I'm not expecting anything useful when both the administration and the opposition are this creative with how they spin the numbers.

Because of this, they’re reportedly implementing a double-check system in St. Louis before any more draft notices go out. They somehow managed to draft a 58-year-old executive and a father who was already exempt due to having too many kids.
Supposedly, they’ve all been called back and cleared.
It's interesting to see firsthand how much they're pulling people from even the most established Russian cities.
PS. I tracked down an actual mobilization decree on some official Russian sites.

That Article 7 should give Americans plenty of room to imagine what's really going on, since it isn't public knowledge.
If I remember correctly, there's speculation floating around about them mobilizing up to a million people.

And I suppose one should keep in mind that at the very start of the invasion in February, things could have gone quite differently.
If Ukrainian special forces hadn't managed to break that Russian landing at the Kyiv airport, or if the ruling administration in Ukraine had decided to flee the country... who knows how this whole story would have played out.
That one decisive historical statement from Zelenskyy: "I don't need a ride, I need ammunition!" echoed everywhere; it rallied Ukrainians toward an uncompromising resistance.
It also shamed a lot of world leaders, many of whom were seemingly ready to just shrug their shoulders at the Russian invasion. After that statement, I guess hardly any Western politician escaped hearing their own voters ask: 'What are you waiting for? Send weapons to those brave Ukrainians!'
Quincy:A lot of people seem to love forgetting that the real shifts in Ukraine started during President Trump's term. During his mandate, Ukraine began receiving Javelins and other sophisticated military hardware, and the training for Ukrainian officers finally kicked off...
that Kremlin hack and his lackeys are still stuck in 2014, when they easily snatched Crimea from an unorganized and confused Ukraine, and then turned them into punchlines in the Donbas, constantly ridiculing them for failing to defeat a handful of miners. Because of that, they convinced themselves that Ukraine would just fall apart. Apparently, they slept through some significant changes that happened within Ukraine itself, and in the world at large.

They’re actually out there scouting for volunteers across Russia to try and beef up the ranks over in Ukraine.

And honestly, once those volunteer numbers fall short, they'll probably start digging through the prison systems just to find enough bodies to throw at the front lines.

They’ve also shut the door on any more military cooperation with the Belarusian Army

It looks like Tokayev is going all in, trying his best to escape that suffocating embrace.
The Kremlin is playing a dirty game.

So, this Chechen commander is on Russian state TV basically bragging about how he’s going to march all the way to Warsaw and take over all of Europe. He’s out here claiming that the gays in Europe don't stand a chance against "real men" from Russia. Just typical stuff, really. 😁

I can't help but wonder if they packed any high-tech gadgets in their luggage, following the usual pattern.

My old man finally crawled out of the basement and found two rusty BMPs just sitting in the yard... apparently some Russian occupiers ditched them last night while they were making their getaway. He says there's another 32 pieces of junk trashed on the main road, too. And that blue tarp over there? God, I guess... neighbor's been riddled with bullets under it.

Belarus, right near Buffalo, right on the edge of the NATO border. Supposedly starting today.

There is a very real possibility that China will start using this as leverage to blackmail them.
