As far as I'm concerned... sure.

electriccanyon6 said:Look, there isn’t some massive rift happening here—it’s actually pretty simple! Trump is just looking out for his own backyard, and Europe is doing the exact same thing. It’s all about self-interest, really. Trump is focused on protecting the American economy, and he’s definitely not interested in footing the entire bill for NATO if he doesn't have to.

He doesn't have to. Leaving NATO would basically be political suicide for him, and let's be honest, it's not like NATO is synonymous with the USA.
Just as Trump knows that Europeans make plenty of empty threats, Europeans know that when it comes to NATO... Trump is mostly bluffing. There is zero chance they'll actually hike up their contributions, especially since they've already told him—and others—exactly where they stand.
Let him try it...

nimblepuma69 said:The EU is a total scam, just like America. They built the structure but forgot to actually build a people, whether you call them Europeans or anything else. When it breaks, it’ll be messy—some parts will fight, some might walk away peacefully—but honestly, who cares about the drama? The real story is the massive heist happening behind the scenes. It’s just like when America fell apart: one giant robbery planned from the start. But look, let's pivot away from the EU for a second. I'm actually losing sleep over Switzerland. How long can a place like that even last? Will they split into tiny pieces or just get swallowed up by their neighbors? Switzerland isn't the "neutral oasis" it used to be. I'm trying to figure out what the endgame is for them and if there's an expiration date on their existence. To me, that’s way more interesting than the EU, which even its biggest fans are starting to realize is circling the drain.

Not quite... it'll survive, but not in its current form.
A two-speed system and a detached carriage. It seems the Germans are pushing back against that scenario even harder than the Russians are.

nimblepuma69 said:Forget everything Macron says. Just look at who put him in power and what his whole agenda actually is.
It’s the exact same deal with those German statements—they’ll act like they’re pressuring Trump to fall back in line with the old guard and stick to those globalist deals. All while pretending to be "defenders of the people" just to claw back some popularity from everyone fed up with globalization.
The thing is, they can't even think outside the box. They're hardwired for this: globalization, NATO, "democracy" run by clones, multiculturalism, all that junk.
Trump knows they’re bluffing with empty threats and that he can basically play them like a fiddle. We can take all those old jokes we used to tell about Bulgaria and Romania back during the Warsaw Pact days and just recycle them now. Especially that one about the Bulgarians sending spicy peppers to the Russians, but they end up arriving sweet. 🤣🎉🎉🎉

Macron couldn't have picked a worse time to win an election... if you ask me.
If Obama were in the WH, people outside of France wouldn't even remember his name, and the same goes for Trudeau.
By the way... the whole European Defense Force project is ancient news and gets backed by the US, but it’s turned out to be even more expensive than just paying into NATO. 🤣
Obama supported the project and was quite sharp when it came to European (non)contributions to NATO—no less than Trump—but he was always too hesitant... let's just say he was quiet about it. 😁
Now that "that fool" is in the WH, and Merkel doesn't give a damn about any of it... Macron has simply been called up because Trudeau can't step up... the guy just isn't capable.

Edit: The EU as it stands today won't survive. The only question is how and in what manner it will eventually fall apart. Merkel once suggested a two-speed Europe, which would have caught everyone off guard, but that was then.
Harold Anderson3 said:@ rowdytiger13, my stepmother—who used to beat me and my half-siblings until we were completely exhausted—was also beaten herself until she was bruised blue by her own mother, who would actually hold a knife to her throat.
It’s this heavy chain that just keeps passing down through the generations. But, honestly, I truly believe the chance to break that cycle always lies right here in the present moment, and if I ever have kids of my own, I promise I won't lay a hand on them.
Did your parents ever deal with physical abuse? Do you know anything about what their childhood was like?

My mom grew up in a rural farming town and worked incredibly hard, but she never mentions being hit, just being forced to stand in the corner. Whenever she was being naughty, that was her punishment, and she talks about it often... being stuck in that corner really traumatized her, I think she spent a lot of time there. 😁
My dad's mother tragically lost his father, so she became a total helicopter parent. She didn't lay a hand on them, but she was borderline obsessive.
What you're describing is straight-up abuse (just like it was with my former neighbor). I don't mean to offend anyone, but if you beat a child so hard they end up with injuries and bruises all over their body... that isn't "spanking," that's child abuse.
darkcanyon10 said:Whatever the cause... the reality is most schools and institutions in America are basically just sets for violent movies.

Parenting is just another controlled form of violence designed to trigger discomfort or pain in a kid to make them stop acting out. Parenting = violence.
Don't ruin kids by overdoing the affection; they need discipline.
Discipline is uncomfortable, and so is having clear boundaries. External structure builds internal structure.

The issue is that parenting "without hitting" is frequently mistaken for being permissive, which isn't the case at all.
I was raised much more strictly than my old neighbor, who was practically raised solely through physical punishment. He actually got away with way more and was given far more leeway, but the second he crossed a line, his parents would absolutely lose it on him.
Back when I was flirting with my music teacher, I got grounded for a week, whereas his parents just told him, "Let it go!" It didn't matter that he was constantly covered in bruises from being hit; he wasn't actually being raised.
The other problem is that raising kids without physical discipline requires significantly more patience, consistency, and nerves, leading people to ask: "Why bother, when a smack on the backside gets the same result in half the time?"
I don't know... I think it's worth the effort.
My brother and I grew up in a house where hands were never laid on us. I don't recall a single instance of a parent hitting me; at most, things would get loud, and that was the absolute limit of how intense it got. We were raised strictly through a system of rewards and consequences... if I’m being blunt, it felt more like training. If you messed up, the punishment stayed in effect until it was served, and both of them were damnably relentless about that.
To be honest... there were plenty of times I actually wished they’d just lost it and given me a beating, just so I could take my medicine and move on—whether that meant being grounded from the PC, staying inside, or whatever else they decided. They always picked the "perfect" punishment.
Looking back, I’m actually grateful for it. I’m proud of them for being among those rare types of parents who managed to raise two sons without ever resorting to violence, though I have to give credit to my mother, who had the time and the patience to keep everything running smoothly at home.
Politics / World, The Provence mod, systematic trolling in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Well, I’m glad you finally decided to start this thread, especially since you're one of those lead moderators who seems obsessed with trolling every single discussion on that PDF. It might be worth taking a look back at your own posts, where you basically just spout nonsense and mock anyone who doesn't fall in line with your views; meanwhile, @Antilles is being straight-up persecuted on that platform simply because she refuses to bow down to the mainstream media agenda.

Since the original post was by Bosniac1, I can explain exactly why it was taken down if he wants to know.

Probably impossible to wrap your head around unless you've actually lived through it. It's hard to grasp how much a psyche can be fractured.

Lawrence Torres56 said:So, through some weird twist of fate, I ended up right in the middle of this mess where it felt like almost everyone in the household had teamed up to gang up on one single woman. Since I see her every day and we’ve known each other for a while, I can tell you for a fact that most of their accusations are total garbage—honestly, she isn't even the villain here; they are. But the thing is, even though she sees right through them, she just won't budge or walk away. When I finally asked her what she was even doing staying in that situation, she just looked at me and said she didn't know, but somehow, there's something deep inside her keeping her anchored there...

I mean, seriously, I just can't wrap my head around what keeps people stuck in such toxic lives or broken relationships. Is it karma, some lingering sense of love, or just pure habit? I don't think it's weakness or some kind of illness in this case...
maybe years of being terrorized just caused her to completely give up on herself? Like, maybe the same way they spent years covering up their abuse, she's now spending all her energy covering up how broken she actually feels.😕

It happens all the time with people who have been mistreated for years. They end up identifying too closely with their victim role. That becomes their identity, their world, and the only thing they truly recognize.
Breaking out of that cycle is the hardest part...

I wasn't quite sure which specific one you meant out of that whole string of deleted posts.
I just gave it another read. You'll get that post back.

I'm not going to sit here and deal with massive trolling if I have the chance to shut it down.
I’m done going back and forth. I already stated that most of what you've posted in this thread is just pure trolling, so I won't be restoring them. The supermod can see all the deleted posts anyway, so if they think I've made a mistake... they can just put them back.

bluecyclist64 said:Look, I’ve never actually been against banning trolls.

If you deleted my posts just because you were trying to protect me, then thanks for the gesture. However, I’d much rather deal with a warning or a ban than have my actual thoughts—my posts—vanish as if they never existed in the first place.

See, I don't hang out on this forum just because I'm some loser with too much time on my hands; I actually care about sharing my perspectives with others.

So, I’m asking nicely: please restore at least one of my posts, specifically the one where I argued that paradise is nonsense and that eternal bliss can only be found in death.
If you won't do that, at least paste the content here and explain exactly where you saw any trolling.

And one more thing: if the concept of trolling isn't entirely clear to you, feel free to ask some of the veterans on other subreddits. You can even ask me; I won't hold it against you. 😉

Go ahead, be a hero and try to make amends for the cultural devastation you've inflicted upon this fine American public by brutally exterminating my entries. 😉

There’s a reason it was removed, and that is to prevent a massive trolling spree from starting.
So you can forget about being "devastated" as far as I'm concerned.

I’ve been cleaning them up myself, but I’m done. From here on out, I'm just handing out bans for trolling.

Give them ten days of extreme circumstances and a little nod to their glorious Viking warrior past.

Suddenly you’ve got warriors who are arguably more intense than any group in the Middle East that hasn't seen peace in generations.

Collective consciousness is a hell of a thing, and a 200-year gap means absolutely nothing to it.
You don't seriously think guys marching off to war fueled by battle cries are doing it based on "individual, rational habits," do you?

In today's climate, Swedes come across as a totally neutered people, especially to outsiders. They barely grasp restlessness or waiting in line, let alone raising their voices or using force. But anyone thinking they don't have a breaking point is dead wrong. Usually, when people like that finally snap, it's incredibly brutal.
Personally, I think that's exactly what's coming: they'll endure it—with that typical Swedish naivety and calm—until something triggers a sudden, violent shift. And then, everyone's going to see just how much they can actually do.

What you're describing sounds more like the Danes. If you scratch just beneath the surface, the Viking comes out, and honestly, the Norwegians aren't far behind them either.
As for the Swedes... they're the type to say, "I wouldn't want to get involved in that mess."
