Luck needs to be on my side... in Spirituality ·
That’s a nice way of putting it, but honestly, even then, I can't quite wrap my head around certain things. It isn't about trying to "justify" the bad stuff, which... well, sometimes it just drags us down so far, stalls our progress, and drains us until we're completely spent. We end up stuck, often burying ourselves under our own misery, unable to claw our way back out. And that's just how it goes. Some people stay buried forever. Unfortunately, I’m not much of a believer, and I struggle to make sense of those kinds of interpretations. I guess I just don't have the capacity to look at the big picture like that, or maybe the heavens haven't opened up enough for me to see things from a spiritual perspective... Sometimes, I actually envy people who still hold onto that kind of hope.😢

Deep contemplation didn't cut it. Neither did wonder, nor any of those little rituals—new moons, voodoo dolls, "manifesting" positive vibes, or endlessly tweaking my methods, tactics, and strategies. I managed to see certain things coming, which kept me from making massive blunders and helped me dodge some pain, but that didn't protect me from the stuff I couldn't possibly have foreseen. Every single time, I ended up paying the price for those experiences, more or less, but it was worth it... at least I learned how to observe and actually make decisions.😁

Now, when it comes to money, unexpected windfalls, or those much-desired strokes of luck, nothing has ever just fallen into my lap. Fate always seemed to take a wide detour around me; I couldn't catch it if I tried, and it wasn't even in my line of sight. That little devil knew I’d probably try to tackle him head-on if he were any closer.🙂

Rearranging my life according to Feng Shui didn't help either—moving things around, balancing elements like water, wood, or metal, trying north or south, front or back... none of it worked. Even pinning up vision boards of my goals failed to spark anything.🙂

As for everything I've gained or achieved, I mostly looked out for myself. Sometimes it was through being decent enough that people felt inclined to help, and other times I had to work myself to the bone just to secure the bare essentials.

The people I've met who stepped in to help without being asked—driven purely by their own kindness and consideration—those are the only things I truly feel are gifts from above. In my mind, that's the only thing worth calling "luck." If that's the case, I think I'm a very lucky person.

But as for winning the Powerball, hitting the jackpot, or any of that big-money stuff? No amount of shamanic wisdom or expert witchcraft is going to help there. The Fates dealt me a pretty harsh hand right from birth. 🤷☕

Oh, right. I actually dragged myself out of my cozy bed and now I'm just wandering around the kitchen...😁

By the way, did you actually clear out your first chakra, or at least disinfect it? Dennis Collins38 seemed to notice. You really should look after your health, you know... ☕

Seriously, did everyone just get high and go sanitize their chakras or something? Not a single living soul here to actually have a real conversation... 😕

The whole cult surrounding Elijah the Thunderer actually traces back to Old Slavic roots, specifically centered on Perun. Basically, Elijah is just a Christianized version of Perun...🙂

Is this part of some election campaign or something???

Because I honestly can't figure out why you insist on posting about spirituality when your whole focus seems to be politics first.

I have no idea where you get these wild ideas from...😕 like imagining my dead neighbor is hanging from a lamppost clutching my wallet?🤣 And then adding: "this is your future candidate for a seat in the local party office. vote for a comfortable lifestyle."😂😂

By the way, I haven't heard of our political geniuses actually worrying about chakras or mental transcendence.

Unless you're thinking of that time I spoke up at the textbook launch, or that protest where I argued child support should automatically be garnished from income—which is how everyone noticed my involvement with the single parents association?🤷🥳

Anyway, enough jokes. I think this post is completely off-topic. Second, it's just not true. Third, publicly speculating about someone's private life—even if it isn't mine—just isn't right. Thanks for understanding... cheers from the old lady who has zero interest in being public about politics. Besides, I deal with it every day through my pathetic paycheck...

I guess you might realize that all those emotions and traits you're attributing to "chakras" are actually just the result of biochemical
processes triggered by various stimuli, and they don't really reside or activate in those specific areas?

Cannabis is a stimulant rather than a depressant, and I suppose cannabinoids and endocannabinoids don't have a "destructive" role in the body
but more of a modular one.

P.S. Chocolate also happens to activate cannabinoid receptors, if that helps.

Speaking of chocolate, I can think of plenty of pleasant side effects...😍

I didn't "contribute" anything to chakras; Ayurvedic medicine explains chakra function in exactly that way, and I simply connected the dots with scientific facts. Or did you expect me to submit a full dissertation on the limbic system?

Or maybe I should have lectured on how activating CB receptors inhibits adenylate cyclase, which in turn inhibits cAMP production via the conversion of ATP, or discussed how endocannabinoids act as neurotransmitters and neuromodulators. Given the dopamine release, you could call it a stimulant or a sympathomimetic, though ultimately motor skills slow down, tenacity increases, and vigilance stays high without any control mechanisms... besides delusions, you get short-term memory impairment due to the effect on the hippocampus, and with chronic use, neuronal degradation...

In higher doses, it reduces the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and proteins. In smaller doses, there's clear stimulation of both cellular and humoral immunity, which is why it's used to treat certain ailments.

There are medications approved for use with strictly defined concentrations of active components, dosed just like any other prescription drug (like Dronabinol, for instance). They are taken in individualized daily doses, just like antibiotics, analgesics, or any other generic meds.

By acting on CB1 receptors in the brain and peripheral nerves, you achieve a psychotropic effect, while targeting CB2 receptors on macrophages and other immune cells helps suppress autoimmune responses in certain conditions. This helps reduce pain and other symptoms. But those are medicines containing precise amounts of a component per dose. If you're taking THC directly from a plant or from standard preparations that always contain some percentage of CBD, you're basically making a mess of things. You see, CBD is a weak antagonist of CB1 receptors and reduces the effects of THC, essentially suppressing its subjective and physical impacts.

By the way, the description of how chakras work is largely adapted from Kezely. I consider him a fairly legitimate authority in that field...😁

How on earth did you manage to squeeze so many conclusions out of just a few sentences that don't even imply half of what you're claiming? I really don't get the urge to try and sway his convictions... I mean, was that even what he was asking for in the first place?...
Yeah, I honestly don't see the point of you leaving comments like that either... 😕 So, we’re essentially just trading perspectives here. It’s all about how different chemicals mess with the body's natural flow—and by extension, the chakras. Everyone’s got their own take on it... personally, based on some research and my own experiences, I’d say it’s pretty detrimental to the energy centers, specifically the third eye and the crown. The thing is, THC mostly targets the central nervous system directly, while its impact on other organic systems is usually more indirect, acting through the CNS. All those peripheral symptoms people talk about—the dilated blood vessels, the racing heart, the way blood pressure drops and then just fluctuates wildly—those are actually secondary issues compared to the neurological stuff. So, basically...

The first chakra—and I’m only talking about the main ones here, since there are more than seven of them...—is located right at the base of the spine. It essentially represents our connection to the group we live in, acting as the anchor for that sense of belonging and shared identity. Though, if we're being objective about what's actually physically sitting in that area, it's just the sigmoid colon. So, any real sensation you get down there will likely just be some digestive backup, which, let's be honest, isn't exactly the most stimulating way to kickstart your social life...

The second chakra sits around the pelvic area and just above the reproductive organs... it’s essentially the hub for creative energy and how we connect with the people and environment around us. Because of the way we're wired anatomically, you might feel some pleasant fluttering there—mostly due to vasodilation, obviously—but I can't say for sure how much that actually syncs up with male libido when their brain is basically hovering somewhere over the Rose Bowl... if the mind is that far away, it’s hardly close to the sacral center, is it?

The third one sits right in the anatomical projection of the solar plexus—that massive nerve cluster that services all the abdominal and some thoracic organs. It’s situated in that same general area where you've got the stomach sitting more toward the front, right near the pancreatic duct, the gallbladder, and the start of the small intestine. Basically, it's a hub for all the vital organs... This center creates a balance of personal power, character strength, and willpower, though it can sometimes veer into being overly authoritative, power-hungry, or even just plain egotistical. But honestly, that "strong will" isn't going to mean much if my stomach is doing somersaults, especially if my whole system feels sluggish from smoking... Cannabis acts as a depressant, after all...

The fourth chakra sits right in the center of your chest. It’s essentially the anchor for the whole spiritual energy system, acting as that main balancing point between all the upper and lower chakras. When things are flowing right, it promotes this deep sense of inner peace... but if you get out of alignment, you start dealing with jealousy, bitterness, and just an overall inability to forgive people. Though, I suppose if my heart rate is skipping beats—sometimes too slow, sometimes too fast—and my breathing feels totally erratic because my phrenic and vagus nerves aren't cooperating, my heart is going to be pretty confused. And honestly, in that state, achieving any kind of meaningful inner peace feels like a bit of a stretch...

The throat is essentially the crossroads of the body. It’s where everything converges—respiration, digestion, and that critical intersection of major blood vessels like the carotid arteries, not to mention the thyroid, which acts as your primary energy regulator. If anything disrupts that delicate equilibrium right there at the center of your system, the fallout can be pretty significant... You might find yourself second-guessing every decision, feeling unstable, jittery, or just plain impatient. And if the brain doesn't get exactly what it needs because the balance is off, the consequences could get much more serious than just a bad mood...

The sixth chakra sits right there in the center of your forehead—it’s supposed to be the hub for intuition, inspiration, and those clear visions that expand your whole perspective. But if you end up with all that unnecessary blood rushing to that area... you know, when your eyes get red and your face flushes from overdoing it... I wouldn't exactly bet on you having a clear head. It’s not necessarily that your physical senses go dull, but your mental clarity definitely takes a hit. You just end up stuck in this loop of intense escapism, feeling crushed by illusions and chasing after visions that aren't even real...

The seventh chakra sits right at the crown. It’s what links our very existence to the absolute reality of everything, pulling us into this total oneness with the cosmos. Of course, from a purely biological standpoint, you've got the meeting point of the frontal, parietal, and temporal lobes up there, all tied together by those deep associative pathways that weave the entire CNS into one single, conscious human being. If some outside force comes along and messes with that balance, though... well, you'll see. You'll deal with fear, this crushing sense of isolation, feeling totally detached from everything. Sometimes it hits you as pure depression or paranoia, or maybe you just become an absolute stickler for the tiniest, most insignificant details. It's quite a beautiful way to be connected to the universe, really 🤣

(this graphic might not be as high-fidelity as others out there, but it illustrates how the chakras relate to anatomy)

Anyway, I'm heading off to grab some dinner.

If you’re just blowing smoke recreationally without any aim, it probably won't do much for you—just like anything else taken to an extreme, except maybe love. 🙂
Sometimes, getting high shouldn't even be about the "effect." It could just be... nothing. You could even try meditating while under the influence; some people find that hits different, others hate it.

Also, a quick word of advice: don't buy into the ego of people who act like they've mastered the universe and spirituality. They aren't the arbiters of what's "objectively" true, especially when they're being condescending about it.
Peace!

Yeah, honestly... it feels to me like this whole glorification of psychotropic substances—ignoring the actual downsides or the very real risk of losing control—is just pure hype. This unobjective worship of "expanding your mind" strikes me as pretty biased and, frankly, a bit patronizing. 🤣

Peter Phillips32 said:It’s not necessarily tragic, nor does it mean someone is sick—and even if they are, that isn't inherently bad. It doesn't mean Cannabis is a gateway drug, or that it causes addiction, or that using it inevitably leads to some massive downward spiral where a person loses their mind and becomes incapable of handling basic everyday life.
So what happens then? Then he realizes his brain muscles have basically gone on vacation and all those little "enhancers" didn't do a damn thing to help them grow. Sometimes, you lose the ability to even realize it's happening.🤷

What kind of "average person with a child's brain" are you talking about here, and what exactly is your problem with it?
Does he feel so weak, helpless, and incompetent that he absolutely requires chemistry to function? Is his brain truly incapable of creating something on its own? Does he genuinely view himself as some sort of handicapped orphan from birth, unable to do what he wants due to "natural" limitations, requiring a constant external prosthesis or a flywheel to keep moving? 😕 Ugh, man, that sounds like a miserable way to live. 🤣🤣

I guess if it isn't minimalist or (artificially) "natural," it’s automatically garbage, right? If we use (natural) resources that actually contribute to something—even an improvement—then why is that considered wrong? Is it because of demonizing propaganda, pure ignorance, or just that "only-natural-is-good" kind of elitism where people get to decide what counts as natural?

It’s not quite this, nor that, nor even particularly necessary... but based on how you're acting, you're just drifting through a haze. Either you're nodding off, or you're lost in some daydream, and then you end up hungry and even more exhausted, looking like you've been staring at nothing for hours... I haven't heard of a single local consumer around here ever producing a masterpiece that actually made its way into the annals of American history, let alone the global cultural, artistic, or scientific heritage. It’s a great way to distance yourself from reality, I suppose. Though, most people never really find their way back...

So, what’s the deal with smoking when you aren't even sick? Is this supposed to be some kind of preventative measure? I mean, when it comes to medical use, there are very specific, measured doses of active ingredients for a reason... but with this random stuff floating around, you never really know if you're strong enough to handle it without getting stuck. I know plenty of people who thought they were fine, only to end up completely bogged down. Then they start craving something even stronger. It usually ends with them finding "enlightenment" in the form of dropping out of school, letting their responsibilities slide, and spending every waking hour chasing the next high... though I suppose a few others managed to use it for recreation and actually kept their lives together. Still...

You never really know... you never truly know if you’re strong enough to just stick to the occasional recreational use. If you actually believe you have that kind of willpower, then what's the point of all those flavor enhancers, colors, and scents? Some kind of reality e-beautifier or whatever... can you even stand them?🤷

Oh boy... 😂😂😂

I honestly can't believe our once-virtuous little community leader has turned into such a vocal advocate for magic herbs 🤣

But seriously, what if everyone in the tribe had just taken a few hits of those little berries 🙄? Who would have been there to welcome the brave warrior, patch up his wounds, swat the flies away from his skin, and carve up a feast for him to snack on? And then, they’d all be prostrate on the ground, totally swooning before the hero of the age. See, it was all thanks to those little berries that the hero became a legend... ☕

without believing in your own strength, you’re basically going nowhere

People crave power. They convince themselves they need some external Force just to exist or create anything of value.

And it’s honestly pathetic... instead of digging deep to find that drive within themselves, they go hunting for it in incense, tea blends, or some magical dust. 🤣 It’s like they’ve convinced themselves they’re fundamentally broken, so they start reaching for these mental crutches—grabbing whatever fancy, jewel-encrusted support they can find to lean on. They get so used to those artificial stabilizers that their actual natural ability just withers away. All it takes is a patch of black ice or a slick hardwood floor to send the whole thing crashing down like a cheap vase.

And then what? Then they realize their mental muscles have completely atrophied and all those little shortcuts didn't actually build any real strength. Sometimes, they don't even have the capacity to realize it anymore. 🤷

Do they really feel that weak, that helpless, that incapable that they need chemical intervention? Is their brain truly unable to produce something on its own? It’s almost as if they’ve viewed themselves as some sort of disadvantaged underdog since birth, deciding that due to "natural reasons," they can't achieve their goals without a constant external prosthesis or a flywheel to keep them spinning. 😕 Ugh, I imagine that’s a pretty miserable way to live... 🤣🤣

Larry Wilson5 said:It slows down the journey to any meaningful experience, I guess.
The illusion of achieving a "fire" state comes from triggering and burning through your chakras—those energy or fire centers—using borrowed power from cannabis. Whatever you experience, you won't be able to stay there. You probably won't even dream again.
Burnt-out centers mean impaired perception, poor access, and a lack of environmental awareness. The ego becomes its own universe; it grows heavy, like a tank with a sputtering engine.
Someone once said it’s shameful to burn your own internal fires just to inflate the ego. That’s the gist of it.
By the way, the out-of-body experience you're thinking of is extra-physical. Chakras connect all bodies...

That was beautifully put. There's really no need to inflate the ego or try to turn a human being into some supernatural monster or a Frankenstein creature. It should be enough to nurture your own energy through sheer effort and hard work, so that in return, you can fully develop and refine your true self. That's the only way we actually stay grounded...

I mean, Huxley could have written *Brave New World* without any substances—he was just born a Huxley. Similarly, Freud probably would have stumbled upon his theories without whatever he was using, and Marley would have been singing and playing regardless of the smoke, simply because he was Marley. Maybe we should all just try to tap into our own internal systems and focus on our own mental centers to find ourselves, instead of relying on outside help. It's like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole... it just doesn't work...🤣

Lisa Morales4 said:I was chatting with iGod earlier and found out that cannabis can really open everything up—your senses, your chakras, all of it—but it comes with this heavy sensation, almost like a millstone around your neck. It’s this weird feeling where you think you’re reaching out to someone, but you’re actually just imagining it while your hands are tied and your feet are tangled. Honestly, that whole sensation makes me feel sick. It feels so fake... just when you think you've finally found some freedom, you suddenly snap and fall straight into an abyss. Personally, I’d much rather deal with being manic or hypo than feeling this disconnected and split between visions that might not even be mine. 🤷

exactly. A person carries so many latent possibilities within them; genetic conditioning provides the foundation for brain development and everything else we have at our disposal. But if we don't exercise that, if we don't put in the actual work, there's no progress. We won't learn or realize anything if we don't push ourselves to engage our own strength, to accept and incorporate what the environment offers us. All those beautiful external stimuli will just echo nothing inside us. It's through repetition, practice, thinking, and feeling that we gradually develop and enrich ourselves. And that stays with us forever (well, unless Mr. Alzheimer or old lady dementia hits us first, then maybe not for long 😁). From there, we can move forward...

External chemical stimulants, whether natural or synthetic, are currently going to create some unusual, unnatural connections in our brains, resulting in equally strange effects. It simply means our organism isn't shaped—genetically or environmentally—to be capable of doing those things on its own.

Biologically speaking, if you let a chimpanzee get drunk, both he and his entire troop would end up in a leopard's jaws pretty quickly. And if cavemen had spent their time chewing on piles of tasty hallucinogenic leaves, I suspect we’d still be living under the rule of some great tribal mother cult today 🤣

So, you have these incredible visions, you feel amazing, you get the impression you're capable of creating grand works of art or science, and you drift through social and existential realities like you're sailing on clouds 🙄 and that lasts only as long as you have that chemistry in your system. After that...

Look at the little fruit after the rain:
It's full of drops, swaying in the breeze.
And it glistens, bathed in the sunlight,
The wonderful splendor of its branches.

But once the sun hides away just a bit,
All that magic vanishes.
She is again, just as she was at first,
An ordinary, somewhat pathetic little tree.

Dennis Moore4 said:Spirit governs matter; matter doesn't govern matter.

Matter isn't evil by its own nature—it's about how it’s being handled.

And there are plenty of different ways to handle things...
That's where both good and evil are born within the spiritual realm.

I can't quite reach those beautiful, poetic heights you all seem to be exchanging; maybe I haven't lived enough, read enough, or learned enough... and naturally, I haven't attained that kind of spiritual breadth yet...

But free will is precisely what sets us apart from other creatures (at least most of them, within the scope of the natural events we've observed so far). Everything we experience—our upbringing, the suggestions from people around us, the conclusions we draw by observing our surroundings, our education, recommendations, prohibitions or dogmas, emotional coloring, memories of past events, and even those things we haven't yet consciously recognized as clear thoughts or feelings that we carry inside...

All of this leads us to a single "realization," which can be foggy at times or sharply defined. It's the baseline we use when we need to decide something, act, write, or take a "stand" and behave according to the situation...

Is that "stand" merely the result of environmental influences and our genetically determined capacities—our talents or perhaps even hard-won enlightenments? We are always being guided toward what we know. Some people simply surrender and do exactly what they were taught by others, without using any part of themselves. They don't stop to think if it's good, reasonable, or useful... (you could list causes and effects indefinitely). Often, we think we know exactly what to do, so we just do it. Is that choice driven by vanity, desire, intention, knowledge, or experience? Again, it comes down to the individual and how others perceive them. Some just lack the courage (due to who knows what kind of setbacks, ignorance, or simply never being taught how to decide and act independently, following their own conscience and judgment)...

Sometimes decisions are just incredibly heavy. When you're choosing between two evils, you just hope you pick the one that does the least damage...

Unfortunately, that's often our reality. Now, the question becomes one of freedom.

The personal freedom of decision-making that rests on autonomy, individuality, and the personal courage to not clash with our surroundings, even when we believe we are right.

They say mature adults should be capable of making their own decisions.
But who among us is truly grown up? Who has risen above this tiny little universe, whose internal mechanisms have fully matured to the point where they can decide entirely on their own, without outside influence? Who doesn't still carry within them the memory of a little boy who realizes he understands nothing at all, and that there is still so much more to learn while everyone else seems to already know it? Does that little boy, peering out from his deeply hidden hiding spot, have the right to stay small, or is he obligated to grow up?

I suppose everyone eventually gets the chance for that little boy to become a real man. Well, he doesn't necessarily need to be six-foot-four and two hundred pounds like our star players on the NBA roster😍
and he shouldn't have the right to keep hiding behind the curtain anymore.

Free will and the freedom to act are offered to all of us (please, let's not get bogged down in philosophical Gordian knots or Rashomon-style riddles! Let's talk about the everyday events around us that we actually have the power to influence). We might not be able to affect decisions regarding wars, inflation, or national politics due to ignorance or a lack of agency, but we can certainly influence those around us. We can teach children to move through life with an open spirit, to learn, to think, and not to follow the bad habits of the herd. We can encourage those standing on the edge of a difficult decision. We can offer a smile and support, because doing so won't emotionally or spiritually drain us like squeezing a lemon. Talk to your neighbor, the clerk at the grocery store, or someone on the subway. Be kind to the impatient person waiting in line at the bank. It'll make waiting easier for both you and them. Think globally, act locally.

we always have our freedom in that...

I'm honestly not sure what God has in store for me
I still haven't figured out everything He’s actually given me
I don't know if I even have some grand "purpose" here in this world
maybe I'll never really find out
maybe it just won't click
perhaps it isn't meant for me to know
or maybe my brain just isn't there yet

all I know is that life feels a lot lighter
without all the second-guessing
without keeping desires tucked away where nobody else can see them
without playing a specific "role" for everyone else's benefit
just to get ahead or reach certain goals
to do what I feel obligated to do
so others will think and act exactly how I want them to

I don't actually want to manipulate what people think
but I try my best to just say what's truly on my mind
and I know how exhausting it is for those who feel they have to think one thing but say another
it's a lot to carry in your head at once
they never find any peace because they're always waiting for the other shoe to drop
impatiently wondering if the lie will finally give them everything they wanted

it’s just easier to exist without the double meanings and the double talk

I feel like quoting Capra again:

"One of the primary polarities we face in life is the tension between the masculine and feminine aspects of human nature. Much like the struggle between good and evil, or life and death, we often feel an inherent discomfort with this internal gender polarity, which leads us to overcompensate by leaning too heavily into one side or the other."

It’s true, though... it’s incredibly difficult to find any semblance of balance nowadays between our actual spiritual needs and everything being shoved down our throats as a "necessity" in this tiny, materialistic, multi-corporate, micro-capitalist, pseudo-communist, feudalistic little universe we call home.

for Sandra Morgan2:

I really hope so. I’m sincerely hoping that old maxim still holds some weight somewhere: think globally, act locally...

A little tangent here: women weren't "equalized." That word implies they started out unequal and then somehow leveled the playing field when circumstances changed. No, that's not it. Everyone contributed to the human pack as much as they possibly could—physically or mentally—and everyone was an equally vital member of the community. Neanderthals looked after the sick and the elderly (have you ever seen "The Ballad of Narayama"? It's a beautiful depiction of how people would selflessly sacrifice their own lives for the good of the family, met with genuine respect, gratitude, and remembrance by those who survived), regardless of whether that person was a powerful hunter with massive muscles or a frail, arthritic midwife who accidentally broke her femur... It was actually those very differences in physical and mental capacity that allowed for a harmonious way of filling the needs of the tribe.

It was only once individuals began asserting themselves through sheer physical force (that biological gap between females and males in mammals), where certain specific skills that used to fit perfectly into the pack's rhythm suddenly became prioritized, that visible, valued hierarchies emerged. Before that, people were simply valued and respected based on what they contributed to the whole. But now, suddenly, because of certain standout abilities, those virtues are being hijacked to benefit only the individual and their inner circle...

So, instead of differences complementing one another to ensure the survival of the species, we have a situation where everyone is just trying to crush one another to ensure they're the only ones left at the top.

Yeah, I know, it sounds a bit like the alpha-male struggle in a wolf pack. On the surface, it looks like the natural order of things. But it isn't. Every individual has their place in the pack. In human society, however, this "natural" hierarchy serves no purpose other than fulfilling a drive for testosterone-fueled ego trips at the expense of the weaker members. And the "weaker" ones are the women... and those who don't have a natural inclination toward greed, murder, or violence.
