Right now, I'm practicing heavy self-censorship by actively dodging one specific moderator—basically avoiding any thread they touch. Doesn't matter who it is.😁

stormytiger4 said:Backing up z_k-a. 🙏 If you ask me, his moderation during the Corona era was incredibly well-balanced. He actually gets people and understands the vibe of the conversation. He doesn't just go full cop mode or get bogged down in technicalities; he just handles things exactly how they should be handled.
👍 I’m also giving the moderator a thumbs up... 👍
Usually, the admins jump on threads like this immediately and shut them down just to stop people from talking, and then you realize that moderator is being protected like a grizzly bear in Yellowstone... Starting a thread like this usually means bad news for the moderator, so we might as well make it clear that there are plenty of us here who actually back his work... The initial thread about Corona, before the official coronavirus pdf was released under the direction of KLCCLK, was an absolute train wreck. Honestly, it’s no surprise given the moderator's delusional takes—I still remember his infamous claim that there was a "99% chance this wouldn't turn into a pandemic"...🤣...and then he went right ahead and moderated based on those exact views. The coronavirus pdf is actually really well-moderated, if I'm being honest. My only real gripe is that they should be handing out much harsher penalties to all those conspiracy theorists... If you're looking to discuss conspiracy theories—any theory, really, not just stuff about the coronavirus—there's a specific PDF alternative for that. It even covers a few topics regarding the coronavirus. In my opinion, that’s where those discussions belong. We shouldn't let conspiracy theorists clutter up every other thread; if we're too tolerant of them, it's going to happen inevitably...
Yesterday on a thread over at Coca-Cola, I reported notyourtype for repeatedly insulting people across multiple posts. I flagged several posts using the report button, but it’s been over 24 hours and there hasn't been any action. Beyond the straight-up insults, this user's tone is incredibly crude—just constant condescension and belittling everyone else... I'm not going to speculate on whether this is some burner account; that's for you moderators to figure out. I'll just quote a few of the insults along with the links:
notyourtype said:You did a great job explaining how stupid you are. Real top-tier stuff. Just keep it up, man. It seems like in your world, stupidity truly knows no bounds. Regarding insults, how would you describe yourself? An intellectual prodigy or just an uneducated moron?!
notyourtype said:Aren't you all embarrassed being this dim-witted?! And then somehow I'm the one looking bad?! Okay. Just three more forum trolls without even a basic education. I wonder how many more of you will show off your "vast knowledge." It looks like I was right—the men joining this site are mostly just notorious, uneducated idiots.
notyourtype said:Well obviously, when you're as dumb as hell. Who would want to deal with any of you?! ☕
notyourtype said:So basically, just bore me with your nonsense.
Find some other idiot to listen to you, because you don't have the intellectual capacity for a real debate since you lack any general knowledge. ☕
notyourtype said:Are you dyslexic or something? Just asking, because you and those other three trolls clearly have massive issues with reading comprehension.

I’m suggesting to the moderators that any discussion regarding corona that isn't in its designated threads should be deleted and sanctioned. This has become unbearable since you can't write a single word about anything else without being interrupted.
Look, if there's a "USA" thread and a "Trump" thread on the "World" board, those aren't places for corona talk—especially since the corona board even has its own dedicated thread about the USA. So, my suggestion is simple: delete any posts from those two boards and move them over to the corona board. It's the same deal with the corona topic itself; just like the virus, it’s clearly spreading across the entire forum. On the Politics board, we have threads like "coronavirus and civil rights" and "do you agree with government measures to contain the virus...". Why aren't those located on the corona board? They were opened on March 24th and March 26th. Furthermore, it would make sense to move the general corona megathread from Politics over to the corona board so it can be the main topic there. Anyway, I think things need some cleaning up. Corona might be the biggest story in the world right now, but everywhere I turn, I can't say a damn thing about anything else because everything is being spammed with corona talk.
If there’s any way to somehow break into the private messages of my own banned accounts, please let me know. If that isn't an option,
I’m asking the admins—if it’s at all possible—to temporarily unban a few of my profiles, even if it's just for five minutes. I have several old, banned accounts containing data that is absolutely critical. I used to keep everything in digital notes, but some hackers wiped everything out, so this is my only way to recover the info. I just need access to the messages to read them, and then you can ban them all again immediately. I have a few different profiles, and one is more important than the rest. If this can be done, it would mean a lot. 🙂 I can send over the links if it helps.
Also, I was wondering if the moderators happen to have a record of all my former burner accounts that you could send over. Since those hackers nuked everything, I’ve completely lost track of which is which.
In my opinion, Plenković winning is great news for America (that's the only lens I'm using, because I don't really care about the Republican Party as an entity). It creates the space needed to strengthen new parties on the right, which ultimately weakens the Republican Party. If Kovács had won, it would have been easy for every other right-wing alternative to just drown before the next election, so I'm skeptical about that happening. 👍
lonebadger6 said:I’ll address the question regarding my colleague’s ban directly—yes, I agree with the decision to hand out a card for trolling...
Could someone clarify this? Do you guys (the mods) think racism against white people actually exists? Personally, I think saying it doesn't exist is total nonsense used just to downplay the reality of racism. Which races are we talking about here... It doesn't exist... Racism and why does it happen? The historical facts are pretty clear regarding which types of prejudice dominated the past, but let's be real—racism can target just about anyone... If you guys actually believe racism against white people is a thing, then how is the claim that "it wouldn't be a bad idea to strip white people of leadership roles for 10 or 20 years" not considered racist? Not to mention it was wrapped up in some trollish joke about how it would give them more time to spend with their kids...
lonebadger6 said:I’d also add that we're actually pretty tolerant when it comes to people bashing public figures. There's been endless commentary on Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama... and basically every other American politician too.
I get that perfectly, just like I said before, but don't you think that... Constant... Constant, vulgar insults without any shred of self-control lead nowhere. It kills any chance of actual discussion, and honestly, someone needs to put a stop to it. If someone calls out a move by calling someone an "idiot" once in a while, that’s one thing. But there's a massive difference when someone spends every single day hurling insults just for the sake of being toxic, which is exactly what this user does. That’s the entire core of his participation here—just constant attacks on Trump. Not to mention, it's basically spam at this point. Even if he were just repeating "Trump is a genius" over and over without adding any real arguments, he should be flagged for spamming. It's exhausting...
lonebadger6 said:That doesn't quite qualify as incitement to violence, but from what I can see, this user is just replying to someone else's "call" for it—whether they’re being sincere or, more likely, just trolling. At that point, the reply becomes part of the troll itself. In my book, either they're both just messing around (regardless of what's actually going on in their heads, it's all just forum banter) or they both deserve a 500 ban... We can't just assume the first guy is joking and then punish the second one for responding with a "haha, look at this..." attitude...
That’s exactly why we need a moderator who actually sticks around and reads this thread regularly. You have to know the users, their specific stances, and their track record on this topic if you want to be effective. That’s supposed to be the job description, isn't it? To moderate based on context rather than just reacting blindly...
Forum member cosmicgull52 The thread about Donald Trump is just constant trolling and spam now. People are being insulting, and lately, the racist outbursts have become impossible to ignore... I'm curious if the rest of the mod team and administration agree that these posts...1,2Is he just trolling when he claims racism against white people doesn't exist, or when he pushes for banning certain jobs for whites solely based on skin color? Or are we looking at a blatant example of racism here... I don't know what you're trying to get at here...The only guy who pops up here once in a while acting like a moderator gave this user exactly one 25-point troll card for this entire racist meltdown. I want to know if everyone else agrees... After that, this guy just went on a trolling spree, leaning hard into racism. Now, almost every single thing he posts is obsessed with race and constantly bringing up "white men"...
Furthermore, according to Article 5 of the policy PDF... "To keep things civil, please avoid using any insults when discussing public figures. We have zero tolerance for posts like that, and our moderators reserve the right to issue sanctions for anyone being particularly disrespectful..." I realize I’m being a bit lenient with how this rule is applied sometimes, but what this user is doing is just plain crossing the line. Driven by some kind of pathological hatred, they basically insult Trump in almost every other post... idiot..., Orange bullshit..., [No input provided to rewrite], What an absolute moron..., Orange idiots and morons...I... A racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, transphobic idiot with pseudo-intellectual pretensions...And he’s not even ashamed... Incitement to violence.... This user's filthy language is polluting this thread on a daily basis, and there hasn't been any moderation. I could pull a bunch of similar links if I really wanted to, but honestly, you only need to look at their post history in this thread to see the pattern—it’s just the same garbage over and over again...
Third point: In his obsession with hating the guy in the headline, he shouldn't be dragging anyone else into the mud just because they support Trump or any of his moves. He once went on a rant claiming that anyone voting for Trump is basically a "racist, a xenophobe, or a total jerk," then turned around and aimed those exact insults at half the people on this thread, concluding that none of us are "sane"... I can't believe people are still falling for this stuff. It’s the same old pattern, just different faces. They talk about change, they promise a better future, and then we end up right back where we started. Honestly, at this point, I'm just tired of the endless cycle of empty rhetoric... Some forum user recently went ahead and called another member "mentally insufficient." If the moderators are looking for proof, that specific post was number #1123 before they scrubbed it...
This particular user’s whole approach to the thread is just pure vitriol. They spend the entire time hurling insults left and right—whether they're targeting Trump, his supporters, or anyone else on this forum... He constantly calls his conversation partners names on a near-daily basis... to the fascists... And the racists...And honestly, they just endlessly troll and spam the thread. They try to crack these pathetic jokes and ramble about their own internal monologues that have nothing to do with the topic, all while using incredibly crude and vulgar language...
Every single one of his posts is pure filler, and he’s dropped nearly 600 of them in this thread alone. Nothing goes beyond a couple of sentences, and his go-to move is just constant vulgarity and spam. With a user like this running wild and zero moderation, having an actual, reasoned debate on this topic is impossible. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying everyone else here is perfect, but what this guy is doing is just insane. I've reported plenty of his recent posts—including most of those mentioned here—and it's clear the mods have actually noticed and wiped out a good chunk of them. But clearly, that hasn't solved anything. Everything listed in this post is just the stuff that managed to slip through the cracks; there were plenty of deleted posts that were just as bad, if not worse, filled with a ridiculous amount of spam. The real issue is that despite all the deletions, the guy hasn't been banned once recently, which anyone following this thread knows. It feels like deleting posts is just a way to sweep the mess under the rug. I have to ask the moderators who have been cleaning up after him: shouldn't someone who repeatedly breaks the rules by having dozens of posts scrubbed from a single thread face a much harsher penalty? Can this kind of behavior actually be reined in? And why isn't there a moderator active on this thread to keep things clean? Reports help occasionally, but any chance of a real discussion gets smothered by heavy trolling until a mod finally shows up...
nimbleranger52 said:There’s this massive debate going on right now in a Facebook group dedicated to life in Sweden. This guy starts asking about crime rates in Seattle or Chicago, and honestly, I don't even know. People are just throwing their own personal experiences at the wall to see what sticks. But get this—most of the Americans who have lived in Sweden for a long time all seem to be singing the exact same tune, claiming there isn't actually any unrest in Sweden at all; they're out here insisting those cars were torched by right-wing fascists, or rather, that they paid Arabs to set them on fire just so they could rack up more votes in the elections. The second you tell someone that there might be alternative news sources out there, they immediately jump down your throat and accuse you of lying.
Is the mentality in Sweden really so fragile that you aren't allowed to say a single negative thing about the country or point out the issues existing there?
If you ask me, the people over there are completely brainwashed.
I mean, seriously, with every single mess involving migrants, foreigners, or Swedes, they somehow find an excuse and pin the blame squarely on the right wing.
If that’s truly the state of mind over there, then that country is headed straight for disaster... Look, it’s perfectly fine to be positive and defend the good parts of Sweden. Of course you should! But you also have to accept the negative stuff. But this? Trying to say anything against refugees or Arabs is strictly forbidden, otherwise, you're instantly attacked. Check out this one comment from an American woman living over there:
"Oh my god, like mainstream media sources are the only things that matter, the people, and all that crap—it’s just a fascist war-mongering mob of garbage. Yeah, cars have been burned in Sweden, but not for the reasons those fascist paranoiacs claim. In Sweden, setting cars on fire has been an expression of revolt and dissatisfaction for years, and these recent ones in Chicago aren't anything new. Seriously, if you're all so terrified of everything, especially anything different, why on earth do you even leave your houses? Just stay where you are and stay quiet."
Which group is it? Send a link. 🤣
It's simple. People are subjected to massive media censorship, and it's common knowledge how hard it is for people to resist that. Just look at that statement—mass car burnings are considered "normal." I think that tells you everything you need to know.
frozenpuma69 said:And your little spin is pretty interesting too, I guess. You seem to know exactly why they're being called extremists—just because they want to manage migration. You're conveniently ignoring the whole long history of racist and nationalist incidents tied to this party, not to mention all those connections to neo-Nazism.
Just because they might have a ceiling doesn't mean they've actually hit it yet. When they eventually do, we'll see, but in most stable countries, that ceiling usually isn't high enough to let them be anything more than a junior coalition partner.
You weren't just talking about the Democratic Party; you were talking about parties across Europe in general, and their only common thread is anti-immigration policy. Go ahead, feel free to explain what you meant by "Extremists might be rising in normal countries"—who exactly are these rising extremists, and why are they considered extremists? I don't see an increase in extremism anywhere; I just see an increase in anti-immigration parties throughout Europe (or more accurately, parties advocating for border control and immigration management).

Fine, glad we could agree that this "ceiling" is purely your own invention and hasn't actually been proven anywhere in practice yet. As far as I'm concerned, there is no such thing as a "ceiling." Anti-immigration parties are effectively in power in half of Europe, and in the other half, they've become major second or third players that drastically shape national policy. Moving forward, those other countries will either reach a compromise on immigration—meaning actual border control—or they'll keep ignoring the issue until these parties inevitably take power...
frozenpuma69 said:Instead of trying to play prophet, you might find it more dignified to just sprinkle some ash on yourself, especially since you were just claiming the other day that Social Democratic voters are too scared to even admit who they voted for.
Who exactly is rising up against tyranny here? 😁 The exact same thing is playing out in the Netherlands, France, and Germany. Sure, extremists might be gaining ground in decent countries, but they usually hit a wall they can't cross. As long as the bulk of the conservatives and centrists keep acting like François Fillon or Angela Merkel rather than Sebastian Kurz, parties like the Social Democratic Party aren't going to see any real power. And I guess we shouldn't even count places like Italy or Greece, where finding a functioning political party is a struggle in itself.
It’s interesting how this media narrative works—convincing regular people that anyone who doesn't support unchecked immigration is an "extremist." If you can explain it in just a few simple sentences, why is border control considered extremism?
Secondly, can you give me even one example of a Western nation where anti-immigration parties (your so-called "extremists") haven't seen growth in two consecutive elections? That would actually prove there's some kind of ceiling. Four years ago, the Democratic Party was at 12%; now they're already at 18%. If this insanity continues, they'll hit 25% within four years. And it's funny how there are fewer and fewer "stable" countries left in the West. Not too long ago, you probably would have called Austria and Denmark orderly, normal countries. Today, they're just as messy as Italy, Canada, and Poland—basically half of the continent. Even in your "normal" countries, the anti-immigration parties are now among the most significant political forces, whereas ten or twenty years ago, they didn't even exist. It's amazing how fast the definition of "normal" shifts...😍
