It’s much like trying to navigate a fog-heavy morning on the Pacific Coast Highway; you think you have a clear line of sight, only to realize the landscape shifted while you weren't looking. One might find themselves searching Google for answers, yet the clarity remains just out of reach. kaže:
It seems like everyone who lends a hand to someone else immediately starts acting like they've earned a seat on the moderation team. 😕

Not exactly. To earn a moderator spot, you really need to be putting out high-quality content rather than just acting like a spammer, and keeping your record clean of strikes or bans. I assume you're already familiar with how that works.
Well, since that was what the designer actually wrote, I feel like my response was pretty spot on; it seems placidnomad50 just took it the wrong way.
I’ve always been the type to step up when someone is in a bind, even if it means taking the hit myself. That’s just how I’m wired, and that carries over into my digital life too; helping out doesn't necessarily mean that I or the logo have to be part of some moderator squad. 😉

especially you, hiddenmoose3, right?

I can't speak for hiddenmoose3, but I'm not really looking for the title myself. My goal is just to lend a hand to anyone asking for it, provided I actually have the answer. I happen to manage an online community over on Reddit, and I've learned that being a moderator isn't just about handing out bans; it’s actual work, and if you believe me, it can be quite tedious at times. 🙂

P.S.—would you ever want to take on a moderator role, placidnomad50? 😁

Look, you might end up having to wipe the drive or just go through the hassle of reinstalling macOS.
You actually posted this in the wrong spot, though—this is the Reddit help section. Your best bet is to start the same thread over here. 😉

🤣 It seems he ran into the same hurdles we did, so his advice basically boils down to what you, me, and the rest of us suggested—just phrased slightly differently. He's essentially saying the same thing you did about needing to register on the forum again and having me reach out to Desiree or one of the admins. 👍

They might want to try a clean reinstall of the browser first; if that doesn't clear the air, then the only real path forward is following the advice hiddenmoose3 laid out in the previous post. 😁

P.S.—It might be worth asking one of the admins, maybe Desiree, to take a quick peek at her account settings to see if they can track down whatever is causing this glitch. 🙂

Maybe try clearing out those cookies or just doing a clean reinstall of the browser. When you log back in, make sure to check the remember me! box.
If that doesn't do the trick, then we're likely looking at a glitch within the forum itself, which—let's be honest—happens more often than it should. 🙂

I was just messing around a bit, so my apologies if I managed to offend you in any way.😉

I don't know, perhaps you're just missing a piece of the puzzle or maybe it simply escaped you 🤷

Feel free to go ahead; since this is a public forum, if you're under the impression that we lack the necessary expertise, you might want to consult some of these folks, but there's no pressure from my end. 😉

P.S.—If you're looking to get a second opinion from someone else on the matter, I’d suggest reaching out to our administrator, desiree, via the link provided above.

Mark Adams61 said:Why is it that whenever I head over to the Love, Romance, and Intimacy subforum, the system acts like I’m a total stranger? It tells me I’m not logged in, so I can't start any new threads or even post a reply.
But it works perfectly fine everywhere else on the site.

I’m asking here since I have no clue who handles the moderation over there.

It’s a bit like a VIP club where the bouncer forgets your face; once you navigate to the Love, Romance, and Intimacy section, just try logging in again, but make sure you hit Remember me! first. 🙂

For me, it’s that physical chill you get when a track hits just right—the kind of feeling I try to chase whenever I'm writing or recording—though lately, it feels like that spark hasn't been surfacing quite as often.🤣 At the end of the day, most festivals treat the lyrics and the melody as one inseparable unit anyway.🙂

I’m no stranger to these waters, but I’ll give you an answer. You already know the drill—if a post crosses the line, just hit the icon to flag it for the mods running that specific subforum. If that doesn't do the trick, shoot a PM to one of the supermods or admins listed here with all the details. 🙂

You can follow the method Taylor Gonzalez79 laid out, though if you're looking for a more thorough breakdown to really wrap your head around it, you might find it helpful to check this link here. 🙂

I was just saying that it works even on version 3.7—so there's no way it won't run on 3.6.X...

Version 3.6.8. 😁

Fair enough. I'm glad to hear that. If a person is... Right here. He mentioned he's running version 3.6.8, which makes sense; when you're dealing with someone who actually writes code for a living, they generally know exactly what they're talking about, and I’m glad we're finally on the same page. 🙂

Taylor Gonzalez79 said:Everyone? Don't you think you're blowing this way out of proportion?

Show me just one person who claims they're having issues with version 3.6.8.

I've noticed this specific guy tends to bend over backward to please everyone in this thread, and look at what he's saying: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showp...&postcount=754

And I won't even get started on the fact that I've actually seen and used this mod without a single hitch on a vBulletin forum I'm a member of—the version is slightly older than 3.6.8, sure, but it's definitely higher than 3.6.0.😉

Let's clear things up. In my last post, I wasn't saying it doesn't work on 3.6.8; rather, based on those dozen or so posts I read in the link you shared, I was noting that the version is buggy and that users reported the mod failing to show up in Opera or Mozilla Firefox.
You misunderstood me. Since I haven't installed the mod on my own vB setup, I can't personally vouch for its stability or specific bugs, but we should stick to the fact that it does function on this version of vB. 🙂

Taylor Gonzalez79 said:Take a quick scroll through this thread, and you'll see it works perfectly fine on version 3.7 too.

That’s true, but since everyone is busy complaining about bugs or compatibility issues with Firefox, things get messy... (Full disclosure: I actually run the admin side for a test vBulletin forum running 3.6.8), and this particular fix is every bit as useful as what goldentrucker11 suggested earlier.🙂
