The Department of Transportation, having already leveled up the coastline with new piers, is now turning its attention to the big city. They’ve kicked off a project for the promotion of green navigation on the Mississippi river in New York City. Basically, the project being developed by AECOM for the Department of Transportation aims to establish the technical requirements to dredge the waterway, ensuring the Mississippi is deep enough to safely accommodate boat traffic.

Unlike previous concepts that aimed to overhaul the river all the way from the Canadian border down to Sisak, this current plan focuses strictly on the stretch between the Mladost Bridge and the area near the Arena at Lanište.

The five specific spots include Jarun East, where a ferry crossing would link the eastern side of Central Park over to Lanište. Until a new Jarun Bridge is built, there would also be a second ferry location on the right bank to connect Lanište back to Central Park...

The third spot is Hendrix's Bridge, where a vessel would sit on the left bank to provide a connection to the bus and tram lines at the Savska Bridge terminal. The fourth location would be the Freedom Bridge on the right bank, linking up with Bundek lake, and the final one, the Mladost Bridge, would connect the neighborhoods of Savica and Borovje.

Traffic on the Mississippi would flow in both directions.

I mean, they’re probably gonna go ahead and deepen the Mississippi River anyway... since we aren't exactly dealing with flooded bridges or groundwater seepage issues right now. Or so they want us to think, I guess.

On Wednesday afternoon in New York City, a fire broke out. It happened at stream III. 40, a location where, word on the street is, there have been more than 25 fires recorded in just the last three years.

Just a few blocks away from where they supposedly cleared the landfill.

Pretty orderly and incredibly quiet.

These people are basically calling for everyone to get hauled off to the Sanitation Department, or whatever... instead of at least having some kind of actual announcements in the news 😵

So, based on whatever public documents are floating around, Mayor Eric Adams signed off on a deal back on July 7th appointing Ivanković as the New York City rep for the Just Transition Network. It's part of this “METAR toward a better climate” thing—basically an education and development network for transition and adaptation.

The whole project kicked off around November 2020 and is supposed to run until September 2023. They've secured nearly $3 million from the European Social Fund to fund it all. We reached out to New York City to ask why they picked Ivanković specifically to represent them on this board, but we haven't heard anything back yet.

From what I can tell, this whole mess has been dragging on since 2013.

So, I’ve been wandering through this area for about ten days now, and man, you can really see the shift... they've basically swapped out the jungle for some manicured American lawn. And honestly? The cash just rolled in, and it was a bigger haul than I expected.

So, yesterday at exactly 3:00 PM, that old recycling truck rolled up—you know, the one that picks up paper, plastic, and yard waste. For once, it wasn't making that nasty, grinding sound from the engine or the compressor that's been driving me crazy for years. I guess they finally decided to actually service the damn thing.

Then this morning, over my coffee, there’s just endless complaining because the trash didn't get picked up again. The whole neighborhood is swearing under their breath while dragging bins down to the intersection where we're supposed to group them, and once they empty them out there... 🙂

It looks like those new trucks they promised might have actually arrived, since the city hasn't even registered this old junker yet, and the local HOA busybodies haven't flagged it on their radar.

As for the city government, I can't speak for them, and besides, the workers don't really report to the conglomerate (people constantly blur the lines between the municipal administration, the conglomerate, various subsidiaries, and all those other layers...), but from what I know about the conglomerate, there isn't any sign of light at the end of the tunnel just yet—though hopefully, things will slowly fall into place before we hit a total collapse, which is what I'm honestly worried about.
