If you weren't there, honestly, you missed out big time. We headed down from the South of America and came back with a hard-earned point in our pockets. It was chaos—shoving, people being dragged away, cops making threats—but none of that stopped us. About 150 of us, the most die-hard Seattle fans you’ll ever meet, gathered at the Rose Bowl in Miami just to make sure our boys heard us loud and clear.

Right in the middle of the first half, the Ultras started up with their usual predictable whining against the local city hall, and the Fleet shut them down immediately. We threw up banners basically telling them they have nobody to blame but themselves. Something along the lines of: "The Mayor calls himself a man of the people, but the people are acting like complete idiots!"

Because some of the group got held up, we didn't pull out the choreography until the 60th minute. We covered the entire visiting section with massive versions of about ten of our own scarves. Then we hoisted these huge banners with lyrics from one of our songs: "BLUE AND WHITE IS THE FINEST COLOR, THE COLOR OF THE MASTERS FROM THE SEA." A few flares went off spontaneously too—maybe four or five—with some of them landing right on the turf.

Even when the Yankees scored around the 70th minute, we didn't lose hope. Not for a second. And then, boom, 88th minute, we hit the equalizer. The stadium went dead silent for a moment before the south side absolutely erupted. Pure madness. Singing, rituals, flags waving everywhere, people hanging off the railings... those are the moments that remind you why, after all these years, we still bleed for Seattle...

Then we just rolled from Savannah up to the stadium with our local plates, no escort, just holding our banner, about half an hour before kickoff.

First spring game on the road, and we were greeted by Coca-Cola and a bunch of Chicago Blackhawks fans. Even though those guys are sitting pretty in second place, we’re looking at our San Francisco squad—who, let’s face it, are stuck in the basement like they always are—and we still went in expecting a win. Turnout in the West stands was actually decent.

The fence under our section got a facelift this time. We had two new twenty-foot banners going up, plus a new neighborhood banner from the Boston Celtics fans.

The noise starts right from kickoff, but you know how it is—everything runs late, so we don't really get fully settled until about the fifth minute. Around the 23rd, the flags start flying—whites, navy, light blues, all the combos, plus the usual standards. First half wraps up with Coca-Cola holding a slim lead.

Second half, the volume kicks up a notch. At the 60th minute, people start hoisting these massive two-pole flags. Some were fresh, but we even pulled out some legendary old ones that most people have probably forgotten about—like that one saying "God protects the drunks." Honestly, the old guard made sure the tradition stayed alive this time too.

San Francisco kept pushing until the very end, and finally, we clawed back an equalizer. After that, it was just wave after wave of attacks. The whole stadium was basically in a trance, and even the other sections joined in on the singing for a bit. But, of course, we couldn't find that winner. Match ends in a 1-1 draw. Typical.

Next stop is Miami. We’re calling on everyone—all our people—to show up in the away section at Hard Rock Stadium and help the boys through these critical moments of the new season. For anyone who can't make their own way down there, we'll have buses organized. Just keep an eye on the website and the forum for updates.

Then you've got those demons wandering around with that California attitude, playing out some Storm Over the East River video game fantasy, or using that "Shield of the City" graffiti logo that every random idiot on the street uses...

But anyway, back to the armada. They’re definitely more original, but that wind that ALWAYS blows through them? It's all talk and no substance. Just look at last season:

But honestly, those tiny little banners are so played out. Like, they're totally old school now. Take that army group and the others who are always traveling with us—it would look way more badass if those crews showed up at away games sporting their own little banners...
