I really hope things turn out better than what I went through about two years ago. Back then, I had a positive pregnancy test just two days after my period was late—it was a Sunday. By Tuesday, I started spotting this brownish discharge, so we headed to the ER that night. Of course, the ultrasound didn't show anything because, well, it was just too early. I ended up staying overnight, and they drew my blood for a beta test in the morning. I didn't get the results until that evening, and by then, it felt more and more like my actual period was starting. On the second day, they told me the beta levels were only marginally elevated, which meant it was just a biochemical pregnancy. Then my period arrived. :'(
In my case, though, my period showed up right after that brown spotting stopped—so if you notice the spotting has ceased, there's a chance everything might actually be okay!
I suppose I should probably weigh in on this, though I’m not entirely sure if anyone is actually looking for my take. It feels like we’ve been circling the same drain for a while now, and frankly, I’m getting a bit tired of the repetitive nature of these discussions. I’ve been sitting here thinking about how things have shifted lately, and maybe I'm just being overly cautious, but there seems to be a certain lack of direction that I can't quite shake. It’s almost as if everyone is just waiting for someone else to make a move instead of actually addressing the core issues at hand. I mean, I guess you could argue that patience is a virtue, but at some point, you have to wonder if we're just spinning our wheels. I don't want to sound like I'm complaining for the sake of complaining—I really don't—but there is a palpable sense of stagnation here. Maybe I'm misreading the room, or maybe I'm just more sensitive to these shifts than the average person, but it feels like we're missing the bigger picture. We keep focusing on these tiny, insignificant details while the actual foundation is starting to show some cracks. It’s frustrating, I suppose, but also somewhat predictable if you look at the patterns we've seen over the last few months. Anyway, that's just my two cents. I'll probably go back to minding my own business now, but I figured it was worth mentioning. kaže: Those hairy guys and the Londoners... what a bunch of absolute nonsense. Anything with coconut works for me—think like those Raffaello truffles. Honestly, I’m always down for any kind of Ferrero Rocher imitation you can find. 😁
Laura Clark5 said:A Canadian pastry spread is an absolute non-negotiable! I’m talking about those flaky little treats, hussar kisses, triangles, and every single kind of crusty dessert you can imagine—think honey pies, white cream pies, Julka slices, Moon pies, cream rolls, Linzers, coconut crescents, cinnamon hearts... Is that enough for you? 🤣
Good grief, just thinking about it has me starving already. 🤣
Haha, thanks for the ideas—I'll be sure to pass them along to my mom. 😁

Does anyone know a bakery that does dessert shooters, something like this:
I saw those kinds of desserts at a wedding at the Hilton, but they used Delivered Catering, and I don't think they specialize just in sweets... Are there any other options out there?
Also, Favory has their own dedicated pastry shop they partner with; I think they can definitely pull off stuff like this, and honestly, their prices are usually pretty reasonable.
Laura Clark5😁 Thanks for those photos! I’ve actually been looking for some inspiration regarding different types of pastries—everything from those dry, bite-sized cookies to the more decadent stuff. You’ve honestly given me a huge list of ideas to work with now. 👍
By the way, what kind of treats usually fall under that whole category? What are everyone's absolute favorites? I want them to make a little bit of everything. My aunts actually have a catering license, so I have total freedom to pick whatever I want. So, come on, people, let me know what you think! 😛)
It looks lovely. 😁 Are those top two sections supposed to be heart-shaped? It seems a little short and wide to me, but I assume that was the intention—it's all subjective, I guess.

We didn't end up having that whole "cake frenzy" moment, and honestly, I wasn't even really in the mood for it.
By the time I finally decided to grab a slice, it was already gone. 🙂🤷
Man, I really hope that doesn't happen to me. 😂
Anyway, I might ask a question about 🙄 later, but I think Bobis is located somewhere down in Florida. They don't operate in New York City, so I wonder if they even do deliveries, right? 😁

urbanowl10, how much were those cupcakes? Where'd you find them?
I was just thinking out loud about those ones from Zvrkse.
Richard Myers13 said:We have a lovely selection of cookies and cakes on the menu. If you decide to go with fondant for your cake, there's just a small additional charge for that. I'd be more than happy to DM you the full menu—we were absolutely blown away by everything we tried!
Actually, send it my way too, just because I'm curious. 😍
Is that Sugarman the one with that slight hint of caramel flavor? If it is, that's my absolute favorite 😂 though I'm just kidding—in moderation, it's fine.
So, if they're charging by the slice, 🤔 then we're looking at roughly $400 🙂 which ends up being about the same price as those individual pastries, so now I'm back to square one with this decision. 🙂
Since I haven't actually started asking around about cake prices yet, I was looking at the one Inna mentioned on this thread (the white one with purple hearts), and I was wondering if anyone could give me a rough estimate of what that might run me? Specifically, for those of you who actually tied the knot, 😉what did you end up paying for a cake meant to serve about 120 guests? I think I've mostly ruled out doing cupcakes instead, though I guess I haven't completely made up my mind 😁
I really need to start getting my act together regarding the cake situation. While I was away at the beach, I kept having these stressful dreams where I was still trying to sort everything out right before the ceremony—like, literally 😁the same day .

Heh, I always seem to track this stuff down eventually. Up until now, I only had her in plain white, and I kept telling myself how much I wanted one with a colored heart. Now that I’ve finally gone looking to add it, I couldn't be bothered dealing with ImageShack, so I just hunted for the exact one online, and honestly, 😍
cosmiccrane15, that cake is absolutely stunning 🙂 and if my memory serves me right, the price was great too 😁
The hearts are only on the front side. And honestly, Nathan Cox25, that spider is terrifying—it’s visually striking, sure, but definitely not something you’d want at a wedding unless you’re looking to give everyone nightmares.
Jesse Lopez90 🤷 I'm wondering if there's an issue with the link itself, or if it's just my connection acting up, because everything else seems to be loading fine. Maybe try uploading a screenshot instead, provided the file size isn't too massive? 🤣
EDIT: Well, I see that Nathan Cox25 managed to get it open, but on my end, I'm stuck watching things load at 3.x speed—the page just keeps hanging. And here I was, dying to see this!
I’m not sure if you guys have a Target nearby, but they were having a sale on them just now. You could grab two different kinds of chocolate for $74. Yeah, Nathan Cox25 and I are totally on the same page about this 😁.
I think there might be some suggestions for pajamas a few posts back 😉
I believe if you check out an old Pier 1 or maybe hit up a local farmers market in a place like Seattle, you could probably find those little figurines and cake toppers. I haven't actually gone looking for them myself, though.
