urbanhawk17 said:So, a little while back, he and his wife—if I'm remembering correctly, it was his wife or maybe a family member—went on some trip, and the whole thing was footed by taxpayer money. It was a private vacation, obviously.

You won't find that reported anywhere, of course. Someone posted it on Facebook; just some random person who happens to know his wife.

But yeah, it's all just a Potemkin village...

I mean, I don't follow him that closely, but I tend to trust my better half more. ☕

The guy operates exactly like Bandić did. You've got the holiday festivals in Indianapolis, then you've got ice skating festivals, and so on. It's just a copy-paste job.

He talks a good game, though. Transparency and all that. 😁

Let me guess, you actually know which username is being used here? ☕ 😁

How exactly are Rom people supposed to navigate the school system when they’re stuck footing the bill for textbooks and grinding through twelve years of schooling just for $0.00 to end up with a degree that probably won't mean squat on the job market?

The reality is that many Rom live in such terrible conditions that being uneducated or turning to crime feels less like an excess and more like a logical survival choice. But does the government actually care to fix it? Why would they? When things inevitably go south, they can just point fingers and claim it's entirely their own fault.

Larry Fox5 said:Only people who actually own a dog can answer that question...

You aren't even getting triggered because you have a cat—for people like you, the only real debate is whether to get your own cat or just adopt someone else's kitten...

Basically, there isn't a right answer—you can't really predict how you'll act when things go south in real life... there's no time to sit around overthinking everything, so your reactions are mostly just pure instinct.

By the time I’m standing here in the middle of the fire, overthinking this whole thing, the cat has already leaped through the window, onto a branch, down the tree, and out onto the street, perfectly safe. ☕

If the fire is in a restaurant, I'm grabbing the dog. Because honestly, who even knows if the dog was in the restaurant to begin with? ☕

Honestly, the absolute worst part of hiking is when you finally reach some mountain lodge. You’ve spent the entire climb basically dying, you finally collapse onto a bench just to catch your breath, and then—out of nowhere—some hyperactive little pup comes charging in. It starts wagging its tail, running in circles, and just aggressively flaunting its endless energy right in your face. Such an arrogant little brat. ☕

those baggy 🤦

they say bell-bottoms... Byron wears bell-bottoms just like Paul Breitner ☕

actually, he basically flew straight into the dog's airspace wearing those things 😂

🤣 🤣

ZZ seems more interested in slapping Patrick Martin than putting a sweater on a dog.

brightpilot6 said:Byron? Not quite. Honestly, we were just walking down the street when this whole thing happened—it felt like some tacky red and white patterned quilt just got shaken out over us, and that was the extent of it. What really gets to me is that he went and smeared her brand new Fendi coat in the process; some kind of fake fur caught onto it, and now there's this lingering scent of stale air everywhere.

Later on, we headed to a restaurant for a bite to eat, but since his stomach wasn't feeling too great, he spent the whole time barking and snapping at everyone. I made sure to lodge a formal complaint with both the server and the chef, and we didn't even pay for his meal, though I'm sure they ended up getting a glowing review on TripAdvisor anyway.

🤣 🤦

rowdytinker3 said:What really struck me was that absolute frenzy they had going on in New Orleans. I mean, driving through the streets toward the stadium just to get hit with immediate chaos at the very first press conference—especially with all that underworld drama involving the local mobs—it was intense. Then you see a packed house for the team unveiling, and honestly, total madness follows him everywhere he steps in the city. It’s actually pretty terrifying when you think about it. You’d practically need to be made of steel just to keep from cracking under all that pressure. 🙏

Yeah, I used to think that whole football madness was kind of romantic, you know? A bit poetic. But honestly, after sitting through this movie, I finally realized just how absolutely insane the whole thing actually is. It’s pure chaos. Then you’ve got some kid from Argentina charging headfirst into that meat grinder, and it’s really no wonder the whole system just chewed him up and spat him out.

Frank Richardson said:So, what’s this movie actually about? Is it the full truth or just a polished version of events? And honestly, does it hold a candle to Emir Kusturica's take?

Watching an Emir Kusturica film can be a pretty uncomfortable experience. He looks at Diego Maradona with this almost religious awe, like he's looking at God, whereas this documentary just... well, it just lays it all out there. It's a completely different beast. The whole thing focuses on Diego Maradona's time in Naples, built entirely from archival footage and interviews with people who were actually in his inner circle. Personally, I thought it did a fantastic job of capturing him as a complex human being—not just that charming, self-assured kid from the favelas, but also that naive, impulsive guy who had absolutely no clue how to handle fame or the sheer madness of Naples at the time. I loved it precisely because it doesn't worship him as some divine icon, but it doesn't paint him as a total jerk either. It hits that sweet spot. Plus, it captures the vibe of that era perfectly, especially regarding the local organized crime and that specific brand of prejudice the North used to throw at Southerners.

brightpilot6 said:I actually heard from some pretty reliable sources that this isn't about anyone from Wuhan at all; it's actually a VB16 team-building retreat organized by ruggedjackal46. The masks aren't for health, they're worn out of pure shame, the yellow tint comes from everyone basically peeing themselves in fear (Justin James10, care to explain?), and those squinted eyes are just from staring intensely at first place.

The whole meeting is taking place at a cattle farm out in Korenica, situated in that area modeled after the old frontier territories, and the real goal here is simply to mend fences following all that recent drama regarding the coaching position.

Real Madrid fans have a truly unique sense of absurdity🤦

Our good friend the Greek guy, go ahead and give it your all—freeze that smirk right on their faces.☕

brightpilot6 said:Well, at this rate, any kind of banter directed at Barca fans becomes nothing short of harassment, especially when you consider that everyone else on this forum holds all the intellectual high ground compared to them.

Right, because it's just like when a tiny puppy nips at an adult's leg—that's clearly the pinnacle of physical assault, isn't it? ☕

and as a woman, she had some other guy's sperm-stained underwear and pubic hair on her the very next day.
I highly doubt anyone was raped if she was back in the mood for sex by the next morning.

Oh, wonderful. If someone assaulted your sister or your mother, and then stood up in court and claimed she was just some slut anyway, only to end up handing you a $2.5 million settlement? I’m pretty sure you’d be saying "Thank you very much!" right along with them.

the next day, she allegedly had underwear covered in two different guys' semen and pubic hair.
i doubt anyone was actually raped if she was already looking for sex again the very next morning.

That was a pathetic attempt at a defense. There’s zero proof those were even the same pair of underwear, nor is there any confirmation that she had sex with someone else after the incident with Kobe Bryant. Besides, the woman was in an ambulance where doctors found physical injuries consistent with sexual assault.

wiredfalcon2 said:People tend to gloss over the fact that Kobe Bryant assaulted a 19-year-old girl. Of course, the mainstream media is going to conveniently scrub that from the narrative, along with all those people who just want to play the emotional forgiveness card, but whatever. Bottom line? The guy was a rapist.

Fair point, I actually slipped up there. I've been reading that things were never truly cleared up, but even just the way they dragged her through the press—and how Bryant's legal defense basically argued she was "sleeping with someone else" a day later—is just pathetic. But honestly, isn't that just a symptom of a larger societal issue? You've got these massive superstars who act like the world revolves around them and they can do whatever they want to whoever they want, you've got young women caught in these impossible situations, and then you have the media and the public who instinctively take the celebrity's side because, frankly, they don't give a damn. Not to mention the lawyers who will tear anyone apart just to settle a lawsuit. It’s the exact same dynamic we’re seeing with Ronaldo right now. It's pretty disgusting when you think about it. That said, it doesn't change the fact that it's tragic how Bryant and his daughter passed away, nor does it erase the fact that he was a legend on the court.

Btw, not all the media outlets forgot, but The Washington Post suspended their reporter just because she posted about it on Twitter after Bryant died.

brightpilot6 said:Does anyone actually believe his passing is a bigger tragedy than dealing with those miserable folks back in Appalachia? Honestly, I’ve spent more time arguing with them in real life than I ever will about Kobe Bryant, for goodness' sake. If this were just some static PDF document, the retirees on here would probably feel the exact opposite.

It hits you differently when someone who seemed larger than life passes away before their time, especially if you truly loved watching them work. What is life, really? I suspect Kobe would have traded every single trophy, every bit of fame, and every achievement just to have five more years—even if he had to spend them as just another anonymous Barcelona fan on an internet forum.

Maybe he already did?

hint : mister Yellow? ☕

Just kidding. I just spit over my shoulder three times—fingers crossed Yellow is doing alright and we actually get to see Barcelona back on top in Europe before I end up in an American nursing home.

Honestly, where else could you find a better example than the people who treat soccer like an emotional rollercoaster?😳

Charles Roberts33 said:In an American nursing home, someone you actually know could go up in flames, yet you find yourself more invested in some nameless old woman and her fate than in a legendary figure whose work inspired you to pull a clown act at your high school talent show once in a while.

Why on earth do you assume complaining on this forum is the only way to vent? And honestly, that bit about the nursing home hit a nerve. I actually followed that case, and it’s just one more example of how much this crumbling country lets people down. But hey, if you ask me, I’d still much rather be arguing about athletes on ESPN than debating the failures of our elderly care system.

Honestly, Lord Byron, you’re just wasting your life following billionaires in red and white stripes instead of helping old folks pick up their groceries or cleaning up trash in a vineyard. Have some shame ☕
