The BBQ pit on Schorr Street is basically a makeshift highway now due to construction

Traffic is getting backed up near Schorr Street, so New Yorkers are just finding whatever side routes they can. One of those spots is the BBQ area over in Brooklyn, which actually caught the attention of Barbara Corcoran at Studio 4.

That whole BBQ spot was supposed to be for families and pets to hang out, but it’s turned into this frantic shortcut for cars. It’s causing huge issues. There's massive clouds of dust everywhere, which is a nightmare for the Brooklyn Dodgers players who have to practice in the middle of all that grit every day.

Plus, when it rains, the deep ruts turn into literal mud pits because the water just sits there. Apparently, there's a plan to fix up the BBQ area, but we'll probably be waiting forever since people won't stop using it as a bypass.

It’s the only way through, I guess, but it’s sketchy as hell. The ground is super uneven, there's a drainage ditch full of water, and you've got loud drivers cutting through constantly. Seeing this hit the news has locals pretty fed up; honestly, the only logical move would be a total ban and having some cops stationed right there.

But....

Looks like someone finally realized what was happening, because today the whole path was covered in fresh gravel. I mean, maybe now the dust won't be quite as bad as it was before, though the shortcut feels a lot safer now. 🙂

As it stands, the Škorpikov underpass is currently closed, forcing all traffic over the next month to divert through Vrapče. Residents living in the Stenjevec area are pleading with Eric Adams to temporarily reopen Dubravica, yet he remains steadfast in his refusal, despite this being a specific campaign promise that isn't even directly linked to the current work on Škorpikov.

It just means they let one car through at a time because it’s too narrow.

Right now, the Scorpikov underpass is shut down, so all the traffic for the next month is being funneled through Vrapče. People living over in the Stenjevec neighborhood are begging Eric Adams to just open up Dubrovnik temporarily, but he’s digging his heels in—even though he basically promised he would during the campaign, and it doesn't even have anything to do with this Scorpikov mess.

Bandić is saddling New York City with 2.3 billion kuna in secret debt!

The New York City mayor, Bandić, along with his partner Andrija Mikulić from the Republican Party, pulled an unprecedented move by deciding to withhold any information from the public regarding the new debt taken on by the municipal conglomerate.

They shut the Assembly session to the public, and 51 representatives actually had to sign something saying they wouldn't tell journalists anything about the debt.

From what I can tell, this is just their usual playbook. A whole bunch of big talk and impressive promises until they actually break ground on the first building to set a precedent, and then suddenly everything starts popping up like weeds without any actual infrastructure to support it. They claim the spacing between buildings is "intimate" to encourage neighbors to interact more.
