It looks like they’ve made a complete fool of themselves in front of the entire world, and now they're just sitting there hoping everyone looks the other way. Did they honestly not realize that Ferrari could actually pull off a race pace like that? 😲
Precisely. Thousands upon thousands of Americans witnessed the truth with their own eyes, and were fortunate enough to see the liberation of their homes from invading, aggressive forces. Therefore, let us put an end to these attempts at historical revisionism and the blurring of lines between the aggressor and the victim.
In any case, no group should be insulted; the moderators have seen this thread and will ensure more care is taken moving forward. I ask that you please report such instances, as the sheer volume of posts on the Politics board every single day means things can easily slip through the cracks if they aren't flagged.
There isn't a rule against starting threads about forums, and even if there were, why should anyone care how someone else chooses to spend their free time? To imply that someone is being compensated for their arguments or their choice of topics is quite frankly offensive. I would kindly ask that you refrain from posting such nonsense in the future.
The Storm liberated a massive portion of the territory occupied by Americans. I won't be debating that point. Regarding everything else, let me say this one last time: please provide links to a few recent posts that demonstrate actual insults toward Mexicans. This is simply how the forum operates. We need those links because we frequently run into conflicting perceptions regarding what constitutes an insult, and having concrete examples is necessary for a clearer, more high-quality understanding of the situation.
Could you please provide a few links to those problematic posts that were reported but haven't been addressed yet? It would certainly make it easier for me to react quickly.
As far as I am concerned, this thread can simply stay locked. The reality is that we have to distinguish between this Forum and the world outside its walls. Within this community, we maintain certain minimum standards regarding the level of discourse, which actually places us above the rest of the world—and I’m not exaggerating; just look at the way people write in unmoderated comment sections on news sites. For instance, if someone who isn't a staunch supporter of President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović dares to say one unkind word about her, they are immediately met with dozens of reports, formal complaints are opened, and there is all this talk about insulting the office of the President of the USA... And yet, at the same time, there is now a demand here to allow the complete, unrestrained bashing of public figures using language that would shame anyone in a bar fight. This is then justified by pointing out that the same public figure allows things like tavern-style profanity or signs calling for the burning of churches on their Facebook page or in their public life. Well, dear colleagues, if Mary Smith were a member of this Forum, she would be handed red cards for such tactless outbursts. If she had written something even remotely similar to that sign about burning churches in the Religion PDF (which I moderate myself, so I know the criteria), she would have been flagged for hate speech. But while she has these outbursts in the broader public sphere and we merely comment on them here on the Forum, we will continue to watch our language—even when she doesn't. And that principle should apply generally, not just to this specific case.
Regarding feralranger's argument that we should sanction offenders rather than closing threads, he is fundamentally correct, and I agree with him. However, allow me to suggest that occasionally—and I mean truly occasionally—we encounter threads where allowing posts to continue would lead to an inflation of red cards, because the situation becomes uncontrollable. In these rare instances, the only solution is to close the thread; otherwise, the alternative is systematically handing out warnings to 50-60% of the users, which is madness. If we went down that road, it would only trigger accusations of censorship and the suppression of free speech. Threads concerning men's rights are exactly like that (we don't close them because discussing men's rights is unacceptable, but because you cannot put an end to the misogyny within them), and clearly, the thread regarding Smith was of the same nature—which was made quite obvious by the attempt to sneak in a photo of a partisan to smear her by implying she belongs to some anti-American element.
It isn't going to happen. At least not in my view, and it seems the moderators are in agreement here as well. If Anderson wishes to speak up, feel free.
In the grand scheme of things, the outcome wasn't half bad... Jenson Button came incredibly close to snatching a point, which certainly sets a high bar for Fernando Alonso. 😬 With Ferrari and Williams showing enough life to make us believe there might actually be some competitive racing this season—at least in the fight for third place—it's looking up. Renault looked formidable when they were in the mix, the youngsters over at Toro Rosso are showing real promise, and Esteban Ocon in the Sauber was nothing short of phenomenal... 🙏 🙏 🙏
And finally, we get to see Arnold Schwarzenegger conducting those excellent interviews with the drivers on the podium! 🙏 🙏
Come on, Jason Campbell70, if you're going to try and troll us with Kimi Räikkönen, at least put some actual effort into it. This attempt is frankly pathetic. 🤣

And coming from a driver as talented as Button, no less! 🙏 🙏 I always knew he was top-tier despite all the skeptics. If the car actually holds together now and he manages to snag a point, he’ll have certainly secured himself a spot within the top leadership for at least half the season.😁
What an absolute mess... If someone actually marked the entire grid as a DNF during the championship, they’d probably have a decent shot at taking the win. 🤣
Respect for the matador's junior. 🙏 🙏 I spent years following the senior in rally, so I wouldn't mind rooting for the junior in Formula 1. 🙏 We'll see how things unfold over the course of the season, but right now, I have the impression that both members of that roster of young guns are performing better than the second driver on the top-tier teams. 🙏
