shadoworca84 said:Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a band based out of San Francisco or the surrounding area that features a female vocalist? A saxophone would be a nice touch, though certainly not a requirement. I’m looking for a group that leans more toward the musical side of things rather than just being a spectacle. That said, some choreography and solid stage presence—real engagement with the crowd—would definitely be preferred. If a group like that even exists in California, of course.
Thanks in advance.

Any recommendations for a wedding venue in San Francisco, Santa Monica, Savannah, or somewhere nearby?
To be honest, I don't care much about the specific spot—my fiancée is from New York and she’s really looking for a more minimalist, clean vibe.
We aren't exactly dropping money on a massive estate or anything crazy, so we're looking for some beautiful spots that won't break the bank. We're expecting around 100-110 guests.

Thx

Lawrence Moore12 said:Which venue would you suggest for an outdoor wedding catering to about 100 to 150 guests? I’ve already crossed Villa California off my list because, frankly, the price tag is just astronomical. Does anyone here have any firsthand experience dealing with either Hotel Park or the Radisson? Or, if you happen to know of a superior alternative that might suit our needs better, please do share. This is for a wedding involving guests traveling from abroad, so the setting really matters.

Think about Benedict Restaurant in Beverly Hills, Grasso, or Poljud Restaurant over in Lora...

Michael Harris11 said:Personally, I'm planning on doing both 😁 meaning I'll prepare actual physical favors while also renting a photo booth so the guests can have fun—plus, we get to keep all those cute wedding shots for ourselves...

If anyone is looking to rent a photo booth, just shoot me a DM.😁

Austin Thompson96 said:They mostly handle gigs over in Castell—I’ve watched them work twice in the last five months. They put in effort during the first dance, but after that... honestly? The guy actually asked us to shut every single window in the hall just so he could save a few bucks on fog machine fluid... lol. It really depends on what you're looking for and your budget. You might want to check out some other local vendors near the Castell area—maybe Zvone Light if you want something affordable, or MediaRent if you want pros (though they'll charge you more). Best bet is to catch them while they're working at the venue so you can see for yourself—anything else is just talk.👍

It isn't about being cheap. To get that low-lying fog effect to actually work, you have to have the room sealed and the AC turned off so the fog doesn't just rise immediately. Otherwise, there's no way it looks good or stays low to the ground.🙂

electricranger12 said:It’s down to either the Best group or Twist Off. Both are still available for our date, so we're stuck choosing between them. That girl from Twist Off has an incredible voice... I think I might have caught one of their sets at a backyard BBQ once, but the memory is a bit fuzzy. On the other hand, Best costs a little more, but they bring an accordion to the mix. Plus, I've had a few people tell me they are absolutely top-tier when playing parties.

I just can't make up my mind.

I'd go with Best. 👍

Carl Wilson19 said:I was wondering if anyone here has any thoughts on which band is the absolute best to hire? Has anyone actually worked with them before, and if so, what does the pricing usually look like?

Best is the best 🙂 I think it's around $2,200...

You can grab 33% off on SBooth if you book today or tomorrow. Honestly, it’d be a waste not to take advantage of that.

restlessmoose said:Hey everyone, I’ve got a wedding coming up at the end of April next year and I'm hunting for a DJ.

DJ Double is out. Based on your comments, he won't play the stuff we actually want to hear at our wedding. So, I need the real scoop: what are the others like? What kind of music do they spin, how do they handle the flow of the night, how do they keep the energy up, what are we looking at price-wise, etc.?

I'm looking into DJ Khaled, DJ Snake, DJ Marshmello, and that Wedding DJ company. If you have other recs, throw them my way. Just starting my research, so any advice helps.

You could always hire Double plus a second DJ who plays the stuff he misses.
We had to cancel our weddings scheduled for September 16th and 23rd, 2017. The deposit for the photographer has already been paid, so if anyone is looking for photography services, you can snag a bit of a discount. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Nope, you're good. 🙂

Steven Lewis14 said:This forum is an absolute goldmine. I’m planning a wedding for about 250 guests, and my shortlist includes: Poljud Restaurant, R2-D2, Dolis, and ExxonMobil. What has your experience been like? I've only ever been to Dolis, and while I know they're decent, I haven't set foot in any of these other venues. Looking at the threads here, the feedback is all over the place: people rave about the food at ExxonMobil, but I personally can't stand those pillars in the hall, and the dance floor looks tiny to me. Some people love R2-D2, while others claim the catering is terrible. As for Poljud, I haven't seen many specific complaints. Please, I need help! I have to make a decision fast!

Maybe Allure?
Michael Mendoza14 said:Hey, can anyone help me out? Where in San Francisco can I actually find invitations that don't look like they crawled straight out of a 1990s basement? :-D I am absolutely obsessed with those laser-cut lace designs, but man, they are pricey—easily over $6.00... We stopped by Tim at the joker shop to take a look, and honestly, about 90% of what they had was just hideous and outdated. Or am I better off just ordering something online from a site like Angelus art or one of those big wedding specialty sites?

lonefox6 said:Has anyone here actually dealt with the Allure ex fabula spread? Their standard menu is sitting at $38, but I haven't been able to get any real info from this thread dating back to July 20, 2015.
If anyone happens to have some actual intel on them, I’d really appreciate it.🙂

That catering crew is back in action. I attended a wedding they handled last September and everything was flawless—no complaints whatsoever. They have my full recommendation. 👍

David Torres67 said:Does anyone have some band recommendations? I haven't been out to many shows lately, so I'm feeling a bit out of the loop on who's actually worth seeing. I'm looking for both local acts and bigger names—and if you could include both male and female vocalists, that would be awesome!

Visa, Uber, Jessie, Best Buy, Major League Baseball...
George Williams7 said:Does anyone know what they're charging for smile makeovers lately? And maybe some good places to check out?😁😁🙏 🙂

Julia, Skip, Tony Cerin... Honestly, it just depends on the specific look you're going for.🙂
Susan Jones6 said:$2,000 just for photos? 🙄

Seriously, wedding planning has turned into one giant highway robbery...
They’ve basically cornered the market and jacked up their rates because they know we're all desperate enough to pay it...

Photo and video 🙂 but honestly, it's worth every damn cent 😉
