Patrick Martin said:It’s always the same thing—constant bossing around. "You gotta do this," "you need to do that," "do it my way," "you will do it." Just endless, relentless micromanaging until they suddenly think they’re some kind of dictator.🤦

🤣

Charles Roberts33 said:Nice one, Patrick, you’re onto something here. It’s no coincidence that dark-haired women have been driving composers crazy for centuries.😉.

The whole notion that blondes are more attractive is mostly just a byproduct of Hugh Hefner’s magazines and early Hollywood—pretty much an American obsession.☕.

So, fellas, just curious—who else here does it? 😉

Whether they’re dark, whether they’re blonde—honestly, I don't care. As long as they've got some backbone, we're good.

Patrick Martin said:Anyone actually know where that whole Hitler salute thing even came from?

How exactly?

With Valverde taking the reins at FC Barcelona and Zoran Milanović running things as President... our good friend Ajut is certainly facing some turbulent times. It’s a miracle he hasn't lost his mind yet, though thank God he’s at least pulling for Liverpool.

Paul Sanders5 said:I’m not even losing sleep over Kolinda. Honestly, people like her always end up landing some cushy gig in the European Union anyway. It'll be the exact same story for Plenković once he loses his seat—they won't give a damn about the fallout 😁

They'd much rather play big fish in a small pond than be just another suit in Brussels. 😁

Rachel Cooper3 said:Perhaps this entire thing was orchestrated—a deliberate loss intended to maintain government stability.
Even Zoran's people are raising their hands in Congress to support Andrej Plenković. ☕

I wouldn't rule it out.

Her behavior lately has been quite strange.

I highly doubt Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović is cunning enough to play a game like that, and she’s certainly too vain to intentionally embarrass herself or provoke a loss. Honestly, the woman just snapped, plain and simple. And let's be real, this doesn't help Andrej Plenković either; the elections made it clear that the right wing would rather vote for Mirko Škoro or just stay home than cast a ballot for his Republican Party.

So, it looks like we won't be stuck watching Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović or listening to her nonsense for the next five years. Is this actually happening? 😍
Offside Chat Archives (2014-2021) in Soccer ·
It might actually be a good idea to have Mirko Škoro break out into song at Zoran Milanović's headquarters; after all, the man played quite a role in Kolinda's defeat 😁

Paul Sanders5 said:Look, Rambo is never gonna vote for the "lesser of two evils." Never. Only if some insane dictator takes over, just as an absurd example.

I’m glad you guys can do that, though. You probably voted for Milan Bandić in a dark alley too—as long as it wasn't the Republican Party, right? Honestly, that kind of logic is soul-crushing.🤷

Tonight I’m just gonna pour myself a shot of schnapps, watch these elections unfold through the news portals, and frankly, I don't give a fuck who wins. I'll be doing just fine regardless.

The whole foundation of marriage is about supporting the lesser evil, as you can clearly see.☕ 😁

Fuck, did Kolinda really manage to lose an election she should have won against a political corpse like Zoran Milanović? You have to be a total genius to pull that off.🙏

wiredrider9 said:And honestly, that’s facts—but here’s the kicker: why hasn't anyone actually opened an investigation into all those 90s sell-offs now that that absolute monster, the root of every single problem we have, is finally gone? Where's the deep dive into where all that money actually came from? We swap out politicians like we're changing clothes, but the habit of sweeping everything under the rug just keeps going. And what about the massive looting during the 2000s? Does that just not count?

That is a massive issue, honestly. It's the exact kind of thing that keeps this country's economy and politics stuck in the mud. Assets get sold off, the cash gets laundered or hidden away, and an investigation never even gets off the ground. Everything just disappears into thin air. Like you said, it didn't stop after the 90s; it carried right through the 2000s and the 2010s, and if we aren't careful, it'll just keep happening indefinitely.

The real issue with privatization isn't that the socialists were running the show; it’s that they handed the keys over to nothing but thieves.

ambertinker41 said:I know Thompson loves skipping out on paying musicians who played on his albums, but I highly doubt he'd ever actually bother touring through Mexico.

The real kicker here is that a massive chunk of his voter base would probably hold his trip to Mexico against him way harder than they would his habit of stiffing his own band.

I didn't quite catch how Zoran Milanović was being rude; all I saw was the footage of Unai Emery losing his cool with him. Was Zoki making fun of him for that "good evening" thing?

Why on earth is Unai Emery coming for Zoran Milanović? 😂

I’m wishing you all some top-tier football, the total downfall of Real Madrid, and nothing but good health. In that specific order. ☕

The Witcher series is easily one of the greatest RPGs ever made—one of the last true bastions of actual RPG gameplay before the flood of Bethesda garbage and cheap knockoffs took over. 😁

The Author is honestly an idiot and a total nightmare in RL. You could tell from what people were saying about him back in his home country; he sold off the book rights for the game for peanuts because he figured whoever made it wouldn't do a good job and thought the property had zero potential. Then, the game becomes this massive global phenomenon that puts him and his series on the map far beyond his own borders, and suddenly he's suing them and demanding more money. Typical.

Back when that Hacker stuff was actually trending, I was keeping up with it all, but I pretty much lost interest somewhere around the time Fallout 2 came out and I moved on to playing Football Manager. 😁

William Gomez5 said:Even if nothing else, you can at least say they've got ties to one of the biggest gaming franchises of the 21st century.

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have even touched this adaptation if The Witcher (especially the third one) hadn't become such a massive powerhouse in the industry.

So, did the game actually happen? I’m completely out of the loop here. 😳 Let’s be honest, isn't it usually the case that video game adaptations end up looking like some low-budget, half-baked afterthought? It feels like they rarely get the respect they deserve.

Peter Thompson4 said:I mean, I guess so, but also kind of not? He was definitely a favorite, and honestly, the only reason I even picked up his book was because of how huge he'd become, but still... Just because something blows up in certain genre circles doesn't mean it's actually mainstream, because even after I finished the first book, I didn't feel like I really knew him, and riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidiculously few people had ever heard of him before, yet now suddenly everything has flipped completely upside down...

Look, if something manages to carve out a dedicated niche in the sci-fi community, that’s already a massive win. When you consider how huge the English-speaking audience is, those "niche" numbers actually turn into a pretty substantial fanbase ready to binge a series. Of course, this show ended up becoming a massive hit that blew right past those initial expectations, but let’s be real—I highly doubt that was part of the original pitch when they first decided to bring the adaptation to life. Was anyone actually expecting it to go that big? Probably not.

Peter Thompson4 said:I don't think that's the only reason, honestly, because even George R. R. Martin was pretty much a nobody before his Game of Thrones series blew up.

Sure, Martin had his following in the sci-fi niche, and he is an American, after all. But let's be honest—translated literature is always a tough sell in the US, especially when it falls into genre fiction. It actually surprises me they even attempted to adapt Andrzej Sapkowski in the first place.

Amanda Evans2 said:I can't help but wonder about the production value here; it honestly feels like it falls quite a bit short of the standard you'd expect from an HBO series of this caliber.
Netflix certainly puts out a massive amount of content, but they just don't seem to have that same level of polish or prestige...

I suppose that’s what happens when the source material comes from some Polish author instead of someone like J.R.R. Tolkien or George R. R. Martin.

Patrick Martin said:Look, you guys won't shut up about how much people trash the Church and its holidays, only to turn around and act like everything is fine once they can actually enjoy them. You know, because it's the end of the year and everyone’s suddenly in that chill, laid-back mood...
Well, that’s exactly why it’s set up this way. It’s designed to mirror the image of an ordinary person. A worker. A farmer. It offers us comfort. And hope. It puts some color into this otherwise rotten daily grind.

But no, you lot always have to find some hidden agenda or someone's selfish interest in it. So fine, if someone else wants to invent a "better" way, some "better" story or vibe—go ahead. Nobody's stopping you. 🤷

Just remember—and I’m telling you this straight—there isn't a better way to do things. And even if some "better" alternative actually showed up, you'd just end up circling back to this exact same thing anyway.

You guys just don't get it.☕

What good are Hanukkah or Eid to you
if you don't have Christmas? It’s just better!

Look, I didn't get to pick my country any more than a Priest gets to pick his calling or the specific organization he serves—you know, the one where he'll quietly cover for his brothers when things get messy. You get what I'm saying?
