I’ve been thinking a lot about how much more granular everything is becoming in the marketing world. It feels like every single day there’s a new way to track a consumer's every move, and the pressure for companies to see immediate results is just getting insane.
I remember working a stint in retail a few years back, and the management was constantly breathing down our necks about specific hourly metrics. It felt like we weren't even focused on the customer anymore, just the numbers on the dashboard. Now, with all this tech being developed to bridge the gap between seeing a screen and actually making a purchase, I wonder if we're just creating a loop of constant, frantic adjustments.
Does anyone else feel like this obsession with instant feedback is actually hurting long-term brand loyalty? Are we just chasing micro-trends instead of building something that lasts?
The paper selection here in Indianapolis is pathetic. I just grabbed mine at Staples once when I was heading over to the downtown area... there's this print shop near the Chick-fil-A and the Volkswagen dealership, behind where the Tifosi hang out—I think it’s called Radin Graphics. You might want to check them out; when I called, they said they do retail, but I could never make it over there since our work schedules are identical and they're closed on Saturdays.
I wouldn't say they're sold online, but I did find them on a site... you definitely won't find a better price, and the little boxes are great. I grabbed the white ones $0.67 piece here:
Look, it all depends. I had to beg my stylist just to squeeze me in for a September appointment back in May because one bride had already booked him solid for her wedding party, even though his other weekends were wide open. So... I don't know what kind of stylist you're looking for, but honestly? Just pick a place and book it immediately so you can stop stressing about it. As for makeup, there are plenty of artists who will just come to your house, which is way easier. Just scroll through this thread and you'll see your options.
Check my previous posts if you don't believe me... I get my makeup done by Victoria from Indianapolis. You can find her on Facebook as MAC Cosmetics, so just look it up...
Robin Chase7 said:Hey Kenneth Bailey48, I'm actually heading over to the thrift store tonight so I might run into you, but if not, I'll be around that suburban neighborhood on Wednesday and could probably drop it off then 😉, since you know we really need to get this shopping done together eventually 😂 Just shoot me a private message with your cell number and maybe a photo of the specific spool you want me to hunt for Alternatively, if you'd rather have me pick up your own after September 3rd, we can do that too—though I’m honestly thinking about grabbing a smaller spool just because it might be a little easier to carry around while I'm walking I remember asking those florists for some baskets a while back
😂😂😂 looks like it! Hey, we could totally do that. You can grab a petticoat from me after your wedding 🙂, but only if you get one with a single layer and something mid-sized 🙂. You can come check out my wedding dress while you're at it to see the style—unless you already ruined it? If you didn't, I 🙂 can show you.
I need help!!! Where can I find a wedding dress hoop or crinoline around Indianapolis, VK, or Vu? I know they're on eBay, but I don't have the time to hunt through shops in New York City, and honestly, I'm not even sure if I'll make it there in time if I go.
We picked up some cookies from that local bakery, and honestly, I haven't had anything this good anywhere else. They look amazing too... go check them out, we got $17 pound... super cheap and delicious 🙂
Why don't you just design the trim yourself? Buy some beads and stitch them onto a scrap of tulle exactly how you want it, then cut it out and attach it to the dress... or do you know someone who makes custom jewelry who could just whip it up for you?
Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but check it out:
Maybe poke around the site a bit more to find something else... or just head to their shop and ask someone directly. Isn't that usually the best way to go?
neonridge38... I don't know, I'm not buying it. My florist delivers to my van in Indianapolis, so if plants could just walk themselves over, wouldn't that save 🤷 ? Does it actually have to be a farmers market, or can you hit up a nursery?? And what's the end goal here anyway??
wiredowl10 said:I just wanted to drop a quick note to let everyone know that Victoria P. didn't even show up for my makeup appointment on the actual wedding day 😁. So, yeah—just thought I'd mention it, in case anyone was wondering if that kind of thing is actually possible...
Is this my girl from Indianapolis? You've gotta be kidding me! Seriously?!🙄 So how did you even pull that off? Who did your makeup?😕
Thanks, ladies... We were planning on heading to Paris anyway, either during this long weekend or when I take my vacation. Hopefully everything works out. I could even fly to Rome today, but I've heard some people complaining about the quality of the gold there, huh? We'll see. Thanks 😉.
Hey. Just wanted to vent for a second... I stopped by that jeweler, Bauman, over at Emerson... and honestly? What a letdown. Everything I asked for was a "no." You go to a custom jeweler who doesn't even keep stock on hand, only to find out they can't actually design anything more interesting than a basic ring you could pick up at any mall. I really expected more from them. 😢What a waste of time. Does anyone know a decent custom jeweler around here or maybe in NYC that won't charge me an absolute fortune?

Royal is fully booked on my day off...
edit. I just stumbled upon Studio Galah online—has anyone actually been there? It’s a one-stop shop for hair and skin, which would be super convenient since I’m hoping to get myself, my mom, and my maid of honor all sorted at once...
I can't speak for hair; I barely managed to squeeze myself in with Igor even though I booked four months ahead. Unbelievable. As for booking my godmother, mom, and sister, I'm still struggling to find anyone. Seriously, I have no clue... Gallah isn't a hair salon, just skin care. Their best tech actually opened her own place inside Royal—Studio Iva, I think. You can check Royal's website for Iva's info and pricing if you want makeup. Also, Ivanas's hair place near Bears Bar is great, but she's completely slammed on my day too! It seems like everyone in Stalingrad and the surrounding areas decided to get married on September 17th. 🙂
I can't help you with much else, but if you need cookies, check out Caravel. We grabbed some from them and they were incredible—super moist and delicious. Honestly, their prices beat everyone else we called, and the owner is a total pro. A solid 5/5, highly recommend. 🙂
We hired http://www.quattro-band-osijek.com/qbo-na-vjencanju/. That's their site, but you won't find any recordings on there. Based on our experience, the singer was great and they play just about everything. They're willing to learn whatever you need—they even picked up some Southern country tunes because they've played plenty of weddings down South. They've performed everywhere, really. Just a heads-up: you need to book them at least a year in advance, if not longer.
