Of course, Coca-Cola isn't exactly healthy any more than milk is if you decide to drink ten liters of it a day. It seems to me you've taken everything you saw on TV at face value; instead of forming an opinion based on news segments, try doing your own research and then tell me what you think. Moderation is key in everything, including Coca-Cola. Similarly, McDonald's isn't any healthier than a greasy burger or a plate of ribs, but if you eat one Big Mac once a month, I can assure you that you won't end up with prostate cancer.😂
Chris Barrett37 said:How on earth does "brand value" count as liquid capital? How can they even spend it? 🤣 It’s basically a paper value—it isn't the actual worth of the company, nor is it like physical gold reserves sitting in a vault. It's purely theoretical. That money only becomes real if someone actually decides to buy that brand name and starts pumping their own product into those iconic soda bottles.

For all I care, they could be owned by Germans or Turks. What actually matters is the sheer value of the brand itself—take Coca-Cola, for example. Just to clarify the practical side of things—many homeowners swear by keeping a liter of it overnight to dissolve limescale in the toilet, then just flushing it away in the morning. Beyond that, today's Walt Disney is practically defined by violence, McDonald's is essentially junk food and a direct contributor to diabetes, Microsoft Windows seems to glitch constantly regardless of how many updates they push, Ford feels like it's built out of sponge, and then there's Marlboro... Let's try rephrasing it this way instead: "10 companies with the highest 'idiot tax.'"

Like, if I bought into McDonald's, would the name alone come with all the franchise agreements and stuff?

Khm... look, I might sound a bit slow here, but... is there actually any real point to this thread? Or did we somehow end up with our very own little political debate corner right here on the global news board?

It’s not even like this started because of the weather or anything. To make matters worse, I feel like my eye is actually stuck shut—just a total sensation of burning. And get this: I don't even have a fever. I've tried hopping in the shower, but it doesn't do squat; I'll get about fifteen minutes of relief before the sweat starts pouring again, even though I'm dressed in basically nothing. I have no clue what's going on. I just want to fix this because I feel absolutely miserable.

First off, I can't stop comparing myself to everyone else. I’m in college right now and my grades are solid—just like they were in high school and middle school—but I never actually feel proud of those achievements.
Then there’s my body. Even though I have moments where I look in the mirror and think, "Okay, I actually look good," that feeling evaporates within five minutes. Suddenly, I’m just ugly, overweight, and—God knows what else. I’m constantly jumping from one diet to the next, even though I know deep down that no diet on the planet is going to fix how I feel inside.
Third, I struggle to value anything I’ve accomplished. For instance, I survived sexual abuse, lived through a diagnosis of anxious depression, was hospitalized after a suicide attempt, and even saw my abuser behind bars for eight years—yet I still don't give myself credit for surviving all that. Nothing I do feels significant because I tell myself anyone could do it, even though I know in my heart that isn't true.
I don't know... I just really want to learn how to value myself as a person—as someone smart and beautiful (which I do believe during my best moments) and capable. I’d love some help navigating this.
Thanks
