The dominance of those thoroughbreds just keeps going. Nobody expected anything less here at the Monaco Grand Prix, but looking at the season as a whole, things are heading in a great direction. It’s a massive surprise from Ferrari, if not a total shock... People kept saying Red Bull Racing would make strides and catch up quickly because their development pace was supposedly superior, but so far, it's been the exact opposite. They teased some upgrades for the Spanish Grand Prix, yet Ferrari is the one pulling away. The sheer speed of that car is terrifying. I've noticed Charles Leclerc is already consistently putting together very conservative first laps in Q3, and even then, it’s usually enough for pole. There's still plenty of room left for him to push harder in the second sector if he actually needs to.
I honestly don't know what could go wrong tomorrow. If it stays dry, it'll be a smooth cruise to the finish line. Given Leclerc's history at this track, the anxiety is justified, but this should be a routine drive—almost like a practice session—without needing to overextend. Max Verstappen is miles ahead; this can't be thrown away tomorrow.
Unfortunately, it looks like this lackluster driver lineup might end up costing Ferrari dearly. Between all the unreliability at Red Bull Racing and a mountain of mistakes in just the first four races, the constructors' championship is already looking way too close for comfort. Carlos Sainz struggled to find his rhythm with the car right at the start of the season, and on top of that, he’s dealt with a string of bad luck. That could very quickly push him into a position where he's relegated to second driver behind Charles Leclerc. Personally, I think Charles Leclerc is the worse long-term bet; he seems incredibly unstable and prone to those unnecessary mistakes, which he clearly demonstrated yesterday.
And then there's the beast himself, Max Verstappen. If they had someone of his caliber in that Red Bull Racing car, I don't think they'd be facing these issues. This is a bad combination for the long haul. At this point, you either have to hope for continued reliability issues over at Red Bull Racing or a significant jump in car pace, because what they have right now isn't going to cut it.
graniteharbor502 said:Ferrari should be worried about needing an extra lap just to get their tires up to temperature, unlike Red Bull Racing. That could prove decisive right at the start or when restarting after a safety car.
As for the safety car, the Race Director just dropped some new directives:
Basically, once the lights go out on the safety car, there's no more sudden swerving, rapid acceleration, or heavy braking. It also means they can't pull the stunt Max has been pulling until now, which is shown in the graphic above.
So, we're looking at more nonsensical rules that just create room for manipulation and inconsistent officiating depending on who the stewards feel like punishing. Who exactly is going to decide what counts as "sudden acceleration or braking" versus just driving normally to warm up the tires? Or what constitutes a dangerous maneuver versus standard tire prep? And when a situation like Figure 2 happens, how will they judge if the driver in front is at fault for braking too hard, or if the driver behind is at fault for closing the gap too aggressively? Who’s actually going to measure millimeters and centimeters between Figure 2 and Figure 3 to determine the allowed vs. disallowed position, especially in corners? In short, I can already see this turning into a complete circus...🤦
Alright, thanks to both of you for the detailed and thorough answers to some very straightforward questions. If nobody else has anything to add, feel free to lock this thread.
Just one more thing—if it’s okay if I get a little personal—for anyone reading this who was involved in this discussion, feel free to hit me up via DM if you need anything regarding this topic. Just a heads-up: since my name was mentioned publicly in this thread, I haven't disappeared; I'm still here and active. However, for the obvious reasons laid out in the moderator's replies, I won't be posting in this specific thread for the time being.
Only 3 races left on the calendar, and theoretically, every single team still has a shot at the constructors' title 😁 plus there are 7 drivers still fighting for the individual championship
what a massive difference compared to how things actually look in real F1 😁
Hello. As the title suggests, I have an extensive inquiry regarding the moderation of this specific thread, and I would appreciate some direct answers. I’ve been a heavy contributor to this discussion for years, and frankly, I’d hate to walk away from it permanently. That’s why I’m attempting this approach—to get some clarity and decide if there’s any point in continuing. I haven't posted here since Election Day, and for a very simple reason: there was a massive shift in how things are moderated at that exact moment. A huge number of users were slapped with warnings or banned, a trend that just kept rolling in the following days. Naturally, this was triggered by the arrival of the moderator lonebadger6, who jumped into this thread like some glory hunter right after the election, despite having zero involvement beforehand (he had exactly 0 posts on the pre-election thread). What followed was a wave of warnings and bans—heavy-handed ones, in lonebadger6's signature style—effectively purging most of the long-term participants who had been part of the conversation before the vote. Most were kicked out for the same reason: trying to expose the potential fraud that occurred during the election. Unlike many of them, I have a much calmer temperament. I don't feel the need to post if I know I’m just going to get flagged or if I'll end up debating the moderation itself. Seeing the current state of affairs and the attitude toward users, I decided to step back from the thread. It isn't a secret that I’ve been avoiding any threads regularly moderated by lonebadger6 for quite some time. I said that publicly a while ago, again for a simple reason: I've realized it's impossible to have a constructive debate when he's around. He hands out unjustified, excessive warnings—something I’ve experienced firsthand myself (otherwise, I haven't had a warning in years, except from him)—and he seems unable to separate his personal opinions from his duties as a moderator. But, as I mentioned, this is one of my favorite topics and I’ve been involved for a long time. I won't be falsely humble: I've made a significant contribution here (unlike the aforementioned moderator), and I am willing to go above and beyond if I can just get clear guidelines on what, how, and why certain things are allowed or forbidden. Therefore, I am looking for the stances of the moderators and the administration on the following points. Please be as precise and detailed as possible so we can avoid any future warnings:
- (1) Any mention or analysis of the election theft—what some media outlets called the "robbery of the century." - (2) Direct evidence of such fraud, such as voting by deceased individuals, multiple registrations (and multiple voting), ballot harvesting, turnout exceeding 100% in certain areas, ballot tampering, etc. - (3) Indirect evidence, such as indications or bizarre statistical anomalies that point toward a stolen election. - (4) An analysis of the farcical way Americans vote, which remains vulnerable to mass fraud regardless of this specific election. - (5) The possibility of receiving a warning via private message if I post something the moderation team deems undesirable (which, in my opinion, is what moderators should be doing anyway when dealing with a user's first "mistake").
That’s all for now. Once I receive an explanation, I will follow up if necessary. I would prefer to hear from the highest authority responsible for this section of the forum first, and only then the moderators themselves. This is to avoid the classic administrative "washing of hands" where they simply say, "I agree with the moderators."

Looks like you actually have 😁 My bad 😁
I pulled all the joker data (and everything else) from this post when I started counting, where it mentioned you'd used one joker, so I didn't double-check. After that, you used two more (Italy and Russia), which made it seem like they were all gone. But I went back and checked everything from the start and couldn't find that first one; clearly my mistake, so you're right 🙂
It’s a massive logjam in the middle of the driver standings—only 10 points separating 3rd from 10th. 🙏
In the constructors' championship, the former leaders (Nightmare) have tumbled from first down to fourth after both their drivers missed the race (I guess the virus finally caught up with them 😁). Another stellar performance by Dust Junkies keeps them right in the thick of the title fight... 👍
