundbreaking.

It sounds like you might have been out sick during those lectures. 😉
